if ya have not road in one off road you cant say! i have done all of what you said above...steep incline, mud, rivers...done it all! no problems...its amazing the clearance it does have and honest, you would be amazed at its capability off road...I agree with you about hard core...i would not take my truck anywhere i did not feel i could make it at least without a recovery vehicle. SIMPLE enough is KNOW your vehicle and its limitations and the FUN will never END

as far as the front wheel drive is concerned...50% of the time i am trailing with front wheel ONLY and the 4wd OR TCS control does not even engage

that is true maybe for your friends VW but my santa fe can handle holes,ditches,steep incline...so flat road yeah BUT can go further...just look at my videos...no flat roads

still not accurate an offroader with low range is for sure going to out do any vehicle with no low range gear but that is NOT a big deal on trails....low range great for rock crawling and steep decents or climbs.....regardless of off road capabilities the debate is that the santa fe CAN AND WILL handle itself on an offroad

your statement is not accurate.....they ARE meant to do off roading...other wise they would not have recovery hooks and AT tires. YES NOT EXTREME off road but majority of off roaders are not into ROCK CLIMBING or 6foot deep mud pits! i can hang on a trail with any jeep in my Hyundai!

Also, You must learn difference between 4x4 and Crossover, Santa Fe, Murano,Vw Tiguan.Audi Q5,are Crossovers no extreme 4x4.
