It's funny that it still says you "defeated Reptile", yet for some odd reason his energy bar and on Sega, it says "Scorpion". Plus, the only reason why you pressed block and it worked, it because of the infinite health you have on. Blocking something would normally give you damage, that's why you can't use it.

@adham1268 Since this game. It has to do with how Reptile was created. Ed Boon and John Tobias one day while working on MK 1 they for whatever reason took the Scorpion and Sub Zero charecter models and put them together and Reptile was born. This is where he got his colour from Yellow + Blue make green and so when they put him as a secret charecter in MK 1 they gave him both Scorpions and Sub Zero's movesets. And now you know and knowing his half the battle..

"Blocking will get you no where" is one of Reptiles clues, on version 4.0 and under if you press "block" by itself I know you couldnt face Reptile cause it happened to me once. I asume this also ment special moves and fatalities... maybe these were exempt in t-unit ver 5.0 or maybe cause you are using cheats it messed around with the rules.

I think that you are right on about the blocking part because when I used to play this all the time on the SNES as a little kid, it was mandatory at that time for me hold block prior to performing Scorpion's finishing move. After a while, I figured out that I can do it without using the block button, but yeah you're right. The blocking part is somewhat bullshit.

Fighting Reptile in MK1 is just too much fun [as is fighting Goro and Shang Tsung in MK1].

I've often wondered what some of the shadows that fly by were.

Here's what they are: blimp, kite, alien ship, witch on a broom, Santa's sleigh and I think the last one [that looks like four objects] is actually supposed to be Peter Pan with Wendy, John and Michael.

I didn't used to block in any fight, there's kind of a glitch which makes it possible never to be hit while playing as Scorpion.

It requires some learning and correct timing:

Perform his teleport punch. While the enemy is still tottering backwards perform the speer towards him and then perform an uppercut while the enemy is still stunned.

For everyone who couldn't play against reptile, here is how I did it on the SNES version.

I don't know which of the following steps are exactly necessary, but this is how I always did it and it worked a hundred percent:

I set the difficulty to the hardest mode possible.

I chose Scorpion.

I played all four stages including "The Pit"-stage.

I finished each stage with a double flawless and a fatality including the pit.

Yeah,sir. I am using MAMEFX with the 5.1 version. I WISH I had a real MK machine or any arcade machine for that matter. I used the cheat menu for Flawless Victory and drain player 2 energy. I did that 15 times in a row without exiting the game. I beat the guy on the pit and even let the next stage run but still, nothing. I then played it the next day on MAME and did 10 straight games and still no shadows. This is odd.

when you get to the pit stage you will need to lose and start all over, i did not RESET the game but simply lost to my opponent and started the tower of fighters from the start again. it took about an hour till i finally saw the shadows
