  • Happy birthday C64!

  • This live version i actually prefer to the original album version (home computer)

i am so glad i had the chance to see this and to hear it!!! it reminds of 1979/1980 when Kraftwerk toured England and i had the chance to see them at The Apollo In Manchester (England) Great Stuff from the grandfathers of electro/tecno pop.

  • this is one of the most important pieces of film in the last 40 years

  • cool and epic

  • @SkepticalPigeon You're funny!

  • @SkepticalPigeon

wow, first: skrillex sucks. second skrillex wasnt even born in 81 ...

  • @zirFizzzay Please dont feed the trolls.

  • teh ghey... deadmau5 would kick these guys asses

  • @yexey Electronic music wouldn't be where it is today without pioneers like Kraftwerk

  • @yexey saying Deadmau5 would kick Kraftwerk's asses is like saying Linkin Park would kick Black Sabbath's asses

  • @dreamtransmissions

this has nothing to dow ith black music and i dont even know why u bring it up. Anyway hip hop was copied from Europe so who cares?

  • @yexey huh? I think you're quoting the wrong person, my only comment here is in response to someone about Deadmau5

  • an meinem computer sitz ich hier und programmier die zukunft dir..

  • Man hearing bands such as Krafwerk and Cluster is better than sleeping even when your freakin tired that you might as well collapse on the keyboard, nah...oh...I think that could happen to me....O.o

  • and today's minimal and electro djs are think they are so original...

    fuck them. Kraftwerk rulez!!!

  • What style of music is this?

  • @Sprawl1978 ...this my pet was "new wave" everything was played thru big synths. everything went... it was a fun time!! i use to sing in one of these bands. huge in euro...of course americans aren't known for liking new and different music or art. when i went to london the first time i couldn't believe the difference... also check wall of voodoo and the b52s (live)

  • Bet they went through roadies pretty quick back then, lol.

  • can you say ahead of thier time?

  • How fucking WAY ahead of their time were these guys?

  • The greatest band to come out of Germany, and be pioneers of electro. Superb music, everything they did.

  • Bellissima versione, magari tornassero a suonare così, non la pseudo tecno che fanno dal 1991 rovinando quasi tutti i loro classici.

  • 1:27 genial!

  • Awesome rave party!

  • Damn, that drum machine is going to town. Absolutely wonderful. What a beat!

  • I'm surprised how much they move on this tour compared to their other performances, and IMO it doesnt really fit.

  • So damn great!

  • Why is the live version of Home Computer (this one) better than every other one I've ever heard? Oh yeah, because this one has F**KING DRUMS!!! :D

  • @NintendoSegaSonyGuy its Live and they are on fire!

  • @loverman123able

I was at that show, Emerald City, Cherry Hill NJ, probably the coolest show I ever saw/heard! We got to talk to Ralf and Florian after the show.

  • @kxhensel Ha, I was there, too. That was thirty years ago! Can you believe it?

  • 37 Leute haben keinen Heimcomputer und müssen ins I-net Cafe.. :/

  • they are my favorite group

  • 37 people are mentally challenged.

  • Does anyone else hear Genesis' "land Of Confusion" at 2:23? You KNOW Tony Banks listened to K-werk! the only bad thing about Kraftwerk is there Vynil is rare and expensive or its been listened to so much its trashed! Re-release some more LPs please!

  • The roots of techno minimal !!!!

    These guys were genius !!!!

  • I wish Kraftwerk would release a DVD with film footage from the "Computer World" tour 81 / 82.

    That would be awesome!

  • @Koerpermusikk

I was at the Hammersmith gig in 81 and again 91... awesome they were too!

  • @bumsweaters

Wow, I wish I could have seen them in 1981. The first time I was on a Kraftwerk concert was in 1991 - it was still an unique experience. Awesome!

  • @Koerpermusikk I bet if we all work together and ask, they would.

  • O G

  • I program my home computer,

    Beam myself into the future

  • holy shit i got goosebumps

  • Was this a single or an album release?

  • @miniroll32

  • so cool

  • KRAFTWERK ÜBER ALLES!!

'Ve arr ze ROBOTS und ve FoKKing RULE.'

Zherman enzhineering in full effeKt, ja.

EXcellent sound quality on this video- AWEsome live version!

  • G33KASM!! :]]]]

  • Strange music but good

  • thats fuked up yall.... didnt thumb my comment up to the top??... cmon

  • Nice hand dancing

  • Interesting version.

They should release some of those old live recrodings officially.

It's quite frustrating to buy all sort of bootlegs which sounds aweful.

  • I studied electronics in school and I find it fascinating that they built their own drum machines, etc. with a good old fashioned soldering iron and old school electronic components. Do you understand what the hell I'm talking 'bout Willis?

  • The best of the world KRAFT-WERRRRRRRK EN SU EPOCA DE ORO, saquen yá el DVD de este recital porfavorrrrrrr!!!

  • Simple Depeche.

  • @zsobrak BUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA!!!!!!!!!

  • Is it me or is Wolfgang's dancing with his legs together back and forth very sexy?

  • robots in 1981?

  • "an meinem computer sitz ich hier und programmier die zukunft hier."

"at my computer i'm sitting here programming the future."

i think they knew that this would be the music of the future :D

  • Nice! The robots are more speedly at this music version... I never seen this version before.

    Greetings from Brasil.

    Gilberto,

  • Aww yes. Some pioneers of electronic music.

  • Am Heimcomputer sitz ich hier,

    programmier die Zukunft mir

    :-)

  • Hahahaha:

I really like the end of this song, when the band abandones the stage.

  • GENIAL!!!

    Ein visionäres Stück electronic!

Manche Zeitgenössischen Musikschaffenden sollten sich schämen - 30 Jahre weiter!

    Gruß aus Salzburg!

  • from 1981? wow,so they make music allready over 10 years in this vid here.

  • Germans don't sing well but they are talented instrumentally.

  • Kraftwerk kicks ass!!! I think Florian's battery is almost dead, he's barely moving lol.

  • Great material to draw inspiration from.

  • Yeeeeee! Nostalqy! KRAFTWERK.- forever!

  • Yeeeeee! Nostalqy!

  • ÜBER COOL

  • What's a synthesizer, which Ralf Huetter's playing? It's amazing xD

  • funny to think the electro pop genre was just starting to become mainstreem around this time but kraftwerk were already way ahead of anyone. this honestly sounds like its 10, 20 years later

  • Moroder was an evangelist, Dolby and Numan were prophets, Daft Punk are the disciples...Kraftwerk - the deities.

  • Where was this shot?

  • It's strange how much american pop music actually got (stole) from Kraftwerk. Kraftwerk was big even back in the 70s, their greatest hits like Robots and Autobahn are the early stuff. A lot of the early 80s pop rock sound was simply copying off what Kraftwerk was doing. Some did well, like Madness, others sold well, but sounded like half-baked copies, like Devo.

  • Magic guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this is the shit to jam to when grocery shopping on an ostrich

  • @retrocareermelted That actually makes some sort of strange sense.

  • @retrocareermelted omfg i can totally see that happening lmfao

  • brilliant thanks for posting.i went to see them in the royal court, liverpool 81.what a performance!the kings of electro

  • Sounds like Radiohead royally ripped this off with idioteque.

  • @Benjomatic this song sounds nothing like idioteque

  • @biscuitchannel I don't entirely know why I said royally ripped off. What I should've said was "drawn influence from"

It's undoubtedly very different, but you can hear relatable elements in the music.

    Both great songs regardless.

  • @Benjomatic yeh without a doubt :D

  • omg thats fucking RAVE! GODS OF ELECTRONIC MUSIC!

  • This song is awesome, but it kinda scares me.

  • I do not understand why people think the Nazi's Kraftwerk

they say nothing offense on their lyrics

    just make music

if we follow the reasoning of superiority through a stereotype technological

we could say that evolution is racist

the music of the future is''Nazi''

  • The beginning sounds like... "my computer is the shit..." lol

  • @JeffroTV well in those times i think they where!! lol

  • Everyone shut the fuck up and listen to the damn song.

    :|

  • ...and where is Ferris Bueller?

  • cu krompir!

  • @NeighborhoodTroll - you Prick, clueless morons like you are everything thats wrong about you tube!

  • This doesn't sound like a gameboy. A gameboy sounds like this. Most modern pop, Hip Hop/Rap Techno etc owes much to Kraftwerk. Whoever is your favorite music, if indeed you like music, e-mail them with a copy of your silly remarks, Neigborhoodtroll. I have no doubt they'll school you. You're "that guy" who thinks music pops out of nowhere instead of evolves. Hop back in the musical oven and get a clue you're not done yet. Like it or not it's important and influential to what you listen to now.

  • @NeighborhoodTroll obvious troll is clearly obvious

  • @NeighborhoodTroll who says music was dead in the 80's? and i dare say, there's hardly an argument that kraftwerk wasn't revolutionary. even people i know who don't like kraftwerk still appreciate their revolutionary style. i mean, come on! they invented a new genre of music! which, i might add then branched off into many other genres. so basically, yu bin skoold

  • @yootoobah1 I AGREE WITH YOU MUSIC WASN'T DEAD IN THE 80'S MUSIC DIED IN THE 2000'S!

  • @NeighborhoodTroll I'm sorry to tell you this, but Kraftwerk were before Gameboys.

  • @EthanThePerson Which only illustrates the fact this music shouldn't have existed at all!

  • @NeighborhoodTroll

You shouldn't set foot outside your mother's basement.

  • @jsuess029 Ha! How clever and original!

  • @NeighborhoodTroll not smart but true , maybe u shouldn´t even have left her womb , or r u just kinda retarded n no 1 knows , not even u??? stopp talking bullshit bout stuff u obviously dont understand

  • @sm4rtmouth What did you even say? I can't comprehend your Neanderthal grammar. You're trying to tell me I have a mental retardation, and yet you can't even articulate an insult! How about you try going back to school.

  • @NeighborhoodTroll wenn du richtige grammatik haben wolltest du vollspasst , müßte ich deutsch mit dir reden, und nich ma hier biste mir ne korrekte rechtschreibung wert.

    so y r u able 2 answer me , lol ???

as u c im no native speaker and btw i dont care bout your grammar, most likely u understood me , or y did u post ur comment and reinsulted me????

never the less it wont change anything , u r just 1 lost ..... havin no clue bout this kinda music , so S.T.F.U. and get lost sucker !!!!!!

  • @sm4rtmouth I don't speak Nazi, or Communist, or whatever language you're speaking.

Other than that, well, you started it.

  • Hammerhart

  • Techno spaceship!!

  • Me parece increible que en 1981 hayan estado haciendo está música, y no a un nivel experimental. Te hace pensar harto sobre la cultura alemana

  • Kraftwork split the atom for techno music. Many thanks to their original vision, sound and style.

  • 3 things:

    1. oh my lord this is so cool!

    2. lol at Florian at 1:35

    3. Does anyone know how this awesome live version came to be?

  • @yootoobah1

    "lol at Florian at 1:35"

Yeah, that must have been one tough knob to turn to take all his concentration.

  • One of the most influential bands ever

  • how good........puts a real meaning to 'live'.......... today you go to see a live electronic artist and they use 'ableton live' and just fire loops.

similar i guess, but so not in a lot of ways..

and i am a ableton user

man i wish i could make music with all those machines...they are so unruly, yet , they make magic....fantastic.

  • In LA early 80ies there was a legendary hotel where ALL music-stars hang out. A heavy metall freak said "We all had crazy parties, but I never understood why those four businessmen in suits from germany lived there" :) :)

  • @alexnordh ^BEST COMMENT EVER^

  • @alexnordh LOL!! That's fucking hilarious!!

  • @alexnordh Dumb ass metal head doesn't know REAL music. -_-

  • 30 anni fa..erano già avanti di brutto!

  • go go gadget witchcraft! kraft, strict kraft.

  • Legends,,,,,,The true music Electronic.....

  • binary solo!

  • Geile Gruppe endlich man normale menschen hier ! ! !

  • I had a roommate at Boston U. in 1981 that was from Germany, who said you have got to check out Kraftwerk. So I visited him in Dusseldorf that summer and saw them live. Absolutely intoxicating! We even talked to them at a local "disco" - very nice guys. I've been a fan ever since!

  • @HiTopProd That is an incredible story! It's doubly cool that you're a BU alum, too; I'm class of '92.

  • dude im sooo stoned right now

  • [][][][][]][][][][][][][][][][1010101

  • is there any other oldskool electronic musicians like kraftwerk out there??

  • @TheEmceehero there is no one like kraftwerk anymore, they were truly original, but there are still talented pioneers out there check out my favorites to see a few :)

  • @TheEmceehero Ishkur's Guide's got a good selection. There are many of them--Bruce Haack, Jean-Michel Jarre and the British band White Noise are just a few off the top of my head, all with very different styles. If you're interested, much material of theirs is uploaded here to YouTube. I have uploaded an entire Bruce Haack album on my channel if you're interested. I'm not sure if this is exactly what you're looking for, so forgive me if it's not.

  • @TheEmceehero There's also a band I've heard of called P.R. Computer who some say is comparable to Kraftwerk.

  • what are those machines behind the group and what is the name af the keyboards they are using

  • the pioneers of everything i love about electronic music :)

  • sometimes I wonder if Kraftwerk are really human?

  • @INHeadKay lol I wonder the same thing. I love this band but the vinyl inner album cover use to scare me when I was a kid.

  • I´ve seen them LIVE ´81 in the "Satory Saal" in Cologne and ´91 in the Philipshalle Düsseldorf. Thanx for the posting ;o)
