  • as SCV walks behind, John Leal has no idea what 2011 has in store for him. Hahahaha

  • Epic foreshadowing in the drum world around 0:25....

  • Comment removed

  • the irony of scv walking behind them while warming up. lol

  • @studmuffinxDCIx

Definitely not. If you don't win percussion in your year how can you be the best of the decade? Plus they didn't play this many notes.

  • they suck, i could do better blinfolded and drunk. white plower

  • Geeze, no wonder they got 6th place

  • @FlamDragon69 judging by your videos, no wonder youre just a internet hater who will probably never march.

  • @FlamDragon69 Yeah, damn this shitty line for winning drums and bringing the corps down.

Fuck, some of you people need to have your internets taken away.

  • So clean...

    Sheet music anyone?

  • @WreckingIt247 snare science bro....snare science.

  • Just got goosebumps. The energy that this drumline emits is absolutely unmatched.

  • love the sound of the drums as well as what's being played on em. yum yum yum yum!

  • the irony of SCV walking in the background and rennick's last runthrough with these guys

  • @UberStrawberry That's not ironic. I wouldn't even really call it a coincidence.

  • 0:49 "oh my sweet jesus"

  • Man these guys were rocking this year

  • And if the BD singles had been clean, that would have been even better. Saw them seven times last summer. Seven times they couldn't play singles together. Yet, they hyped the nasty mess they made every single time. I've never seen a line celebrate crap as much as those guys.

  • their drums looks like blue devils 09

  • arent those silver fox sticks they r using?

  • @will3579 IP

  • @BSBINC1 well they do kinda look like the sticks my high school used n4 we went to vic

  • @will3579 yea they do our middle school our eight grade yr we use silver fox and we thought they was tenors sticks lol thats before we swicth back to vic firth

  • @will3579 They are endorsed by Innovative Percussion. The snares use Paul Rennick signature sticks. The tenors use FT-1 and TS-2 sticks.

  • Great line - I think the roles will be reversed in 2011 between SCV and Phantom's drumline though

  • How ironic that Vanguard walks by in the background... hahahaha.

  • what kind of sticks were the tenors using?

  • @ugot2dowhatugot2do FT-1's for the mallets, and TS-2's for the sticks.

  • Everything they play is so musical and rhytmic of feeling and they just look so fluent. Technique wise my favorite approach.

  • haha, SCV walkin around behind them knowing they're going to lose... just fantastic

  • Tenors at 1:17...WTF

  • ...and there goes scv...

  • haha that dude at 0:54 is like "Dude! are you gettin this!"

  • Rennick is still the best in the business.

Pumping out amazing books year after year.

  • damn... i gotta say, this could very well be the best DCI battery of the last decade... wow.

  • @mikespeed20082 cadets 2005, scv 2004, and phantom 2006 are all just a tad better than this. this is no doubt the best drumline since 06 though

  • @rreemmzzrruullee I've seen all of those, they wouldn't have gotten first in drums this year.

  • @trenny123 scores dont lie. all of them scored higher then this line.

  • @rreemmzzrruullee That may be true, but the only reason that their score this year wasn't closer to a perfect 20 was because there were five more groups that went on after them and the judges had to leave room for other groups in case they were cleaner.

  • @FatGocks very true! didnt think about that. my mistake

  • @rreemmzzrruullee It's easy to overthink :D

  • @rreemmzzrruullee scores are subjective. No matter how much they try not to be. A lot of it is based on how the drumlines did that day.

  • Just goes to show you that you dont need a book made up of nothing but singles ,epileptic body movements and a mirror where you can see your own ego to win high drums.

  • @multibuddhaneo Funny joke, but lest some 8th grade punk takes it too seriously... the Bluecoats played way more than singles and the Blue Devils had some nice notes in their closer too.

But yeah, Phantom was effing unreal, no doubt.

  • @multibuddhaneo thats just a lack of respect...

  • @LAKings0101 Hey,dont get me wrong.BD are some talented as hell individuals.I just think Scott Johnson has been replaced with a body double. Its the only explanation.

  • @multibuddhaneo not to mention anyone in particular :P

  • @multibuddhaneo yeah you need to play eigths notes at low tempos with easy drill

  • @multibuddhaneo I'm not sure if you have ever heard the Blue Devils book from 2010, but I guaruntee it is just as challenging as this. Look up some of the harness cam videos from their final run-through. The listening demands on field for them to sync with the brass and pit is incredible, not including the mirrors blocking off portions of the field.

I love Phantom, but to act like the Blue Devils had nothing to play besides singles is sort of immature.

  • @multibuddhaneo wow... this book is amazing and clean. but dont go bashing on BD they try to bring something different to the table every year and they are known for body movement during drum breaks, in fact every drumline know a days adds body movement.

  • @multibuddhaneo HAHA THATS BLUE DEVILS FOR YOU

  • @multibuddhaneo i think its funny how this video was posted by BDdrumline haha..but im definitely with you all the way on that comment

  • @MrKyleman28 BDdrumline08 = Ben Davis Drumline '08.

  • @multibuddhaneo Oh my god, that statement was perfect haha

  • holy jizz

  • beautiful

  • holy shit... there's nobody better.
