WOW! I have such admiration for your bravery in attempting - and in posting - so soon after giving birth! What an inspiration you are! This is the first of your videos I've watched & I'm certainly heading to your web site for more! I've never pole danced, but it looks like an incredibly challenging and impressive way to build strength & keep your body tight & fit. I'm on the 'edge' of jumping in to learn! Looking forward to you veterans for mental clarity & strength until I can gain my own! :-)
I wanted to say thank you for posting this. I am 23 weeks pregnant right now, and even though my pole videos stopped at the very early stages of learning for me, I have been poling for 2 years now. But when I got pregnant I had to stop completely because I was put on bed rest right away. I can feel how weak I am now, and am so sad that I will have to re learn EVERYTHING all over again and be that same fumbling sloppy girl I was once. But I see now everyone goes through it! And you look GREAT!!
@rachael596 You'll get it!!!! My little guy is now 19 months, and still my abs are the first thing that lose strength when I don't exercise regularly....good think babies are worth it. lol
You are awesome! I'm sure by now you are right back to where you were before. I just got my pole 3 days ago and have been on it non stop. I have watched so many intermediate videos on moves and came across yours today not sure what you call it but i sit on the floor with back against the pole and flip myself upside down..yaaeh i did it cuz of your video. Tried again and hit my sholder blade, it hurt. I think I am going to put up videos on here so people can see my progression. Will be fun!
Aww thank you, yes I'm back now and better than ever :-) If your looking to teach yourself...I have lessons you can take online, I even have strength work you can do with your pole to prepare your body for the demands of pole dance. We also have an section on my site where you can upload your videos. You should check it out.
I love how although it may be difficult, you look like your having a great time. My birthday is coming up and my mother told me she's going to get me a pole and after watching you I'm definitely going to try your online lessons.
wow, I remeber this journey! After having mine and trying to pole again, I just sat on the floor by my pole and cried thinking I could never do anything again, like you said..your mind knows what its doing but your body just cant take it so well. You look fab chick and you give me hope for having my next bubba and coping!!! Check out Veenas other vids peeps!! xx
Try also doing some tricep dips and push ups to help strength your arms. Don't over do it, if you find your arms ache a lot just have a day off pole dancing the next day. This is what I've learnt to do. Coz boy it can hurt so I understand what you mean!
You are so amazing, you are the person who inspired me to pole dance, it's so much fun and it is such a workout! Congratulations! Was the baby a boy or girl? (just curious) = )
i know i'm not veena, but i had to reply! i took a pole dancing class and some of the women weere 50-60 years old. some of them were better at pole dancing than the younger girls! its good for any age. but, as for anyone at any age starting a new exercise, check with a doctor =)
This gives me hope that I may regain my previous level of pole dancing. I had a baby about 4 months ago and I haven't been on the pole much the past few months but I plan to do more soon.
Its really a struggle at first because your abs are sooooo weak but it came back fast! I was shocked. Let me know if you have any questions. And Congrats.
Kudos to you Veena, I remember how weak I was the first few weeks after having my son, so I can't believe you can already get yourself on a pole. You are amazing!
its so easy to forget when you're learning and watching wonderful dancers that the women you're watching train hard every day and if they have a break (congratulations by the way) then they lose some of the the strength they worked so hard to build. I always just assume that the dancers are naturally athletic and talented but of course its hard work and dedication.
Thank you again, i'm off to brush the dust off my pole and get training
i just wantd to know if u attended a class or r u self taught i got a pole and ive been learning a lot off u and youtube do u think i must atted a class to b any good
Veena...I have been following all of your videos and I am so impressed with how well you have done, after being out for so long...I too have four children and I know how hard it is to get back into the swing of things...no pun intended...lol...anyways...looking forward to many more of your exciting videos...keep up the excellent work, and love those kids, they grow up so darned fast!
I just wanted to say that I have watched many of your videos. They are great. They are so artistic graceful and beautiful. Your extentions are wonderful. Do you have professional dance training? Perhaps some ballet training? Congrats on the new baby. You have a rockin bod for someone who has had four children! Your beautiful. Your pole work never looks cheap or trashy like some of the others I have seen. Keep up the great work.
Even though you hadn't done any inverts for 5 months...you did really well on them. I'm amazed you're back into it after only 3wks!
That first attempt at the invert at the beginning of the vid...that's me atm lol I just can't do it! I know I will get it one day, just gotta keep working at it.
I am so incredibly impressed with your determination! Three weeks! Wow! And that little jig you did when you did the trick right was adorable :) Congrats on the baby and good luck!
I love that you let your frustration show through in your video. I am part owner of a pole dance performance company, and I feel like people are looking to me to just get things right away, but the reality is that pole dancing is HARD, and when you've taken a break or just learning it can be discouraging and frustrating. But you are an amazing performer regardless and fantastic to watch. And I'm amazed you got back to it 3 wks pp too!
Everybody else already said this but, you inspired me! You never realize how much you lose when you take a break from something. I'm going to practice every day. You look fantastic -- you're having fun and you're gaining your strength back! Congratulations!
Wow, you are doing great! I haven't pole danced since FEB of 07 and just got my x pole in the mail and wow have I lost a lot of strength. Major sweaty hands and I can't even climb the pole anymore :(. You give me hope!
I hear ya....it took every ounce of strength I had to do 15 min of trying these moves. BUT hang in there it can come back quick if you work at it. good luck!
It is frustrating for me....but having to go back to the beginning will in turn make me a better instructor. Its easy to forget how tough it is at first. :)
veena- I tried to do that trick upside down when my arms was hurting and fell on my back-lol I got a rug burn too. It was funny to c u doing the same thing and once u got it u were happy. This goes to show I need to practice everyday. Thank u.
You are inspiring! It's so nice to see you building up your skills and strength again - your smile when you achieve another move is just lovely - keep it up!! :)
Thanks for posting this video it's so wonderful to see you back in action. I took a 2month hiatus from pole dancing and it was so hard coming back all my progress I made before I left was gone but I've been back with it for 2-3 months and am making new strides. Keep @ it chica, good luck!
Thank you everyone, that was my hope in sharing this video was to encourage everyone to keep trying. Everyone struggles at some point. Don't give up! :)
Your videos are inspiring. I don't think I can use the excuse that I am just too tired to pole anymore after watching that. Can't wait to watch your progress.
I wish I looked that good after having my kids. I went all the way up to 185 pnds with my daughter. You look great. Your a wonderful dancer and it will take you no time at all to it totally back. Congrats on your latest little one.
fantastic vid!! well done you!!this will be specially useful for people like me, (without any fitness background)to learn how to tackle fitness/strengh progress. Thank you for sharing.
you look amazing for someone who has just had their fourth baby :-)this is an inspirational video because it shows you being normal and having to work at stuff like the rest of us,you look damn near perfect now though :-(( my 15 year old daughter just watched this with me and asked if you put on any weight at all when you were pregnant because she said we can barely tell youve just had a baby !!! :-)
Thanks. I gained about 28lbs. I'm about 13lbs heavier than my pre pregnancy weight. But I'd like to keep the extra weight, I always feel too skinny. :-) I'm weird that way.
Wow, Veena--that was pretty inspiring. It reassured me that pole skills are something that can be learned--and not just magic from out of nowhere! Your videos are so awesome and perfect that I sometimes forget that, like everyone else, your skills came as a result of hard work and patient practice! By the way, you look absolutely wonderful--who would have known you just had a baby! Thanks for inspiring all of us to work hard at the things we love! Hugs to Henry!
Thank you so much for keeping it real!! That's what inspires me- you don't hide anything! If we all had the courage! I have two kids-know what it's like to feel weak especially in the belly and you know that give yourself time & patience, you'll be back in shape in no time. The human body, thankfully does remember..you've been an example to this 3 times before. ;-)
Veena, thank you so much for posting this video! Im so proud of you that you are willing to show everyone your journey back to being fantastic!! Your frustration shows in this video but you are also able to smile and laugh at yourself which is really good!! Well done! :D
Wow...u still look amazing even at ur weakest...ur better than me...lol just give it time u'll b back 2 urself in no time...i look forward to seeing ur progress... :)
It still amazes me how you can be so much better at your weakest than I am at my strongest! LOL! I love ur face you made when you put your arms up for an attempted handspring but then decided, "Um... not yet!" LOL... priceless!
♥ Congratulations V!!! You will be as strong as you used to be in a short short time! ☺ Thanks for share this because it motivate to one of my friends.
my goodness - new baby you must be absolutely knackered all the time and you still manage to find the motivation to pole dance - says so much about you, well done girly! it won't take you long at all to get back to Veena standards :) We'll all be cheering you on xxxx
I guess it was hard to stay away:) Last week, when I got your reply, who'd of thought you'd start so soon? Like I said, you know your own body. You'll get back there in no time. I'm cheering you on:) I loved the little dance at 3:12 here. You still have it and you've shown me a valuable lesson in not giving up on something. Welcome back:
That little bump is still just so cute on your tiny figure! Don't you worry about being weak now, u'll bounce back in no time, putting your life first is always best,u are a smart and beautiful woman and mom! I just got my new TGX pole and STILL have not gotten on it really - too busy with my daughter in school, halloween, being a soccer coach, the list goes on, holy crap - I would never guess by your talent and shape you have four!! I will most def. be weak too once I start again. U look great!
I hear ya, sometimes I wish I had a nanny (anyone want to be my nanny??) haha. My two older boy have different school schedules so I'm in the van alot. Luckly Henry likes his car seat.
I still love watching you whether you are out of shape or not. The point is you're not lazy after pregnancy like some girls are. (No offense to any girls out there, sometimes you have to be lazy)
OMG you're so cute! I loved watching this video and I will echo what others have said; you are an amazing dancer and this does show the importance of being consistent but it also shows that having a baby is no reason to give up doing the things that you love. I look forward to watching your progress as you get your skills back! Thank you so much for sharing this with us!
i still think your doing a wonderful job! cuz ill stop dancing for just a week an i cant get upside down anymore..lol. i love that you posted this it was a fun video =)
I want to hug you for posting this! Hunny, this isn't bad, lol, this is me on a really good day (cept I haven't been brave enough to try the reverse grab yet or the caterpillar and I haven't just had a baby either!). It is so wonderful of you to post your journey back after the baby. xxx
wow that was fantastic concidering u had a a lil baby 3 weeks ago u r such an inspiratuion to other mums out there just shows that it can be done welcome bk to the pole world veena xxxx
hey girl...welp your inspirational, i guess if i had a fourth i 'could' see my pole again, like you did, lol..anything is doable, and it takes a little while cause the core gets a it soft after baby but you had so much underlying muscle, i'd say we'll see that ol belly back within weeks cause of all of that previous work, and genetics, lol. the body never forgets, you look great and i hope ur enjoyin lil henry..hes precious!!
Yeah this time my core is real weak...my other pregnancies I kept up with ab exercises though the whole thing. Didn't have time with this one though. Henry is fabulous all of us just sit there and star at him he's a good baby and I hate to put him down.
BLESS HIM, i hope u got a good sleeper, bt he sounds like hes pretty darned good all-around. i got that mushy belly last time, bt other times....like U said, i had so much muscle when i was younger & worked out so much..it would be interesting to C what would happen next time, if there is 1. id LOVE to have a nanny 2 & be a nanny, i actually did some work lk that in my late teens...a great feelin, not full time. i loved workin w/kids my whole life. they rule. your awesome, ull be back in no time
Truly this video is interesting and inspirational. To see someone who has proved to be such an incredible pole dancer go from amazingly fluidity..(a word? lol)to having to start over again... It shows me how important it is to stay consistent with practices. I also need to not skimp on a normal gym routine. I will be looking forward to watching you progress back to your awesomeness. (not that you're not there now..but you know what I mean!) Have fun and good luck!
I really do feel like I'm starting over again. :-)I know if I would have had time to continue to dance and weight train it would be easier but I at least made time do go for walks so I'm not totally out of shape. hehe.
good on you girl, i am sure you will get your strength back soon - you look amazing! it must be frustrating knowing how to do the moves - and knowing that you can - but not quite having the strength!!! and ouch - are you all bruised and pinched because your skin is not used to it anymore??? good luck and hope your new baby is well, also
I am so excited to see a video from you! You look amazing! As for the strength, your muscle memory will kick in in no time :) Hope all is well with the family :)

It still amazes me how you can be so much better at your weakest than I am at my strongest! LOL! I love ur face you made when you put your arms up for an attempted handspring but then decided, "Um... not yet!" LOL... priceless!
5 *s!

I'm only planning on poling once a week maaaby twice. I feel so good I don't want to mess that up. I'm work on flexibility daily though!

Thank you so much for sharing this with us!

hey girl...welp your inspirational, i guess if i had a fourth i 'could' see my pole again, like you did, lol..anything is doable, and it takes a little while cause the core gets a it soft after baby but you had so much underlying muscle, i'd say we'll see that ol belly back within weeks cause of all of that previous work, and genetics, lol. the body never forgets, you look great and i hope ur enjoyin lil henry..hes precious!!
exdiva69 3 years ago
Yeah this time my core is real weak...my other pregnancies I kept up with ab exercises though the whole thing. Didn't have time with this one though. Henry is fabulous all of us just sit there and star at him he's a good baby and I hate to put him down.
StudioVeena 3 years ago

:-)I know if I would have had time to continue to dance and weight train it would be easier but I at least made time do go for walks so I'm not totally out of shape. hehe.

good on you girl, i am sure you will get your strength back soon - you look amazing! it must be frustrating knowing how to do the moves - and knowing that you can - but not quite having the strength!!! and ouch - are you all bruised and pinched because your skin is not used to it anymore??? good luck and hope your new baby is well, also
iampeterthecat 3 years ago
I'm not bruised yet, but my skin does hurt when I try everything again.
