  • i couldnt watch this video because of the guy.

  • Bravo!!

  • i really like that thanks

  • not bad. great tip for videomaking

  • I hate videos on youtube that have this long intro and song <.<

  • Seat belt buckle was good, door-slamming was too much, but the overall info was good. I watched a singer's video the other day on YouTube. She had some clever outdoor scenes, but the overall effect was bland. Now I know why. The sound didn't match the "drama" of the video action.

  • Everything sounded good, but they should have turned the car off, put it in nuetral and pushed it, because the engine noise makes it sound fake.

  • that was great but in order to make the sound effects look real the close-up shot is more valuable. Good job good tips

  • this is helpful you should go watch the coolest basketball showdown

  • Thank you for the information.

  • The best tutorial I've seen form videomakers so far. Although, I am already aware of sound design and foley I think it's great that you are letting people know about it.

  • What is that camcorder on your hand

  • Could it be possible to remove the lyrics (singing) from a video i found on you tube? that way i have the music so i can practise singing. Ofcourse i did not found a karaoke version of Summertime (Gherswin) lol, who can help me??? i just love that song!

  • The inhanments are greater in which makes it the foodage sound better.

  • the sound the was done seemed so fake though. i think that the natural sound without the foley seemed more realistic. the fake way just seemed fake. you don't always need exaggerated sound to make your film better

  • i don't have all that proffetional material

  • Nice one, guys. Keep 'em coming.

  • oops, meant to say...great video! Ambient noise is what my videos lack, and it really makes all the difference in the world.

  • yeah... that kinda sucked. I am no way a pro at any of this but I am a graphic designer and I pay attention to details. Why would you have a the car roll in at one speed and then record the sound rolling in way slower, with the person walking with it which was probably recorded as well. Then the sound of the walking on gravel is just wrong with the ladies short little steps to his long strides and onto the grassy, non gravel.

Overall... concept good, but not accurate or pro in my opinion.

  • the audio may not have been recorded as the film was, but most sounds are not as they appear. Read any book on Foleying audio, and you will realize this. Most of the time, the sound will sound more realistic when soemthing else is used to create it. (EX: a creaky rocking chair can make an amazing sound of ship's decks creaking at sea, or the boards of an old house).

  • Uh...Thats not what I said AND... thats not even what they did. I swear that they used someone walking on gravel for just that sound. Im gonna go ahead and say this again... "Overall... concept good, but not accurate...".

None of the 'sound effects' lined up or sounded good at all.

You said "the audio may not have been recorded as the film was, but most sounds are not as they appear." but the door closing was a door closing, the walking on gravel was ... (wait for it)... walking on gravel.

  • ahha this is soo good! thanks again

  • they'd really be useful to me if i had a freaking PROFESSSIONAL mike and maybe some big theater lights for the other one. do u have any tutorials for someone who doesnt want to go into the trouble of buying all that fancy stuff?

  • same here...

  • dude some times you dont need all that light. some cameras and video editing programs can light the vidoe up for u

  • not for their animation. u NEED the light for the white unless you use greenscreen and stuff. but they always go witht he expensive stuff and im not gonna go wasting time and money on stuff when there might be easier ways. right? i dont mean to sound cranky but heck, im 11 years old, im not gonna just own all that stuff.

  • Wasn't this already posted somewhere? I remember seeing it, I think.

  • good tips no doubt. one doubt though.. when recording through the video cams mic doesn't it capture the video cams motor noise also ? am having this problem ..

  • Great tutorial man!

  • Thanks for the great tips!!

    This one was really great!

  • u guys dont even know how to use ur pro shotgun mic, u gotta lower the decibal levels when recording loud noises. when the car door closed ur mic was clipping. U also got a high static sound with the pro mic cuz you probably left it at 0db. it should have been -10db for this atmosphere. This comment will be deleted though. u guys always delete my comments, dont know why i still leave comments.

  • sounded better without the sound effects! not a great example of professional videomaking! Im on your side SanitySource!

  • yeah thankyou
