try to lower the heat a bit, I think you're burning the butter or the cooking oil. Start with a medium heat on your stove. If it continues to be a problem, it might be the thickness or thinness of your pan. Thick pans are much better for heat distribution and have much less of a tendency to burn foods. Good luck!!!
