  • The smart tabs helped, but it was the right prop that really did the trick. I got a power lift (jack plate) this winter that will go on the boat in the spring. I think at that time my ability to move the motor up, down, in and out will allow me to remove the tabs. It's no big deal really, They go on and off easy once you have the brackets installed.

  • Have you taken them off yet? If so do you have to trim up more with the tabs on? Do they seem to push the bow down at speed any? I'm looking to put them on a bass boat and can't find anyone who has smart tabs on a shallow draft boat.

  • I don't know, haven't taken them off yet to compare. They helped before I got the right prop on, and since then the boat has performed great, winning an ACBS regatta for its class this past July. Then the weather turned (rain, tropical storms, etc) and the boat didn't get used much since the beginning of August. I want to take the Smart Tabs off and see what happens.

  • Did you find them to slow you down a bit

  • It was the Smart Tabs combined with the right prop that got this old customized speed boat right where it belonged!

  • They have adjustable angle/range and force (based on angle). Their impact on ride height while on plane is determined by installation angle and adjustment.

  • They keep you from porpoising when you're on plane.

  • they do do anything when there on plan
