Roger Waters is gonna tour The Wall around the globe! They're still working out dates but its for certain they're doing it. If dave and nick tag along, idk. IT COULD HAPPEN!
if dave wanted to do the wall anything he would have done something close to it. he didntt even want to do this song on the live 8 shows when roger wanted it, and he even avoided it for the on an island tour as well. he has also given many coments that the only reason he joined waters for live 8 was to not regret it. he would not join roger sad to say. specially know with rick gone, i dont think it would even be right for floyd to unite without rick
@itssandman2u. It's not self control. It's thought control. We don need no thought control. Just correcting ya is all. My fav song by pink Floyd! It's awsome
This song will always be the big goodbye to the seventies and welcome to the eighties for me. I was about to turn sixteen years old. It was the right song at the right time.
For those of you too young to understand, The Wall is a metaphor for isolation.
This entire movie was based off of the incident where Syd Barret spat in the face of a fan trying to climb over the gate that separated them from the audience during a concert, along side Barrets deteriorating mental psyche.
@MurdaMook011 His brains were overcooked on the first album, the only reason he was sidelined was that his state got so bad he just couldn't work as a musician e.g. failing to mime to songs when the floyd appeared on tv and just strumming through one chord at concerts
@gorillazhead Syd left in 1968 due to his drug and mental illness and the song wasnt released until 1979 in the UK and shortly after in 1980 of the US
@gorillazhead the idea of the wall was born in montreal quebec canada pink floyd was doing a concert and in the front row there were people harrasing rogers the whole time he spat on them and swore if pink floyd was ever to tour again he'd build a wall to seperate himself from the audience..... or atleast that's what i heard....
so the hammers are people who cant think for themself and how no thought control or self control like sheeps and shepeards and the teacher is the shepeard aka the gorvement that tells us what to do right
My dad tells me he watched the film while he was high, when it was over he looked over to his room-mate at the time and said "I didnt know we were living in the wall" Although the times have changed and views are still slightly different the younger generation (such as myself) might not "get" this sort of thing, but i definately do, i love this band and think theyre still a major part of music now as they were when they first started playing
i think it's more like, we do not need GOVERNMENT controlled education, i think education by learning from family is most important, and we do need self control, it's what separates from the animals, and now-a days, some animals are even smarter than us, and that's just sad
Most of Pink Floyds Albums should be movies. WYWH,Animals,DSOTM,The Final Cut whould be movies. There just so much imigary in the lyrics. Pink Floyd are one of the Greatest Bands to ever Live. FUCK THE NEW SHIT,THAT AIN't ROCK, THATS COCK. THIS IS ROCK!!!
best album ever made. Music is A+. Lyrics are A+. The right mix of philosophy, psychology, and storytelling. I get more from this album with every listen. When I was younger it was just good songs. Then I got the idea of pink. Then I've been where pinks been and its been inspirational. WHo knows where it'll take me from here.
They didn't put it in the film. They have it as DVD extra, but Roger decided to cut it out as because he thought people would get bored/confused about what was going on.
never will happen for a long term tour. ROger and Dave both are arrogant and still pissed off. Dave barely even wants to play as PInk Floyd for more than a show here and a show there. He feels its played out and not what he's into anymore. Roger has played with nick and rick on occation, and I could see them doing a tour in all honesty. I'd kill for an Animals tour. Roger's Dark Side of the Moon tour rocked, as did David's P.U.L.S.E. Tour which also had Dark Side in its entirety.

It was Roger who spat on the fan

the spitting incident wasnt syd, it was roger at the in the flesh tour in 1977

I'm pretty sure it was Syd Barret, leading him to quit a few weeks later, but w/e.

Nope it was 100% Roger Waters. Syd was long gone from the band when The Wall was made/thought of
