Oh for the love... JB adopted an American accent when the kids in Joliet IL started bullying him for speaking with a Scottish accent. His natural accent is still Scottish and he exclusively uses it when he's with his family... except when he's with Scott (his partner), who isn't fond of it. He came to the US when he was 8-9-ish. He still very much has a Scottish accent though. He just hides it really well. I think it's sad he gave it up because he was bullied. :( I'm ashamed of IL for that.

someone's natural accent can disappear in time whenever they spent a lifetime in other countries (esp.when they were children). it really doesn't matter where you born or what's your heritage, but where you are raised, bcause you adapted the environment and surrounded yourself w/ ppl with differ accent than yours.

if NPH, born in USA, and raised in ireland and surrounded himself with irish ppl, he would probably have an irish accent.

I adore Neil Patrick Harris, I truly do. He is handsome, funny, charming, does some great magic tricks, and plays Barney Stinson amazingly well but to me no one can beat John Barrowman! So I will have to side with John if forced to choose.

That being said I have no intention of not enjoying both these amazingly talented mens work, so.. it doesnt really matter. They are both great.
