Based on my interpritation of the Holy Bible, good deeds alone won't get you into Heaven, only Jesus can do that, but being a True Christian requires good deeds & only True Christians (Pre-Christ times true Jews) will get into Heaven.

@ChristRoxOurLives I agree with what your saying, but it's not 2010 years ago, Jesus died on the cross at about 35 A.D. just letting you know. Side note: a lot of people think A.D. means "after death", but it actually means "Anno Domini" which means "In the year of our LORD"
no it doesnt make it all right, you still have to pay the consequenses for what you have done but giving your soul to Jesus means He will forgive you for all you have done. and yes a great person will go to hell if they dont have God in there heart. it may be harsh but Jesus died for you, me, and everyone else in the world. just so we could be saved by Him and go to heaven and live with Him. instead of ignoring him and going to hell. He actually accompanied people in the act of killing Christians. Just because you can't see past your book, doesn't mean anything. Many of us are good people and have little use for organized religion. Instead of spending my life trying to make myself feel good about all the hardship in life by deluding myself with superstition, I do what I can to make the world a better place. Be it a simple act of stopping to help someone stranded on the road, or the military service I gave to help make a positive difference. That, not Jesus is what makes a good person.

one act of 'giving your soul to Jesus' doesn't make it alright, because if you 'gave your soul to Jesus' and then continued to live a selfish life you haven't done what you said you did. I think giving your life to Jesus is the first step, but you have to actively make it so. I know I've had times when it's been easy to say 'I'll follow' but that means nothing if I don't then act how I should as a follower of Jesus. As for those who do good without knowing Jesus? I don't know but I trust God.

Anyway forgiveness isn't about what you do, it's about who loves and cares about you. No one will forgive someone they don't love (in some respect), because forgiveness is about love.

What they mean is we have these worldly/secular aspects to Christianity that aren't how God intended. It's about the need for us to give people genuine God encounters. We over complicate things, put ourselves forward and say they're God. It's time to stop being false and actually give people genuine God. Eg. Sometimes we do things more for our own pride or to 'achieve'. God doesn't want us to glorify anyone but Him. Do we offer ourselves... or do we geuinely offer Jesus? My thoughts anyway...

no it doesnt make it all right, you still have to pay the consequenses for what you have done but giving your soul to Jesus means He will forgive you for all you have done. and yes a great person will go to hell if they dont have God in there heart. it may be harsh but Jesus died for you, me, and everyone else in the world. just so we could be saved by Him and go to heaven and live with Him. instead of ignoring him and going to hell. I hope somehow i have helped

without Christ we are nothing. I don't see how anyone could live a good life without Jesus Christ. All of the acts are worthless if your faith isn't in Christ. Take Saul for example. He actually accompanied people in the act of killing Christians. Then one day Jesus appeared to him and testified to him who he was and what the Holy Spirit was.Then Saul changed his name to Paul and went on to write much of the New Testament. This man was a true prophet. He was only made that way by Jesus Christ

Just because you can't see past your book, doesn't mean anything. Many of us are good people and have little use for organized religion. Instead of spending my life trying to make myself feel good about all the hardship in life by deluding myself with superstition, I do what I can to make the world a better place. Be it a simple act of stopping to help someone stranded on the road, or the military service I gave to help make a positive difference. That, not Jesus is what makes a good person.

Or Saul had a conscience and realized that what he was doing was wrong. In any event that is pretty much the exact opposite of what I suggested. Find me one biblical example of a non JudeoChristian type being a good person and being praised in any way. one act of 'giving your soul to Jesus' doesn't make it alright, because if you 'gave your soul to Jesus' and then continued to live a selfish life you haven't done what you said you did. I think giving your life to Jesus is the first step, but you have to actively make it so. I know I've had times when it's been easy to say 'I'll follow' but that means nothing if I don't then act how I should as a follower of Jesus. As for those who do good without knowing Jesus? I don't know but I trust God.

IF you do 'Give your soul to jesus' does that mean that all the horrors and bad things you've done in your life are washed away, no accountability? A man's character and worth are not determined by whose name for which he does things. It is the sum of his deeds and acts. Ghandi for instance, a hindu, was a good and true person, completely selfless. IS he burning in a lake of fire? I dont believe so. Unlike 90% of the world's 'Christians, Ghandi actually did make the world a better place.

They are washed away, but in order for that to happen you have to repent, be truely sorry. Surey it's better to practice forgiveness than to punish? We believe Christ gives second chances, as many as you need. Look at at the criminal on the cross. He came to Christ in his dying words and Christ accepted him. I don't believe that a loving God would punish those who truely try to live a good life. Narnia, the last battle, has it just about right. It's not always who you serve, but how.

Meaning serving Mankind, serving God, Serving Allah, Serving Ganesha, or serving the greater good without religious inclination. It IS about how you serve, meaning, doing good and whats right for its own sake, not just to serve jesus, or Allah or ganesha. Forgiveness isnt something that you need a fictional character to give you, it is something that you give yourself, and can be gifted by those you have wronged.

mmm i think you'll find Aslan get's the final say and ultimately he was serving Aslan he just didn't know it. But we all need forgiveness from Jesus in the end. Anyway forgiveness isn't about what you do, it's about who loves and cares about you. No one will forgive someone they don't love (in some respect), because forgiveness is about love.

What they mean is we have these worldly/secular aspects to Christianity that aren't how God intended. It's about the need for us to give people genuine God encounters. We over complicate things, put ourselves forward and say they're God. It's time to stop being false and actually give people genuine God. Eg. Sometimes we do things more for our own pride or to 'achieve'. God doesn't want us to glorify anyone but Him. Do we offer ourselves... or do we geuinely offer Jesus? My thoughts anyway...
