This guy can deadlift 240kg+ and takes part in under 90kg strong man comps, so YES HE IS FUCKING STRONG! As he said this is just the first time he has tried this.
so how much does each dumbbell weights? i really dont understand. the inner plates are 10kg and the outer 2 5kg? you were talking about scrap metal? big boy!!
@zigsauer HI mate. Found a piece of scrap metal tubing in a skip. just cut it to the length i wanted and slid over my original dumbbell handles! Job done!!
NICE! good form, 2 tips take that towel off the bench if it slips whilst you're benching you're fucked. Also take the barbell down if you accidentally hit the rack its coming straight down on you're face SMASH!!!!! you do it because you love it! you're not posing around a gym. just you n the weight PURE!
NIce lifting with the thick handles.I 'am thinking pretty immpressive.Solid .I'am currently with 1 1/2" handle and thats pretty tuff so I could imagine lifting with the 2" diameter handle thats crazy strong.
NIce lifting with the thick handles.I 'am thinking pretty immpressive.Solid .I'am currently with 1 1/2" handle and thats pretty tuff so I could imagine lifting with the 2" diameter handle thats crazy strong.
Great work man.. I was wonderin how did you got your forearm so thick? What exercise you do for forearm if any at all or is it just fat (no offense)..
No, it's not fat. Belive it or not, this exercise trains your forearms to some extent. Most dumbbells have a 1" handle, but these have a 2" making it a little harder to controll. Apart from some thick bar holds and captian of crush grippers, i don't do any specific forearm work. Genetics i guess? (and years of drumming when i was younger!!)
dont you find the 2 inch dumbells more comfortable in your hand? the one inch ones i feel like there ripping the shit out of my hands and are about to drop when im pressing
hey dude try 40 kg.s first, ive heard that you gotta find a weight that you can do 12 reps before you cant do much more. :-D anyway thats a nice going
but what gives you the right to call me a retard? probebly you are a retard, i only gave a piece of advice for godssake, oh and did i wrote the comment to you, NO! so shut the heck up.
good work mate very impressive lifting, can i ask how often u train now, ive cut my weights days down from 5 to 3days per week and seems to be going well im up to 6reps with 40s at the mo would u recomend training 3 times per week or more? my goals are for size and strengh
Thanks. I train 3 times a week as this works best for my recovery abilty. How many times you can train a week will depend on your's, but 3 days a week is usually a good starting point.
do you mean you train your chest 3 times a week? I have been training my chest every other day but progress in lifting heavier weight is slow so I think I'm going to try to hit my chest only once every five days but up the intensity, & nice work by the way that's a huge amount of weight!
No, I train each bodypart once every 9 days. (o.h press monday, deadlift wed, weighted dips friday, and squats the following monday). No wonder your progress is slowing, your overtraining. Just stick to training chest once a week and see how you go from there.
yeah I think your right, thats probably why I hardly ever get sore, I'll start training each muscle group once a week instead of every other day, thanks for the advice.
I will suggest full body work out twice a week, emphasis on legs one plus chest light and emphasis on chest plsu leg ligh and one day just for your back only. I train my abs, neck, arms another day. So four time a week and work just fine for me. 5 x 5 routine.
Hi Jam,seeing how you train each body part once every 9 days is interesting.I may change my routine to something similar as i am experiencing heavy fatigue in my muscles at the end of my stronglifts 5x5 routine.
Is this routine your own adaptation or is it part of another weightlifting program like Madcow or Bill Starr? If i am not mistaken you used to train once a week a while ago.Nice progress btw.
i've just started doing dumbell bench presses but i only have 25kg on each dumbell. how hard is it to build these up? im doing 5 reps of 5 sets and the last sets so heavy
It depends on you mate. It's took me a long time to get to this weight and beyond, but keep pushing and you'll get there! 5x5 with the same with the same weight is pretty tough, try ramping and you may gain faster.
Hey man whats the problem? Whats bad about it?, Its the truth!! Im not trying to put you down, I could do a few of my max which is 45-47.5kg about 5 reps to a few times. Who thinks its bad general advice? + Why?
How can it be to heavy for me if i can lift it!? Your comment doesn't make sense. And why would i be aiming between 8-12 reps when i'm training for strength, not for size?
I see, I was just always under the impression that for mass + strength its between 8-12 reps thats all. Because you struggled on the 5th thats why I said that. I was told and read that you should always do no less than 8. When I get some time ill post me doing some. That issue aside now, hope you understand where I was coming from. Its impressive to see you jump straight up to 50s. It took me time to get to 45s. Good luck with the weights and it would be a great achievement to do 60s.
Hey jam, very nice lift. You look strong as hell.I have a question, you said you lift 3 times a week?Is that just your chest routine thrice a week or 3 total weightlifting sessions that cover your entire body?
Thanks mate. It was three sesions a week that coverd the entire body. I think my chest was being trained twice a week at the time of this video. (as an example, friday would be 50kgsx 3 reps and monday would be the same weight but for 5 reps).
Just wondering, i noticed when u picked up the weight, you arched your back quite a bit? Is that the correct form? I been doing dumbell bench, but have had some trouble getting into the initial start position from picking up the weights off the ground.
Hi mate. My back did round quite a bit when i picked the dumbells off the floor. Because of the small size of the weights on them, it's impossible for me to pick them up whilst still keeping my back straight.(unless i bend my legs loads but it's way too awkard then). It's never really a good idea to round your back, but this weight is relitivley light so it shouldn't do any harm.
great work, your videos are great. you don't see enough people performing these free wieght movements anymore. may i ask, what are you trying to achieve from weight training? bodybuilding? strength training? for sport? or a differant reason?
Hey, thanks for the comment. No not many people do this kind of training anymore, probs because it's to hard lol! My goal at the moment is just to get stronger. I've set myself lifetime p.b's and i wont stop untill i get them!
its a great way to train and very satisfactory. i train the same way and try to beat my pb slightly every week. i havnt set any longterm pb, i merely aim to build a bigger stronger body!

Are those 10K plates you got on there? I was thinking about buying 4x10K plates for my dumbells but thought they would be too big.

@jonny86121 Yes mate, they are 10kg plates. They're not too big at all, and that way you can get a lot more weight on them.
