Anyone saying that a 5D mark 2 is better than this is just wrong! if people use this right, in well lit scenes with masses of detail or if the image needs to be blown up to billboard size for example, nothing will beat cameras like this
Also canon lenses really arent all that, even L lenses you need to know which one to buy, just very good marketing!
(ill probably get moaned at for that seeing as im a nikon user, at least when nikon say 'This is the lens!' they're honest
@iJ3WB0Yx in low light the 5D mkII is a great camera and is more for the video maker despite being a DSLR and despite being a canon shooter your right about the lenses which is why i am getting a converter and some old nikon manuals,
@eschweiler7005 Yeah, you need to talk to the marketing group of Hassy, tell them they are stupid then.......Btw, I have a 5D2, and I don't care the crap video, although thousand of people kept saying that how wonderful 5D2 is, from my personal opinion, 5DII's biggest achievement is being a affordable CHEAP full frame camera, and also the cheapest "movie shooting" camera. However, if I were a guy who shots video, I would not stick with 5DII OR III anyways. Cheers
the dynamic range is probably higher than on full frame cameras, but his pictures are highly edited as well. anyway he takes awsome pictures. have you seen his homepage? it's fantastic
this kind of video make me going out and taking pictures. unfortunately not with a hasselblad in my bag -.- BUT who cares...the eye makes the picture!!
i totally admire Mr. Strand work, his images introduced me to a different perspective to understand landscape and nature photography. as an amateur trying to build experience and technical ability i got a question: is it true a cave shooting with similar lighting conditions would be "completely impossible" with medium format film? thank you.
@KEPHALLE In my opinion, no. It'd just be different. I presume the H4D autobrackets for exposure and so an IDR image can be produced. either that or the sensor is big enough to incorporate the complete dynamic range...
Great vid but is that plane sky worthy?

Somebody would never understand why Pros pay thousands of dollars for a camera that the shutter speed only goes to 1/800....
