  • you know you can buy a small filter that goes on your bottle (made by steripen) that filters out that nasty stuff and sentiment...you can get them on Amazon.com or ebay...I believe they are around 12 bucks...sometimes maybe cheaper....I believe the filter is .4micron...I believe but you should make sure of that in case you want to purchase it....thx for the vid...

  • @SuperTblu I actually picked one of those up a year or so ago, it works out great! You can see my review of it here:

    youtube.com/watch?v=UdPoV0fslo4

Thanks for checking out my videos, and thanks for the suggestion!

  • Does the UV light penetrate the plastic bottle to sterilize the water on the threads and the outside of the bottle?

  • @CCWSig No, UV does not penetrate plastic or glass.

  • i like the sweet water filter botle

  • nice vid very help full

  • how is battery life in cold weather conditions? great review thanks!

  • @TheBgcheez seems to be fine for me, however I have the adventurer which uses the CR123 batteries instead of the AA other steripens use, so I wouldnt want to speak for the other models. Thanks for watching!

  • thanks for the review. I just got the SteriPen Adventurer Opti. It's the same product but comes with an LED light. Looking forward to drinking from the Great Lakes in the coming weeks!

  • lol in this case i would opt for melted snow that you prefilter with a bandana then steripen it. great vid keep it up

  • @yarrick513 haha I would have preferred that also, but for demonstration purposes I took the plunge and drank the lovely creek water :D

  • Nice review, got one of these for trips south of the border!

  • DO THE DRYFLY REVIEW PLEASE!!!

  • @speakwhileyoucan

Im getting the aquamira Frontier filter strawr and using the pen as well. The straw filters cost 12 bucks and what I am going to do is use the UV pen in the water and then suck the water out of the bottle with the straw filter. That is the best combination I can think of that will treat your water completely. Thout I would share with everyone. Straw filters weight less than an ounce and the UV pens are pretty light too. Use the 2 in combination for best results.

  • @Origin305 Great idea, I will look into that for sure as soon as finals are over in two weeks!

  • Hey dude great review. Welcome to the mainland. I usually carry the cone shaped coffee filters in my water purification kit. They work great for pre-filtering, they are very light weight and they can be burned as fire tender in an emergency. Take it easy bro. By the way you will probably like the gun laws in Kentucky much better!

  • Pretty Cool......CR123 batteries are expensive for sure but they rock.

  • Great review! I usually carry a bandanna in my daypack to prefilter my water and then use tabs or boil.

  • A bandanna is a great idea, I will be picking up one for sure, thanks for the idea, and thanks for watching!
