This is fantastic!!! I finally get to hear the song everyone's been bitching about. I love that JD can't remember most of the words. I don't blame him. How many songs has he written? Like 500 literally.

@delusionaldiminutive I've got 392 on my iTunes... anyone else have a more accurate number? I think the most surprising thing is that I like pretty much all of them.

We've had this discussion on the mountain goats forums and it's pretty difficult to come up with an accurate number but it's somewhere around 580.\
Also, I love my response from last year. I totally understand why JD hates Golden Boy. I hate it too.

he's drunk! to the person who said this is under protest, yes, he never plays it and doesn't know it, but he's that level of drunk where you want to play things to make your fans happy and he forgot that he doesn't play it.

At a show I attended, he said he never plays this. I love the pissed off and bored tone in his voice throughout. He's singing it under protest.
