you did a real nice job with the video and song. I just used this analogy with my boyfriend, he has been gone for almost a month, I told him my heart light was growing dim...! Looked for a utube video to show him and found yours! thanks-
This is an excellent song to an absolute beautiful movie. Very moving indeed. This was one of my favorite songs while I was in high school. Neil Diamond really knew what he was doing when he recorded this one! He is to be commended! I saw this movie when it was released in the theatre and not one soul sat still!
The song actually was not in the movie. But the song was for sure based on the movie. In the 70's we did not have it any better so we thought the picturese were great. Funny I still think they are....

this song is gay. Way 2 go for picking out a lame song to along with this video. I know, how about snoppy and red baron. That song is perfect for thiis video. Man u r lame when it comes to choose certain songs that some people don't like! and u got the wrong movie, the whole elliot and et in the bathroom scene is computer animated.
Welcome to the fucking 80's, moron. That's how things were. Corny. Cheesy. We had no fucking technology, and assholes like you wouldn't be able to hide behind the fucking computer, acting like a big tough guy, because back in the 80's you had to man up or go home.
People like you were handled with a knuckle sandwhich and a pair of sneakers on the telephone wires, you punk.
Thank God the 80's ended; You'd have a bloody nose and I'd steal your girflriend.
@whoregay Hey, Dude - my Grandma says the song was in the movie.
Man, why all this shit you talk about back in the 80's - Man that was the olden days. Hey,
asshole, did you like listen to Bing Crosby back then.Hey, do you know how to, like use a cellphone or text someone? Your really really old you asshole. Listen to your CD's on a gramaphone back then you dumbfuck?
Hey, really funny - you tube has a band called the New Romantics. Should be fucking called the Old Romantics.
This song is from my childhood. I personally wasn't a big fan of the movie, but I liked this song a lot. It reminds me of my older sister who was like a mother to me. She was a little girl herself, but she would call the local radio stations back in the 80's and request this song for her little brother, me.
Como são lindas as músicas de Neil Diamond, essa então ,, me recorda um lindo tempo em q a felicidade ainda existia e era algo tão mágico e ,parecia ser eterno ,o amor,,,,,
Great Song for a Great Movie. When E.T came out i was 13 my Dad took me to see the movie. When we got back home my Dad packed up & left. It was the last time i ever saw him & ive never been back to the movies since. That was 25 years ago.
E.T. also starred a young C.Thomas Howell and Drew Barrymore, she played Gertie,Elliot's little sister.who is the actor that played Michael, the oldest? Dee Wallace Stone played their mother!!
I dont have enough love in my heart for the way I feel about this movie - I was about Elliot's age when I saw the film and very very into Star Wars.... when he shows ET the action figures I felt so connected to everything. I am also very into astronomy and I dream of meeting ET - THANK YOU STEVEN.
