  • Those with PTSD often have executive dysfunction problems that seem to be caused through long-term stresses that vibe to the frontal lobes of the brain. However, the DSM does not currently classify this problem as a separate disorder or give reasons for example by the VA to consider such as secondary to a veterans PTSD. There is not enough research on this issue.

  • @jimsavage I 100% agree. Since going through an extremely traumatic event I have had significant difficulties with executive functioning. Recently I tried to do the wisconsin card sorting test and just failed miserably.

  • nice analogy - orchestra conductor. realizing how important is executive functions. i'm like the disorganized execute you are talking about.
