I can't watch this, that presenter is a fucking rude and disrespectful prick. Taking the piss out of them both. Possibly the two greatest comedians of all time.. Making fun of Oliie's size.
Neither of them had any interest in going on the show thats obvious but they were good sports and went along with it. Both seem extremely shy and uncomfortable especially Stan.
Great programme! As a fellow Ulverstonian, lovely to see their only TV appearance.
However, the programme shows up the fact that most Americans had no knowledge of Britain; when you see the map at 6:21, they put Ulverston in south-west Scotland, where Dumfries is! Wallies! Plus have you seen the shape of Ireland? Looks like it's got a hook nose!
The host needs to learn some manners. To say "Is there gonna be room for all three of you?" is an insult especially when L & H were not expecting this.
@PaulinetheGreat5 What made it even more insulting than you think is that Hardy suffered a minor heart attack in 1954, the same year of this interview.

I had the pleasure of visiting Stan Laurel in his apartment in Santa Monica many years ago. While he may not have been thrilled to have been thrust on TV without preparation -- he did have the film of the This is Your Life show, along with the 16 millimeter projector that was given to him by Ralph Edwards Productions.
I myself have also visited the Hollywood Knickerbocker Hotel in Hollywood and stood outside room 205 and gave silent tribute to my favorite comedy team. ....Rowby
This is just great. I know Stan didn''t like to be un prepared in public..but this just makes me smile, such gentlemen...thanks for this..thanks Mr L and Mr H for making the world laugh...

I would have told him to fuck off!
The boys do look uncomfortable in this.

This is classic footage of L&H, out of charactor. They were smoking & drinking,
with no idea, this was going to happen. These guys, hated this. I've been a
fan of L&H all my life, with many details. Stan, wrote all their movies & shorts.
He got "sued" by Hal Roach, because he broke the contract. Stanley Laurel
refused to make another L&H movie with Roach, if there would be singing breaks. Laurel won.

Apparently L and H were having quite a heated argument just before the camera came in... You can kinda see it on their faces!
