@SUPERDOOPERTUBER Why is it "shit"? I think this was about the time that Schwarzenegger and "Pumping Iron" were big culturally. But you're right: definitely a gay sensibility (not that there's anything wrong with that -- and the Addams Family was nothing if not campy.
I knew Clinton Beyerle when he trained off and on at Bill Pearl's gym. He was studying to become a chiropractor. He used to train with a guy named Ed Holmes {no relations to John Holmes}. Clint was always nice & helpful. He never seemed to train excessively hard, but got good results. He was an expert on {low carb} dieting & gave lots of valuable advice. I haven't seen him since 1976 & wonder how he looks & is doing today. I once assisted him on a term paper. He was such a wonderful man.
@Musclecraz Yes indeed, knowing Clint was quite an honor. Everything he did, he did with finesse & watching him train was both an honor & a privilege.Clint was different than most other muscleheads in that he possessed class & intelligence. He was always soft-spoken & never showed off. When practicing posing, he did so discretely. He was modest, never ostentatious, & always very professional. As much as I was an Addams Family fan, the scene with Clint was my favorite part of the show.
This started out looking so incredibly cheap that I thought it was some sort of homemade parody - until I saw the real Gomez and Morticia at the party, being carried off by the bodybuilders. Yikes. What a comedown for the cast to end up in the likes of this low-budget cheese.
Yes the guy that played the "pirate" was a very recognizable face in the 70's...but he never got a regular role in a TV series I don't think. Those are very hard to get....I wonder if he's still alive.
@tmattrope Yes, his name was Parley Baer and he was a successful character actor from radio straight thru television...wonderful man and I had the fortune of working with him. He passed away a few years ago.
@tmattrope You can check him out on old" I Love Lucy","Ozzie & Harriet" and other great TV classics....Clint Beyerle is no slouch either...Man,what a classic builder!
The pirate actor was an actor with a recognizable face back then anf was famous allover tv on many episodes of so many tv shows ranging from That Girl to Bewitched.they had faces we knew when we were growing up in the 70's 60's but we never knew their names, true.National Enquirer made an expose on this famous faces with no names we didnt know.
There is also an implication that bodybuilders are somewhat strange and freaky...by placing them in this story the way they did. The entire film was a little weak but at the time it was fun to see the reunion.
The 70's elements in this is too weird for The Addams Family which was a mid-60's show here Gomez mentioned "a galaxy far far away" quoting Star Wars, hunky bodybuilders show, those crazy drag queen looking costumes..all is just too offbeat even for the Addams Family. The Family stayed the same as they were in the old show eventhough the times changed around them...too unrealistic...
forgot to mention who ever doesnt see the homo eroticism in this video clip is clearly in denial. i have come to the realization that when a man is beautiful its natural beauty not that artificial beauty(makeup) that woman wear.
lol it never occurred to people in the 70's that bodybuilders might have gay tendencies. Alot of gay young men probably watched this adams family movie solely for the muscle men.
I'm so lucky to have grown up in a very open environment (it's a Swedish/Danish thing). Could you elaborate on what it's like to simultaneously hate and admire?
Funny, but I saw a dude in the shower last night...twenty days out from competition...with a better butt than Beyerle (hey, 'gear' is better these days than in '79, if you're fool enough to inject it). But still, this IS hot. Beyerle is magnificent: one of my idols.
I think I remember this movie being talked about in some musclemag when it aired on t,v. GMV has video footage of him posing outside in mountains, I do .have that viideo.
Carolyn's expression when the muscle man ties her up! :D I think she was enjoying that ! <3

Lurch is awesome, he took them weights from that guy and threw it outside, and those buff dudes ran out like pussies.
