i bet these trucks get better fuel economy than a hummer

  • WOW ! :-O

  • Nice video -Road Train / CZ /

  • Y ellos andan drogados como los mexicanos? o que?Viva Mexico!!!!!

  • 64 wheels is longest my dad drives a 64 wheeler i go with him it is fast 5 cargos

  • not much tracks out there in the outback be to expensive to lay rails and then youve got a very high risk that the rails are gonna buckle so they use road trains more door to door focused i spose :-)

  • also known as a big truck bitches

  • You know, I have to wonder why they don't simply use a train... you know, a normal one that can transport a lot more then that for less money...

Still, amazing beyond belief those vehicles. :o

  • @VonCakeMaster

ok, let me just stop you there, how big is our country? if cargo needs to be transported from perth to sydney, how are they going to do it?

are you going to bork out billions, if not trillions of dollars to build a massive infrastructure of rail networks to link all the major cities in australia JUST so a few oil companies can use them?

why dont people think before they type?

  • @RsRocket31

It will only cost 100 billion. maybe less. Your estimates are over-exaggerated when you went to the trillion part.

One train can hold 500+ tanks of oil/anything. also, trains transport food, materials, as well as anything else you can think of. It will not be just oil, mind you. never is.

Also, it takes roads to support these vehicles, roads that you need to pay for anyways, and also take much much more maintenance then any rail road.

  • @RsRocket31

Also, take into account the gallon per ton a modern freight train can move verses a truck. A truck requires a lot of fuel to move over long distances, a train being light years more economical.

Trains are the most efficient and cost-effective form of mass-transit over long stretches of land that we know of. much much better then trucks in the long run.

    I did my homework. :D

  • but roads are multi purposed, for transport of cargo, and for transport of people.

the cost of building these rail networks + maintenence far outweighs the benefits,

    and for the efficiency part,

i work for mercedes, the commercial vehicle side,

the actros is an amazing truck,

type "mercedes benz actros most efficient truck" into google and click the first link,

0.8 litres per tonne per 100km.

  • for the rail side of things, theyd have to buy trains, build rails, build stations, unloading and sorting yards. lots of money

road side of things, the roads are already there, it costs what, 100g's for a decent truck, then all you need is a driver and 3 trailers, 1 truck and 3 trailers will be alot cheaper than 4 train carridges.

  • i understand where your coming from, but nobody will fork out the money to pay for that, and the immediate costs far outweigh the future earning potential, especially when it will take years and years to set up, as well as having to buy the land to build on, get people out into the middle of nowhere for years on end to build tracks.. and companies can go into the red so suddenly i dont think it would be on the cards

if it was such a good idea, everyone would be doing it!

  • @RsRocket31

Railroads easily pay themselves off. they are meant to be used for 100 plus years. compared to a road, it is better.

Rails can carry anything and a lot of it. They are more efficient then the MOST efficient trucks. now, I'm talking about between massive industrial centers. that will be there for... well... forever. unless 10 million people decide to leave. Road Trains are fine for flexibility, but not for constant mass-transit. as a rule, that's what trains are for.

  • @RsRocket31

Also, take into account that trains are making a come back. Tn the next 50 years with rising fuel prices, the trains will come back. the reason these trucks have so many trailers is so that they don't use more fuel then they transport.

Unless people are willing to see 10 trailer road trains soon, the train will be the inevitable choice. It is also safer.

Also, building train tracks stimulates economic growth. plenty of reasons to build tracks.

  • @RsRocket31 thanks for the info on the truck. we only have VOLVO trucks in the U.S. as far as forgein trucks.

  • 74 wheels 0-o

  • wow...and here i am thinking 32 wheelers are the longest road vehicles on the planet

  • epitome of macho.

  • Roads trains that long should not be aloud on a busy road like that, those things could make a car a pancake.

  • more wheels more brake power.

  • that would da me for transporting live fash!

  • full respect to the driver's

  • what the hell do you call one of those?

    B Quad?

    D Train?

  • I think G ^^

  • AB quad

  • They don't have the infrastructure that we have in teh states with pipes going everywhere so some of the gas stations are so far out they have to take 4 trailers to fill them all

  • questo si che è un autotreno, non come quelli che ci sono in italia o in europa in generale!

  • longest trains....longest trucks....i think Australia is over compensating for something haha (btw yes i am Australian)

  • I think its funny when people ask if your compensating for something because you drive a huge truck or supercar or something. I say "ya i am, a world of mediocraty".

  • i thought it was gonna run you over XD

  • Thats not dangerous or anything.......

  • That car (Datsun?) at the end is hilariously puny by comparison.

  • nice rig

  • how do u park that ?:)

  • u don't

  • More to the point!! What happens when you take a wrong turn? Do you turn it around or make a long detour?

  • You don't make wrong turns. If you make a wrong turn you shouldn't be driving a road train. Or you are extremely good at reversing.

  • Try to find parking space downtown!!!

  • you won't take it into downtown, these are banned from coming within 100km's of any city

  • the locals in AS were thristy :P

  • WOW, bet thats a bitch to stop !

  • Nice 908

  • this road train is longer then the video !

    hahahahahaah ;)

  • Omg :)))) =)) :X

  • at least he doesn't have to worry about running out of fuel!

  • @neimad19 Up until the point he realizes he's hauling gasoline.

  • thats cool

  • AAB quad road train, nice.

i wonder how many times the driver arrives home and finds bits of small cars stuck in the rear axle group

  • shes not loaded right !!

  • try 2 beat a train with that!

  • r-trains that long are easy to control

  • elly, i am really sorry, but easy is for sure not the right word for it. Mayby to drive straight without any curves, but to drive backwards, no way to say easy!!!!

  • to drive this baby backwards is very easy mate.

Just unhitch the tractor unit and hitch it to the other end and drive forwards.

    hahahaahhahaah ;)

  • EASY??? You gotta be kidding me??? How can it be easy to drive a 65 - 70 metre long rig??? I know for a fact its very hard cause i drive them...

Don't talk about stuff you don't know...

    James

  • I guess you have to be ALERT at ALL times when you drive one of these!

  • right, everything else you just have to be 1/4 alert.

  • you mean like more alert than another vehicle? idiot.

  • have a look at the drivers of other vehicles next time you're on the road dude... most people are just in a daze, off with the pixies

bet you'll find atleast 10 doing their makeup, 15 staring at their passengers, 6 hurling abuse, 11 on the mobiles, and 1 having a wank

  • that aint no shit, those figures are per every mile. alot of people take driving for granted and not as a privilage they abuse the laws and it usually results in a death that didnt have to happen.

  • oh yes very simple. no harder than your moms volvo v70.

sorry to be a smart ass im sure they are difficult

  • Well from the wives point of view, they really aren't all that hard to drive. I have done it. Power steering cruise control, just longer than youre average car and trailer. Now backing...thats another story!

  • ohaaa yuhhh

  • what the hell?!its longer than trains here in new zealand hehe :)how the hell do they control those thigs!

  • i want to see them back it up. :p I bet they have to use yard dogs, or tugs.

  • Nice Bulk Trans quad

  • Where's the rest of the video?

  • holy shit, now thats a tanker
