@f22acefighter no they really don't. The hornet legacy or rhino are both navy aircraft. Maybe you are thinking the Royal Australian Air Force. Bu not ours.
hey to anybody who flew 38's, how hard was it getting into the t-38 track? i'd give anything to fly these things and then get a fighter at drop night.
Rode in these several times while stationed at Laughlin AFB, TX back in the 70's. The best ride was a high speed dash UNDER the Pecos River High Bridge which was an expressly forbidden act that was nevertheless frequently done as a right of passage for student pilots. T-38's are fun jets but they've experienced a high accident trend during the last few years including the most recent crash at Edwards AFB, CA on 21 May 2009.
So did he let you drive at all??? LOL. Wow, this is so cool. I work on L-39s for a living and get to ride in one occasionally. But we cruise at maybe 250 kias. You're cruising at 400+ and the thing probably isn't even working hard.
Man, look at all those "steam gauges"; now that's 50 year old Avionics technology. By the way, what's the deal with those "thumb screws" on that rail by each window? Wonder what's that all about.
You lucky bastard! lol... I got a T-38 incentive flight too at Columbus AFB, but none of the pics came out :( Now that Im out I'd give anything to do it again. Cool video!
What I wouldn't do to get a ride in a fighter. I was dead set to get Airman of the 1/4 when I first got to HAFB.. Boy they broke my spirit real nice... :\ The NCOIC of our shop got an incentive ride. THey broke the sound barrier over Carlsbad.
I wish I could get a ride... Hell.. If I had 20/20 vision I'd go up for a pilot spot.
Hmmmm, if I remember correctly, hand-held video in an ejection seat a/c is illegal..... now those are AETC rules....not sure who owns HAFB's T-38's...
You lucky bastard I was stationed at HAFB and always wanted an incentive ride. 9th fs baby! Looks mad fun. I was there in the 49th LRS for 3 years till may 04'
so are you in college rotc? if so where?

This would be much better aircraft if it were upgraded with a glass cockpit. Still a beauty, though!

Air

GeorgeJansen 3 years ago
An incentive ride is a promotional low level demo to entice the recruit to sign up. It will be the first and last fun ride
KiloDelta302 2 years ago
1st and last...WOW...that's cold.....thanks...are you in the air force? former army here, but wished i joined the force
GeorgeJansen 2 years ago
They don't give incentive rides to entice people to sign up. Don't be such a downer because you have led a drab life

What's the point of an 'incentive' ride? For the newcomer pilots?
Hexify 4 years ago 2
Incentive rides are given to enlisted guys, officers who don't fly, cadets, and dependents.
