Episode three has been my favorite so far. Episode one was dumb, they rushed too much, skipping ahead three weeks so quickly. Episode four was meh.

@LisergicoRojo My sincere hope is that the Resistance chooses to "steal back" V and make it mean something new. They're still using the red spray-paint V logo after all, which makes me think we'll start to see that in the series. I'm not sure we can expect it before the end of the first season though, which isn't until episode 12. Only thing we can do is wait and see.

@lostdrewid my hopes for V are not much higher my fellow fan...gotta say only watch it for Anna lol GORGEOUS, but u got the fbi, the army, the church, etc etc etc at the resistance?!... well fuck at the original one u got 90% scientists, a journalist, a sort of ok priest, the "shadowy" black ops (tyler) and the streetwise dude...and they OBVIOUSLY stripped all the antifascist msg of the original...remember Juliet shooting a spaceship and the guerrilla man shooting the chopper parallel...WOW...

from what i understand from the promo of ABC's new version V, V is not standing for Victory anymore but its standing for Visitors. if it is true its too shame!!!!!! and sucks! if they gonna re-make, the should do right! :)

Heh, even in the original "V", the WW2 resistance allegory took some time to assert itself. It's not like there was a resistance war right from the very first minute. The fact that the aliens were named "Visitors" with a V was no coincidence either. It was obviously meant as a double entendre. "V for Visitors" evolved into "V for Victory". Likewise, the new series hasn't even gotten underway yet, so give it some time. We may see the meaning of "V" change similarly later on.

V never meant visitors, the humans called them visitors they didn't call themselves that. This is the first time V was used in the show and it means victory. I do hope they change it in the new one but it's already fucked up anyway, man that new one's gonna suck.

mmm Kenneth Johnson knew what V meant right from the start. He states that very clearly in an interview regarding his views on the new series. Some say V´s original pilot drew inspiration from B. Brecht "Life of the master race".

As the "visitors", they embodied fascism very early on with their suits, uniforms and overwhelming propaganda. I dont see any chance the meaning of V changes on the new series as it is very clear they wanted to tone down the political side of it.

The damned best scene of one of the damned best pieces of television ever. In less than a minute, this was the heart and soul of what made V so amazing. Well until it became "Dallas in spaceships" anyway. But even a quarter-century later, Abraham's instruction to the kids has lost none of its power.

that was the final battle series. they are coming out with a sequel that ignores the final battle and the tv show. It picks up 20years later and the humans get a response from the enemeies of the visitors.

they really got the idea for this from the book it can't happen here which was written in 1935. Kenneth Johnson use aliens invading the world instead of another country invading the US.

Another one of my favourite scenes and another shining moment from Abraham I loved it when he said "If you're going to do this, do it right?" then showed them and scrawled on a poster 'V' and he says to them "For Victory" and asks them to pass it onto their friends.
