  • just go to ebay and input your model number for ac jack and you will buy it. It is very low in cost.

  • i know this is an old video, but i just got a computer with the same problem. (same computer). by any chance if i cant repair and end up having to replace the a/c port, would it be a specific part i need (like a certain model)? or are all a/c plugs generally the same? like is there a specific shape it needs to be, a specific pin layout or model number i would need to know to replace it? thanks

  • Did the power jack light come on but not able to turn on the unit? Thats my problem?please let me know before i replace my main board cause if thats all it is thats way easyer!

  • Disliked cause the stupid reggaeton shit

  • what is this song?

  • Is this a easy fix that a normal Person who doesnt know too much about them can do? I heard its hard to solder in the new AC jack? And i see them on ebay for like $5 should i order one of them or get a original one?

  • @th19940305 Its not letting me reply. 2nd time this has happened

  • @th19940305 ill reply to you in parts see if that helps

  • @th19940305 I want to say no. you have to know how to desolder and solder. The reason I say desolder is because the desoldering tip can get too hot that it will mess up the contact on the motherboard itself. If its not hot enough your going to have a hard time and get frustrated.

  • @th19940305 so you have to be careful as to not desolder too much from whats leftover from the old dcjack. soldering back on: you also have to be careful as to not get too much on there or have it spread on the motherboard. yes you can get one from ebay no problem, thats where I got mine from.

  • @th19940305 were you able to figure out the hard drive issue?

  • @ElizabethN2002 Yea i just need a new jack but im desciding on just getting a new unit or trying to fix it

  • @th19940305 have you taken it apart? Can you send me some pictures of the broken acjack? jrpcrepair@hotmail.com

  • i need to replace the whole motherboard i think or can i just do the ac adapter

  • @th19940305 How bad is the AC Adapter messed up? Can you send me pictures? jrpcrepair@hotmail.com Have you opened up your computer.

  • @ElizabethN2002 I have recently riped open the whole computer and im just going to transfer the hard drive to a new one. Do you know if the hard drive from this model will fit any other models? Im just going to sell the other parts i got

  • @th19940305 It will fit any other laptop that is IDE Connector.

  • @ElizabethN2002 what does that mean

  • i have the same comupter but when i try to turn it on it doesnt unless i connect it to the charger. so idk wat the prolem is? and when i click on the battery icon it says "plugged in,not charging. so if u can reply i would appicate it thank u.

  • @MrZepeda33 Yes. It sounds like the battery needs to get replaced. Before replacing the battery you should do the following: UPDATE BIOS. If after UPDATING THE BIOS it still doesn't charge the battery you will need to REPLACE the battery.

Sometimes when the BIOS is not updated they run into problems with the battery not getting charge or it only charges a certain percentage of the battery. Updating the BIOS seems like something you don't need but it's very important to get it updated.

  • DV4000

  • @SKULLxSNAPS I recently replaced USB PORTS on a Pavilion ZE2000. It only had ports. One on each side and they were both broken off. I didnt have time to film it, but I found it odd that one of the usb ports looked like it had not been SOLDERED right from the factory. Almost like me just having to re-soldered.

  • @ElizabethN2002 cool thanks for the info ;-) replies have been more helpful than the other vids..cheers!

  • @SKULLxSNAPS Well anytime. I can answer any question.

  • where did you get the new jack part?

  • @SKULLxSNAPS I got the part from a local store

  • @ElizabethN2002 i just need to look for the right size? thanks..

  • @SKULLxSNAPS what do you mean the right size? If your looking to get your AC JACK replaced you have to find the one that fits your make/model of laptop. Most of them are different.

  • @ElizabethN2002 cool thanks, i have the same exact model

  • I had an HP Pavillion 4000,

    first this happened to me,

then the screen went black forever it got fixed,

then he got slow with XP,

    then he stopped reading DVD's,

    then my speakers got rust,

then the screen went black again.

Final Chapter - I destroyed it!

  • Just curious. How's your computer working in general? You put Vista on? I have a dv4275nr and it's getting quite slow. I am wondering if you upgraded any parts, like RAM or hard drive or battery. I'm considering replacing the RAM (right now it's 504MB) hoping that it would make my computer a bit more usable. Has your computer gotten very slow too? And by the way. Is your SD card slot working? Mine stopped working a while ago. =( Is that easily replaceable? I've never replaced computer parts.

  • @mari710 Laptop is working pretty good, havent had a problem with it yet. I put something better than Vista on it. It had vista to start with but I said "I think i'll go with 7" so its go 7 on it now. I did upgrade ram it has a 1-512mb and 1-256mb stick. Nope I have not upgraded any other parts other than ram. I do want to replace the palmrest/touchpad but not sure yet. Paint on speakers have faded a little bit. My HDD is pretty good and battery is excellent (like new).

  • @mari710 Computer never has gotten slow. Vista all around is SLOW, I would suggest to you upgrading to Windows 7. SD Card slot is working just fine. I will have to get back with you on the replacement of the SD CAR SLOT.

In my book this laptop is a great laptop. I hear people talking about HP DV's being bad and what not. (whatever). But that's only my opinion.

  • Awesome job! I'm having the same problem with my HP Dv4000 - I wish you showed the whole dissasembly though...I got partway through but couldn't get to the power jack.

  • I didn't post the whole video because battery went dead half way. I wanted to don't get me wrong. You have to disassemble everything on the laptop to get to the power jack.

    Thank You
