Once you become a firefighter, you become part of that brotherhood no matter what you do with the rest of your life. I joined that brotherhood as a member of a Forest Service Hot Shot crew in 1966 and enjoyed 19 seasons of wildfire and volunteer structure fighting.
Each firefighter death saddens me beyond tears and their names remain locked in my heart and prayers. Firefighting is the nobelest profession of all.
@smokey1255 i always had the belief, that once you enter the fire service, you are always part of it til you die. i was only able to volunteer for 4 1/2 ys. money became an issue and im trying to become self employeed. as u say, no matter what you are part of the brotherhood. i find that beautiful.
This tragedy, and it's aftermath, was the inspiration and spark that eventually fueled the fire within us to form the Seattle Firefighters Pipes & Drums. We are here to help honor those who have gone before us and given the ultimate sacrifice.
this song to me is sad cause it was the last song i hurd be for sadie died by lighting she was my horse if you think it is dumb then u have no feelings at all i know how it feels to loose some one i do i lost a high school friend i lost my grandparents i lost my horse sadie
I thank you for this video. I am a retired firefighter. Many brothers have been lost. Maybe some day I will finally be able to lay it all to rest. Nothing ever brings more tears than events such as these for the fallen firefighters. May we keep all of them in our hearts. Thankyou.
Sad video... My father is a fallen seattle fireman. A few years before these men died, my dad died in '89 in the Blackstock lumber fire... Nice to remember.
My Grandpa knew 3 of the people on there and he also went to their weddings. My dad is a volunteer fire fighter and went to school with Carrie and Amy Shoemaker. What a sad loss. That must have been very rough for their families!
Truely great video, im a fireman in north carolina, and have always had the utmost respect for all of my fellow firemen. God bless, and once again, a great video. Thank you for posting it, it means alot.
thankyou for this...I was just at a memorial yesterday for the fallen firefighters in Kitchener Ontario...one of them being my Dad....you did a great job on this video and I want to thank you for your share...
These are the finest... I hope I have what it takes to stand in the shadow of these men... My Heroes the finest...

My cousin was married to Brown. I only met him a few times when I was really young. Great song and an even better tribute. Thankyou.
