I don't get why we cheer, clap, jump up & down at football matches, concerts and then come to church feeling that God doesn't deserve that same kind enthusiasm? Seriously? Shouldn't it be even louder and more exuberant because hey, we're worshipping God! Praise is the response to what's in your heart, what God is to you, so yes, go ahead and be serious & solemn, cos I don't know about you, but my God is personal, fun, exciting, trendy, creative, expressive!

Besides, these are definitions of Praise from the bible.

"Halal" means to loudly boast of God excitedly, enthusiastically & explosively. (2 Chr 20:21)

"Yadah" means to throw out the hand in praise (2 Chr 20:21)

"Tehillah" means to sing the praises of God spontaneously (2 Chr 20:22)

Style of worship is unique to the individual and community. There is no single prescribed way that one should worship. Looking through Scripture we get many glimpses. David dancing naked nad psalms like psalm 150 are examples of 'jumping around' worship - and other Scriptures and traditions point to a more 'serious' and 'solemn' worship. Both ways can be genuine and full of love for God. To suggest that this isn't real worship is not only inaccurate, but extremely arrogant.

I completely disagree with you. God tells us to make a joyful noise unto the Lord. A reason why a lot of people I know don't want to go to church is because it`s exactly that...serious, solemn and boring. We don't need music to pump us to worship God. Sometimes you can just praise with your mouth, but music is great too. Satan used to be the worship angel. We took his place. Now he wants to make sure he controls the music. It's thoughts like that that will keep him controlling the industry.
