  • Led is not more efficient than CCFL :S

  • Fictional Internal Industry memo:

Those LED bulbs last too darn long, let's stick 'em with those Compact Fluorescent Bulbs!

Make sure the price of LED bulbs remains artificially high!!

  • Standard light bulbs will be banned in 2012 in Mexico too. Looks like this is a global agenda to get us sick, just like fluoride on water/toothpaste, MSG, aspartame, mercury on vaccines high fructose corn syrup and on dental amalgams and all sort of chemicals and toxic elements. They just love to poison us, but surely the ones scheming all of these crimes against humanity will go to hell.

  • @rayearth05 Yep just another solution for the pharmaceutical company's to provide another drug to cure us, they don't want prevention, they want a drug to treat it, so creating more will mean more money for them.....

  • They are not safe...it is about their agenda-AGENDA 21 to destroy the soil, water, air, food...to annihilate men and women-these CFL are deadly near a living organism. We are electrical in our bodies-and that powers the chemical exchanges within the body. RF and UV are deadly to living tissue...the CFL bulbs are only made in China...remember the poisonous drywall from China, the melamine in pet food, the lead on childrens clothes, or other products???Smallpox blankets, remember???

  • At a larger distance, about 30cm from the bulb the indicator is at 0, at 5:00 , so unless you stay under the bulb all the time, you gonna be fine.Of course it is a thing to take into consideration, since to many of these will still have a negative effect, but all electric devices create electromagnetic field,so switching a bulb won't save you,the most pollution you get is by staying at the pc,but since this is a necessity now days,i guess we're screwed:),no wonder everybody has cancer and stuff

  • by 2012 all people have to use these ?? are they jokin ? no, that's the joke.

  • Where can I get one of those meters?

  • In Australia our incompetent government banned the sales of incandescent bulbs in favour for these useless and dangerous bulbs. The Australian Labor party thinks it can single handed save the planet! These new dirt bulbs are also annoyingly slow to light up, use more power, are very expensive, and last just months instead of years! Typical of the "sheep mentality" we have in this country, Australians just shut up and put up with it!

  • @aldgatecellar thank you

  • What happen about no closed caption on part. 2 ?

  • heres what they don't say, the bulbs can be tweaked......power surges to emit even more radiation.......so can your laptop.......look at all the lights on them.......ever notice lights varying in intensity in your home?

  • @winitred000 yea, thats from big-usage devices like the A/C turning on...

  • Can you say Quackpot? The headaches are caused by eye strain of the lamps flicker. Duh.

  • can you say, hyperchondriac. and scam artists. dirty electricity refers to waveform and power factor, these people are snake oil salesmen. The ignorance knows no bounds.

  • I was at a GE seminar last summer and they are also in the works of redesigning the incadescent bulb to a more reliable filament and to cut the cost of power consumption. Problem is they predicted a 3 year turn around for the consumer, but not confident to beat the 2012 deadline.

LED is great, but an LED potlight by Juno/Halo is around $200, retrofit LED insert lamps around 2/3 that price.... a replacement LED lamp for teh 50 Par 20 is $35 each...still pricey.

  • I have old wiring in my home and the energy bulb made a buzzing sound and the blew out the whole fixture. I think they are especially bad ( financially) if you live in a 100 year old building. I put one in a lamp and it was fine but I don't think I want it in my house anymore b/c I don't want to expose my cats to dirty energy. They only weigh 10 pounds.

  • sometimes when u touch electrisity i feel pain! :(

  • yay i use LED's

  • A friend of mine posted this on face book today.. and I can't believe it.. I have had headache for two weeks now.. Just had a MRI done today had one one in March because of my headaches. no meds was helping and not even an injection.. When I was in the hospital they had a physo doctor come and talk to me.. he even said I wan't crazy .. and here I sit at my desk with a swirl bulb.. its gonna go now all of them..

  • I have migraines from florescent :(

  • The thing we MUST DO is petition the US congress (for US) and the Government (for Canada) to REPEAL the laws enacted to FORCE us to use these bulbs in 2012. It is OUTRAGEOUS!

It is even more outrageous when you consider that in just a few years, we will have affordable LED lighting which will be superior to CFL and with no mercury, no RFI, and and no headaches.

PETITION your lawmakers. Use the "candle analogy": "Did it take a ban on candle illumination to get people to switch to electric?

  • @vibratingstring Your outrageous. TODAY LED bulbs can be bought for $25, and last at least 10 years, using 4 watts... In another 2 years, they will be much cheaper.

Headaches from CFLs is from the flicker of older designs. Buy a new electronic ballast and you'll have no problems... RFI is everywhere, we'd all be dead by now if you were right.

  • @B1r6m4n

I agree with LED bulbs. To me, that is the correct solution,m and laws that force us to buy mercury bulbs is insane.

If new ballasts are better, well, that's great! But it doesn't help you when you are in a building with old ballasts. Which is all over the place. Offices which I cannot control.

  • @B1r6m4n

And I am not one of these RFI maniacs. I am a Ham radio licensee. I know the difference between hazardous RF and innocuous, from 100 years of experimental as well as anecdotal evidence.

  • @vibratingstring Whats your callsign? Looks to me like nothing wireless can hurt me, short of sitting on a repeater antenna...!

  • LED's FTFW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Use LED's they are better!

  • wtf is this "dirty electricity" meter? SHe dosent even say the units.

  • @warner735 i think she's measuring electromagnetic/radio emissions.

  • @uN1Qu3DZ it would be nice of her to say that so a real scientist could confirm it

  • @warner735 yea, true. but radio emissions are far from the worst thing in CFLs - they only inject noise in the power grid and disturb AM radio but that's all... It's the UV radiation output that is of more concern.

  • @uN1Qu3DZ have they actually found exactly how much UV radiation is emitted?

  • @uN1Qu3DZ

Some people get triple vision while reading under fluorescent. I'm one of them. I've had to disable the fluorescent bulbs in my offices over the years.

  • I personally know two people that get headaches from fluorescent lights.

  • The guy from Phillips has a vested interested in CFL bulbs since his company sells them. He claims to have never heard of the Stetzerizer. The Graham-Stetzer filter and meter were invented by Professor Martin Graham, University of California-Berkeley and an engineer named Stetzer. I am absolutely stunned at how well they work. Some EMF outlet readings in my home were astronomical. My work office was worse, with readings above 1800. The filters easily brought all readings into the safe range.

  • The Lady in the first part, with the rash all over her face? You can see how heavily her make up is put on, not near as much as anyone else in the videos. At 4:56 of this one, looked in to it, that's a light meter, of course the needle's going to jump, it's measuring the amount of light coming off the bulb. I stopped watching at that point. No one mentioned anything about the fact that there are different watts, the effects on people with S.A.D., this reporting is biased and terrible.

  • curly bulbs suck--they produce less light than the packages claim--just another attempt to herd the sheep in a new direction which is not better

  • When I read the following from the Stetzerizer website I knew I was dealing with bullshit:

"Certified by the Government of Kazakhstan as the official means of measuring RF Energy on building wires"

I don't like the bulbs either, but mainly because they are very expensive and degrade in brightness very fast.

  • People are missing the point: The bulbs are being FORCED on us thanks to eco-freaks and their global warming swindle. Also, the bulbs are NOT more energy efficient in colder climates. I'm already stocking up on incandescent bulbs, and I've got a big basement.

  • @designwrite yup, the eco-friendly sh** bulbs are lots dimmer in cold climates, they take a long while to warm up. even the old-fashioned fluorescent tubes are better.

  • @designwrite

you could try using LEDs. They are much better for the environment and last longer then CFLs

  • Lucifer's Light

  • First: The enclosed A-shape CFL @ 0:34 is reading quite low in comparison to the open spirals.

Second, Dr. Newman: CFLs cause him headaches? Do the regular fluorescent lights in the hospital not affect him?

Finally: What about retrofit halogen bulbs (e.g. Philips Halogena)? So they're not as energy-efficient as CFLs, but they're certainly better than traditional incandescents!

  • Shut thy pie hole satan

  • Are people simply not aware or are they forgetting that these CFL's are also full of mercury - one of the most toxic heavy metals if you come in contact with it. If you break one of these bulbs your chances of mercury toxicity are very high. Green? Ya, right! Maybe better for the environment in a sense that they use less electricity but what about having these bulbs in your house with your family?? Like I said, if they break you are exposing your family & pets to heavy metal toxicity.

  • CFLs only have 3.5-5 milligrams of mercury. The majority of the US is powered by coal. Running incandescents for the same amount of time as a CFL, will release far more mercury into the atmosphere, where it's the most dangerous, just by burning coal. Even running a CFL on coal and then tossing into the trash, releases less mercury into our environment in it's lifetime than incandescents powered with coal. 60,000 babies a year are born with mercury related diseases from coal burning.

  • The cfl manufacturers recommend that, should you drop and break one of the bulbs and it falls on your carpet, you should "cut the affected area out and dispose of it." Oh, yeah, I really want those kinds of bulbs in my house!!

  • Then buy LED bulbs. More expensive, but won't burn out and have no glass.

CFLs are not as fragile as people who've never even used them assume them to be. Funny people start freaking out about CFLs, but no one seems to give a rats ass when people smash 4 foot flouro tubes in the trash. Or that schools, hospitals and other public places are filled with them, hovering above children all day long, for like, the past 80 years now!

Don't play stupid with them and you'll be fine.

  • And you're taking their quote out of context. They only "suggest" cutting out the area if the area is frequented by children. Like their bedroom floor, or where they play. For most people, cleanup with a wet paper towel is all that is needed, unless you like crawling on your floors. The broken glass poses more of a risk than the minuscule amount that is released from the bulb.

  • @caiatransplant show me where they have recommended that...

  • @caiatransplant This is the one thing that this woman says that I can agree with.

  • mercury in the atmosphere is subject to natural conditioning and half-life degradation. mercury in your home comes in direct contact to you. take your pick

  • @kingdmen ill take the bulbs :D Mercury is mercury, if you break a bulb, open the windows fro a few minutes, no harm done...

  • I like how these people get all hot and bothered over arbitrary numbers coming out of products marketed to ghost hunters and the "electromagnetic hypersensitivity" crowd. The Stetzerizer, etc. are nothing more than overpriced gauss meters, which consist of a few dollars worth of parts. The earth alone produces a field of about 100 volts per meter. these minute electromagnetic fields are completely harmless and are present everywhere.

  • I get headaches from reading outdoors, its just eyestrain. Some people's EYES may be more sensitive to the artificial brighter incandescents. As for the other symptoms Im tired all the time from lack of sleep, who isnt tired all the time? the main problem; people. The mind is a powerful thing.

  • Most of those lamps aren't even ecofriendly. Be very cautious when buying "simple" things such as lamps. Don't just take them for granted!

  • I am a development engineer for Philips Lighting CFL, I've been working there for 5 years now, and test our complete portfolio on mechanical and electrical properties.. Like Jondea0 said, there is no difference with any TL which are used everywhere.. For that matter, I never heard of that Stetzerizer RF meter, if it even is one (i couldn't find any technical data or even an manual for it on the net) Needs more sources and background information. They make it look like another 'conspiracy'.. sigh

  • lol, don't bother dude. It doesn't matter how many peer reviewed, double blind, controlled scientific studies that have been done show that NO ONE is capable of detecting the difference in light emitted by incands or cfls or capable of being "electrosensitive". All you have to do is throw a retarded tabloid TV program on the air that shits out a laughable "story" like this with lots of made up bullshit like "dirty energy" and "oh noes my magic meter is reading 500 whatsits!" and people eat it up

  • Hmmm,, they "Meet Industry Standards" Well who the hell sets the Industry Standards? There you will find the corruption. For us here in the US it is the USDA, and others Like the Dept. of Health. All corrupt, if a research scientist working in these government departments find out the truth they usually get fired!

  • Aren't these the same people that bitched about Wifi killing them?

  • Take an AM radio and put it in between radio stations. Move your radio near a CFL bulb, you will hear the RF noise coming from the bulb!

  • I think these god damn things are responsible for my 6 months of headaches. I'm going back to tungsten. CFL's save no money any way cuz of power factor correction.

  • After seeing this, mine are going in the garbage. What do the 4 foot bulbs read ?

  • jondea0 is right it is rubbish

  • Yep jondea0 is right it is rubish

  • I can't understand this we have had the fluorescent bulb for may may years with no complaints. These energy saving ones are the same idea just a lot smaller

Its the same story with wifi and phone frequency people are complaining about. It just seams to me like a load of rubbish.

  • Also, see other means the government is using to make you and your family sick. Google or youtube "Chemtrails"

  • It's the Jew Lizardman Illuminati!

  • Government Soft Kill Weapons = Eugenics

Cellphones and cell towers, these new so-called green enviromental bulbs, computers all giving off radiation and frequencies. Cellphones have now been proven to cause brain tumors. Bombard the population with deadly waves of frequencies and radiation. Vaccines with murcury and other dangerous additives to hurt our kids minds and give adults cancer. Planes flying over spraying us with who knows what.

These Elite want us all dumbed down $ dead! Wake up

  • With the new brain scaning devices that we have how hard could it be to do a test to see if one or the other is causing an efect on diferent sections of the brain.

  • - I call bullshit on the first woman being "highly qualified". What are those qualifications?

    - 05:00 -- That guy is doing a measurement. Notice the LUDICROUS falloff at any reasonable distance. How close are everyday people going to get to those bulbs? What dumbass sits next to a bulb?

I'd sooner talk to an optician. Lighting strains the muscles in the eye and effects how people blink.

I'd also vote on LED-based bulbs. Those are awesome.

This is completely unrelated to MF sensitivity.

  • she didnt even say what units she was measuring, '500, 50' 500 or 50 what?!

  • So don't be fucking lazy. The device label was clear. Go fucking google it and then stfu for the rest of us.
