And nobody expect you to defend the Iranian culture. If you are a good attorney, go and defend your culture. Our culture is already proved by history.
@XosrovTheGreat Well I'm Irish but have Iranian relatives and it just never fails to amaze me how miserable Iranian music is. The Irish have a far more awful history but they're the happiest people on earth and produce a ridiculous amount of great, upbeat music. Iranian songs go like this: Love me or I will die/The sun reminds me of death/Every woman is a liar/Love me or I'll die...again. We have songs like this in Ireland too (The Wind That Shakes The Barley) but really...some FUN SONGS PLEASE?
@TodayFreedom Middle east people in general and in our case Iranians are the most hallucinated, over sensational and deluded beings on the face of planet, we bragging about 2500 years culture and civilizations yet the law of the jungle dominates on society
@XosrovTheGreat Again as your nickname shows and reminds me of the CyrusTheGreat, u r one of those guys "bragging about 2500 years culture"! If you are not proud of your nation plz stop saying bullshit, ok?
Every great nation will go through a dark period in its history. Iran is doing that now. It's not that the laws of the jungle dominate Iran now ... Iran is in its dark ages now. We do not need to brag about our history from 2500 years ago, it speaks for itself. It's just that most of the world is unafmiliar with the history inbetween so we talk about what people understand ... history from 2500 years ago. If you are not going to be part of the solution, don't be part of the problem.
@TodayFreedom LOL dude.. you think Iranian are not happy??? daaaaaaamn boy you should come to Tehran party one night and se how we BOMB the world!!! BTW.. Irish people aren't the world's most happy people.. its danish people how are the world's most happy people..
@TheEagledreams Do you realise when you type on a computer that your words are read by real human beings? I think you ought to be ashamed of yourself, but the fact is that you aren't - and that's truly disturbing. The chances are you have a condition called co-dependence. Basically means you live through others and have little control over your emotions. Look after yourself.
@TodayFreedom It is difficult to suggest a song, but you may look at the Arash's songs or for instance look this up on Youtube: "kamran and hooman - oon ba man"
@TodayFreedom irish people are the happiest people on the earth???? have you herd of the pogues????????? what this iranian brother is singing is art brother not just pub songs
@TodayFreedom mr, has any one forced you to listen to Persian music? if you dont like it do not listen to it, obviosly the Persians like it or may be some of them!!You can always stick to irish music or river dance! so far there are no laws for compolsury listening to Persian music. Enjoy other music! good listening!!
@TodayFreedom you don't understand the words, that's why you just have an opinion, if you had understood what is being said you will have a different opinion, but i must say that we Iranians value literature more than having our artists have a million cars and a million girls and a million chain necklaces and the lyrics don't have any meaning...
@ramtinking Maybe you should lighten up a bit. Not everything concerning Iranian culture is a matter of life and death. Frankly, way too much Iranian music is like something you'd hear at a funeral but if that's what they like then so be it. Personally I prefer something a little bit more happy than "age ye rooz" or "Chetur hasudi nakonam".
@TodayFreedom i don't see any reason to defend iranian culture of music because I think you are the one that needs to lighten up a little bit, just like u said right now if that's what they like then it's their choice right?! if you don't like to listen to those songs which u mentioned, there are happier songs in persian culture which you totally forgot to mention, like ebi and siavash ghomeishi and many more
@TodayFreedom This is how traditional Persian music sounds like! It is not definitely like someone is dying, just because you are not used to that it sounds like that ... Try looking at Persian Pop and Rock, they are definitely dance floor music...
Because it is obvious that you have little exposure to Iranian music, culture and language, I will correct you. Do not judge a book by its cover. Look for artists like KAMRAN AND HOOMAN, AFSHIN,
or IRANIAN POP and you will find music that is to your liking. Listening to this music and judging it like you do is like listening to a piano and wonder why there are so many different ding-dang sounds. You must understand the language, the lyrics and the social context of such music to be able to appreciate it. Once you look at the above named music groups, then let me know if you still think Iranian musis "is about the dying."
@100neda Quite the opposite - I grew up around people like Bakhtiar and Pakravan. Bakhtiar was my godfather. I saw him two days before he was killed...my uncle was a founder of SAVAK. In 78 everyone came to UK and Ireland. My original comment was simply a joke, but the fact that every Iranian took it as an opportunity to go crazy is very revealing. Faghat shookhi mikardam, ok?
You must understand that sarcasim and insult are not funny (or taken as jokes) to people of the Iranian culture. If it does not make use laugh, then it is not funny to us. It is the opposite, it is insulting. Humor is cultural. For example, the pie in the face is funny to Americans, but simply stupid to most Iranians. I do not mean to insult you, but its not a joke if only you are the one that laughs. Please me more sensitive.
@TodayFreedom I think all you guys should go listen to your lady gaga (The real Art of music!). If you have no knowledge about something you better off not talking about it...
@TodayFreedom NO, there is reason is that these Iranian traditional songs were basically a way of transferring knowledge and history and philosophy of the life. The lyrics are so deep in meaning that you can deliver such important messages while you’re laughing or … you need to be in these sort of moods to be able to transfer what you want. The traditional music was not just to have fun it was to teach some life lessons.
