  • RICKY YOU CHEEKY KUNT HAHAHAHA

  • WHY SO SERIOUS?

  • I love this guy, he doesn't give a fuck about anything. He's my Idol.

  • "And thank god for making me an atheist"

You stole my line Ricky!! I say it EVERY god damned day!

  • haha thank you Ricky Gervais for actually making the golden globes watchable

  • I could spend an hour telling you how bad the production of this video is.

  • "And thank God, for making me an atheist."

Great line, not laughed like that for years. British comedy is years ahead of that American stuff. They seem to have a fun deficiency!

  • Gervais is seriously a God

  • He is brilliant!

  • The Troll Master! xD Loved it!!

  • tbh he calmed all his jokes down in 2012

    disappointed

  • @haqzuk He got told to. Hence why he wont be back next year.

  • P.S. next time send over your funniest comedian to do a British Awards show, Tim Allen or "Ellen" will be side-splitting I'm sure.

  • this is great, i love one of our clever, intelligent comedians taking the piss out of the Americans, at the end of the day they are "jokes" if your celebrities weren't such idiots Ricky wouldn't have such material, grow a sense of humor USA, loved the yanks trying to stumble to find a clever "come-back" - hardly, this is Ricky Gervais, just a shame Bernard Manning isn't still around.

  • Robert downey is such a fag.

  • This is GREAT!

  • He is authentic... anyone who doesn't like things said by their name are just hypocrits.. I liked all this "star-crashing" things he said.. Cause they were all honest and not kiss-assing.. Good job....

  • I heard no jokes only truth...

  • @justsomefellow Is that you Tom?

  • Steve Buscemi looked like the walking dead. God damn.

  • @s13n1 Um, he always looks like the walking dead D;

  • Great lines, but... his poor delivery warrants a free pizza.

  • One of the best trolling runs the world has ever seen!

  • G-R-E-A-T!

  • face the facts Ricky is the perfect host. he takes the hot air out of those from la la Land and he didn't lie at all

  • He didn't say anything at all that was not true. If anyone was offended then it just shows that they consider themselves to be so much more than they actually are.

  • @iLIKEtotallyL0VEit Very well said.

  • He is the only reason that many viewers would bother watching this rubbish ceremony, and they know it. Ricky = Legend.

  • Hire a comedian to host a show and not expect him to tell jokes, come on Hollywood! You could Johnny Depp loved the joking! Ricky Gervais is the man!

  • I cant say how spot on that performance was. true brilliant bit. U da man Gervais

  • ...and tim allen hahahahaha classic

  • and he got the gig for the next year so all these 'film stars' can fuck themselves

  • It really annoys me that these celebrities with millions in their bank accounts can't be taken down a peg or two by some mild jokes, and must have this huge ego and status thing going on. Eugh the fucking arrogant bastards!!

  • Well all that means a lot comming from a fat crocked teeth british man.

  • @BearsDkills LOL are you angry?

  • hahaha That Tim Allen Joke Floored me. LOL

  • fucking awesome.

  • This is only really controversial because it is British humour on an American award ceremony where usually everything is glazed with that sickeningly-sweet-to-the-point-it's-unbearable attitude of (pretend) to love thy neighbor.

To me Gervais is saying nothing you wouldn’t hear on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross, still it's a great watch. I don't think I would bother if Ricky wasn't the host.

  • Ricky just don't give two and a fuck, and it's so blatantly obvious xD

    Love it.

  • fuck, I was certain there was going to be a cancer joke at 3:10

  • Some balls.

  • british humour is the best.

  • What happens when you put British humour in a room of Americans?

    A very awkward show

  • "..I saw one of you in an episode of Bonanza"

  • Hollywood deserve shit thrown back at ´em :)

  • haha deniro´s laugh

  • I just had to watch this again as a reminder that there are times when great satire often comes at the expense of expected laughter and graciousness. Thank you, Ricky, for making the 2011 GG's not only memorable, but classic.

Much like Colbert's hosting of the correspondent's dinner with W all those years ago.

  • exactly when will the 'famous scientologist' come out of the closet?

  • 5:28

    BOOM ROASTED!

  • 2:55

Steve Buscemi realizes where he is.

  • brilliant!! those celebs should chill the fuck out. it's not like they saved the world with their acting and outrageous arrogance!

  • ahahahaha stuffy full of themselves celebrities cant take a joke. this was awesome and i loved it.-

  • fuck hypocrisy. keep it up ricky

  • Honestly, which douchebag complains about stuff like that? I know Depp, Downey jr and DeNiro liked it, I like it and everyone else here as well. Ricky's fucking funny and even managed to make me looking forward to the next Golden Globes he'll host again, yeah.

  • Not his best, really. Some of those jokes were pretty flat and I'm a fan. With regards to him being offensive I say fair play to him, the whole thing's just a big old slap on the back for people that have too much money anyway.

  • It's great that Ricky have the balls to play out these big "stars". And also to see that a lot of them have selfironi

  • Brilliant. Just brilliant.

  • ..the other is Tim Allen

  • Anyway glad he's back the big stars who are legendary like DeNiro liked it, DeNiro phoned him up the next day and said 'fuck em'!! Its the little stars and the humourless arseholes that complained. Hopefully he just rips through the pompous hollywood guys again and brings them back down to earth. Viewing figures are going to be sky high!!

  • "hugely mean spirited with mildly sinister undertones" are you kidding? This is Gervais at his nicest, don't tempt him to really be cruel (which I would LOVE to watch) keep it up Ricky, we love you

  • I still can't believe they only gave him 6 and a half minutes screen time. He was pure genius.

  • That's awesome how he's making these actors pissed off by stating all of the bad crap that they've done. The worst part is that they are still being treated by royalty.

  • @BirdZerk Royalty? Bad comparison the monarchy in my country (England) are for the most stupid people alive. Those happy with a monarchy demanding deference, taking vast amounts, making us appear backwards and being a ludicrous cap on society are stupid, moronic and ignorant. Some of the Hollywood arseholes need to lighten up but some have done great works/worked their way up. (Brad Pitt dressed as a chicken ffs!!) These are people that have achieved stuff, actual royalty is for cretins only.

  • @BirdZerk01 I mean just look at Gervais, he and Merchant created the original Office and then the brilliant remake. 500 years ago royalty were relevant but we supposedly live in a democracy. The monarchy lovers are almost always women and almost always 60+. Those that oppose and ridicule them include Hitchens, Dawkins (you know two of the cleverest men alive) and Gervais himself. They've done great things. The monarchy is an ancient relic that should disgust anyone of intellect.

  • apparently if your net worth exceeds 20 million dollars you are required to shove a permanent stick up your ass; and then stripped of your sense of humor.

  • Please welcome Ashton Kutcher's dad... Bruce Willis!

    Hehe.

  • Honestly, WANT TO KISS HIM.

  • I used to not find him funny, but i now live him. What a hero haha

  • laughed mt arse off what a brave man what fun watching the americans squim at home truths

  • He makes me proud to be English. :')

  • brilliant

  • "... the other, is Tim Allen."

  • It was the funniest Golden Globe in history and the only reason is RICKY GERVAIS. I loved it and I don't care about some stupid hollywood assholes who could feel truth hurts sometimes...:D:D:D

  • hahaha! ricki is the best! ........and thak gid for making me an atheist! hahahaha!

  • haha the last comment is the best bit!!!!

  • ENGLAND

  • loved it!!

  • Ricky Gervais: King of Banter.

  • Ricky I'm straight but I WANT YOUR BABIES

  • what ever man!! when ricky tells it..... if its not funny its true!

  • to be fair, this is one of the few times I found Ricky truly funny

  • 2:59 Ahahaha! I love it! Steve Buscemi looks like he's desperately trying to find an exit before being flayed by Gervais! XD

  • hate halle berrys face...

  • It made for uncomfortable viewing... for them but let's face it most people in that room were laughing, so fuck'em!

  • I swear, Ricky Gervais was the only interesting part of the ceremony. He hosts to make people laugh, not to cater to Hollywood.

  • "Thank you God, for making me an atheist"

  • i think some joke is too much, and some is just great

  • 7:04 - 7:14 ...Wow douche chills....

  • Fuck being arrested with a pound of coke...Tim Allen should be behind bars for that awful comeback....

  • Hollywood needs to get over it'self and laugh FFS. The jokes he says are based on the news already heard around america and the world so it isn't such a shock to hear about Charlie Sheen or Tom Cruise jokes.

  • Even though I usually find Ricky Gervais funny I think that Robert Downey Jnr was right in saying that he was being mean spirited. Some of the things he said weren't funny, in fact most just made me feel uncomfortable because of their rudeness and so I'm sure it was a completely uncomfortable night for the people there. At the end of the day he was hired to host and be funny and make the night enjoyable. Yes Hollywood is fake but I just felt that he was unnecissarily horrible to most.

  • @SophAllen : get over it.

  • @SophAllen: i agree. it was an awards ceremony, not a celebrity roast. gervais' material was funny but not appropriate for the event. bobcat goldthwait's been invisible ever since his little episode with leno. just sayin ....

  • @SophAllen Grow up.

  • @Arkantos117 I actually think what I said was pretty mature? I said I like Ricky Gervais but I think he was a bit horrible and I personally dont find just poking fun at people relentlessly that funny. Fair play, some of the things he said were true, but I felt uncomfortable watching this myself, so I can imagine how the people there felt. I was just saying that whilst some may think he was funny, I dont - a fairly two sided comment, so I dont really see how I need to "grow up".

  • @SophAllen It's not mature when you can't take a joke and when you feel uncomfortable at the meer thought of somebody mocking someone.

What right have those celebrities got to not be mocked liek everyone else?

  • @Arkantos117 I can take a joke, as I said, I usually find his stuff funny, and he does predominantly mock people with his humour.I didnt say that they have a "right" not to be mocked because they are "celebs" - are you suggesting that they deserve to be made fun of because they are "celebrities"? When I heard that Angelina Jolie had complained, my first thought was that she was ridiculous and hollywood cant take a joke, but having watched the ceremony again, I think he crossed the line :s

  • love this guy

  • he is just the best...

  • Nice to know Robert Downey Jr is a stuck up prick, with no sense of humour.

  • bellatrix at 7:00!!

  • When the camera was on Steve Buscemi, he was so worried! He thought was next in line to get roasted. Amazing performance by Ricky, loved it.

  • "Thank you God...for making me an atheist."

    Gets me every time hahahahaha

  • Ricky Hervais = Best comdeian ever..

  • What a star telling Hollywood they are bunch of fakers

  • The Tourist WAS horrible for the information of anyone who hasn't seen it.

  • L M A O @ Tim Allen joke

  • NEW YORK POST Headlines :Wicked Ricky's vicious quips likely to cost him Globes gig.

  • I love that when Ricky says the walking dead the camera switches to a suspicious looking Steve Buscemi :D

  • His jokes were funny, but he made the mistake of making fun of his audience. It was funny to me because he wasn't making fun of me.

  • Comment removed

  • @didondio But that's the whole point of roasts! You're meant to make fun of the people there.

Personally, I think that if your ready to laugh at jokes about someone else but not at yourself , like you say, then it just makes you a bit mean and selfish, to be honest. Watch the link below, It's Ricky accepting an award in the UK and his legend of a producer, who is black and in a wheelchair starts cracking up when Picky takes the piss out of him. /watch?v=psPqPWV0kpU

  • @didondio The audience is us! lol Not the stuck up hollywood types. He made that show for us so we could laugh at them.

  • the best award show ever!

  • Ashton kutchers dad bruce willis looooooollllll lol lol lol!!!!!!!!!!!!! So funny

  • And thank you to God.... for making me an atheist...

  • Ricky RULESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

  • its not as much "controversial" as much as it was, um, FUNNY! this just proves that hollywood cant laugh at itself.

  • Originally they were like "You'll never see him at this award show again." But then they were like OH WAIT the ratings skyrocketed once people found out that Ricky was saying whatever he wanted. We should probably invite him back again.

  • I'm surprised he didn't mention Iron Man

  • I burst out laughing at that last one.

  • very honest and thats what hollywood dont like, well done ricky....

hugh hefner joke the beast one

  • Two reasons why the jokes at the Oscars failed...

    James Franco

    Anne Hathaway

  • @yeah, i guess your right about that

  • Thank you to God for making me an atheist.... classic Ricky.

  • lately golden globes are worth watching over oscar by far, and this man is the only reason.

  • I think the room made the jokes seem hostile. but the jokes themselves, not so much. I think that Ricky knew after the first few jokes that it was going to be a tough room, so he was really just trying to get through them as quick as possible. But I don't know why the globes would fire him, after all they wrote the jokes for him to tell. Plus the tourist was terrible. Tim Allen is funny, but not as accomplished as Tom hanks, and Downey Jr. has had drug problems. Nothing we did not know.

  • @MrAdamloring1985 he would've wrote his own

  • he's just saying what everyone else is thinking!

  • He is the anti-spirit of Hollywood. Humility comes in many forms. Hollywood has difficulty with reality or tolerance it appears.

  • Robert De Niro's face was priceless!

  • Atheist FTW !

  • He was great

  • what a champion!

  • when robert d jr commented about the "sinister" undertones, i automatically laughed. gervais was stating FACTS. He was in movies that sound like pornos and he is infamous for his drug addiction years. cant take a joke? than dont be a fucking famous person, you are filthy rich and you are all mostly uneducated hs dropouts pretending to have a purpose in life. gervais couldve been WAY HARSHER such as "he was also in iron man..."

  • @kenyadigthemusic i think he was joking as well mate...

  • he is exactly what the golden globes needs as a host... absolutely hilarious !!!

  • Best f***ing award show. Ever. Let him host the Oscars.

  • wtf, what the hell is a kind comedian? what are these "i shit gold im an actor" douchebags on about? why cant they laugh at themselves for a change, hollywood is a sick and perverse institution, no wonder they are all so defensive and sensitive.

  • russel brand in 25 years.

  • @ashgrover I'm pretty sure Ricky and Russell are the same age...

  • @Joshbuckler haha- thanks! i just had to double check... they're 14 years apart.

  • hes fucking class fair play i love him

  • Hilarious, I think he could and should have gone further. :P

  • Ricky makes me proud to be British

  • The best ever golden globe

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!! Awesome!!

  • Absolutely brilliant. Spot on and very funny!

  • These Hollywood phonies can dish it out, but they can't take it. I loved watching Ricky make them squirm in their seats.

  • @spactick TOTALLY AGREE!!! They take the piss out of people all the time cos they think they're above everyone else, but noone's allowed to do it back to them. They expect everyone else to praise them constantly.

  • Last year was funnier

  • This is what makes Ricky so bloody good. He isn't afraid and he takes the risks in comedy... like the old school Eddie Murphy

  • hollywood takes themselves waaaaay too seriously.

people paid enourmous amounts of money to act like someone else.

i'll never understand why the world cares what they think.

    who cares?

  • fuck off he was funny and right

  • Americans need to lighten up! Us Aussies thought he was HILARIOUS!

  • RG's jokes compromise sinister undertones eh? Sinister compared to what climbing into you neighbours under age daughters bedroom in the middle of the night while high on crack.

  • He was a little rough but common...everyone knows he plays rough..
