There are a number of us getting together, different human rights groups, because we really must show a united front on these issues. If you google CPS sucks you will find a lot of very angry people, because most people are decent and detest any abuse, wither it be to children or elderly people, and what these protection racket criminals is doing is clear cut abuse.

I'm thinking the same thing. Most of the questions being asked by the interviewer are actually small staements of facts that can be answered yes or no. Too many unanswered questions. I can't see the harm from a second thorough evaluation from a neutral doctor. If she has capacity and can knowingly make her own decisions, more power to her!

Evelyn was court ordered to a hospital. As far as I know she had no food from noon that day til 11:30pm...after spending a night in isolation after a very confusing & traumatic day, Evelyn was competency tested by a STATE dr.(biased towards gov't) Her results came back "poor." & she was declared incompetent, thereby allowing APS to appoint a guardian who will take over ALL assets, her home, etc. THIS IS WRONG in Evelyn's case.. Home visits were fine. Evelyn's fine & wants to go HOME!

She was happy living in her home and happy with her care. She's mentally fit and content.

What more do you need to know than that?

States have no right to impose their opinion by force. She has made her wishes crystal clear and yet the State continues to try to push her into a life THEY deem appropriate. Note that such is a consequence most favorable (financially) to the State and most detrimental to Evelyn's happiness.

to Sliepnir2006: This was in Evelyn's home. She's sitting at the table in her dinette just 1 month before she was court-ordered to admit herself into the hospital. She wasn't ill. There was no reason to go into the hospital except for APS to take possession of her person, get her disorientated, & then give her a competency exam. Guess how she fared? This is just outrageous and wrong. She is now in a nursing home. She wants to go back to her home! She does NOT CONSENT to this treatment!

Yesterday (12-1-09) her attorney and a very close friend who came from out of state to see her were finally permitted to know her whereabouts (after isolation since 11-21-09) and go speak to her. Evelyn was estatic to see her dear friend and wept. I also hope she will keep her stance and stick to her motto:

Thanks for the responses... APS and CPS could sure use improvements - the power they use to act, is unreal. [In July, North Carolinas Supreme Court ruled that CPS may not force interviews on parents who refuse them.] The rights of the Adult needs to be honored as well. Studies show people involved with APS have more of a chance of being instutionalized, and death, than those not involved...sad isn't it? They may do some good, however, they sure do some harm too!
