  • i bet kids that saw this were like WTF?!?

  • I thought I heard "American Factories" ??? lol

  • Money spent on justified violence, HawK. I wouldn't have been willing to let the Axis win.

  • HAIL THE ENCLAVE

    wait .. . . .

  • Ugh, after that all the horrid pro-violence propaganda starts. With the repeating mantra of more taxes for guns, more taxes for planes, more taxes for ships more taxed means more weapons to kill and to make more weapons means more taxes.

    It's like damn brainwashing!

  • @xeiroe well back then it was kind of necessary

  • Hm, at 2:01 the door Greedy is pulling Donald to is the exact shape of a swastika cut in half. Subtle symbolism wins again!!

  • Was the"THRIFTY" persona some kind of predecessor to Scrooge McDuck?

  • I don't know about you all but I enjoy propaganda, but I don't let them influence me.

  • When i watched it I told my brother everyone has this movie is paying money for propaganda freaks like them.

  • I got the movie

  • I the movie

  • What a bunch of bullshit. First, the american government throws with "WE GOT DEH KAPITALISM", but when it fails "PAY MOAR TAXES". Who's the "communist" now, huh?

  • Yeah, fuck the world! Spend it!

  • @Szmirka

On a zoot suit of course

  • @Szmirka On a zoot suit of course

  • ...God... we're political...

  • I dont like how everybody thinks this kind of propaganda was wrong. This is what got us through world war 2. We needed every rescource we could get to beat the axis. Did you think the goverment came up with the supplies for all the campaigns they waged out of their collective asses? We stuck together as a nation because of this kind of propaganda. (If you have a differing opinion on the matter please by all means reply. If you want I could even give you my email, and we could have a nice debate

  • @SuperBluethedog I dont like how you dont think about the other matters. Your country was in a major depression before the war began, but suddenly when the war started, you suddenly had enough dollars to drive the entire campaign. Alot of money spent on garbage, war propaganda and violence. You call that good? I call that retarded, nationalist, greedy and most of all VERY American.

  • fuck nazis there the reason we didnt have freedom of speach stupid fucking hitler. hes a fucking bull shitter thats what he is. high hitler more like high asshole

  • American is just a big pussy now.

There was a time where if you messed with us, we would slap you, and if you slapped back we kicked you in the balls!

Now we cry about everything. We are not though anymore.

  • @portsy101 TESTIFY

  • Hell. Not American, not anything, but this cartoon cheered me up.

  • This would never fly today. Bush and Obama wage longer and costlier wars than ever and shout "spend spend spend for your country!" Politicians today try to get us to believe you can have war without sacrifice, so that they can wage war like it's a game. At least back then we realized the terrible cost to our troops and our country.

  • different time. That's for sure.

  • Isint this scrooges first cartoon?

  • i saw a tv on disneyworld showing a nazi picture of this

  • Why would this be banned

  • Taxes to keep the warex

  • holy mother of god, I nostaglia'd so hard... My grandma has a VHS tape of this, I remember watching and having no freakin Idea what I was watching XD, ahh innocence... XD

  • a political comercial.

  • Wow its surprising these videos dont have alot more views. :O

  • killin natzees

  • R U A NAZI CUZ I AM 5507

  • 0:38 Glongold? :?

  • I thought disney hated jews

  • @ZZYXY456 i dont think they knew about what hitler was doing with the jews (i dont know how to spell the H word but here is my attemps haulocaust) untill either after the war or shortly before the end of it so to the allies this was just a war

  • @chanson301 ik i just wanted to make a joke outta it

  • @chanson301 Considering how many Americans were anti-semantic back in the old days, I think it was a good thing that most Americans didn't know about Hitlers little side project. As sad as it is for me to say this, there were enough Americans who sympathized with Hitler before and during the war. One can only speculate how white Southerners would have flocked to Hitler's banner had they known what he had planned.

  • @ZZYXY456 Walt Disney did hate jews. But after his death Disney was bought ( controlled ) by jews (-as it is today).

  • Wouldn't it be better if the war mongers and profiteers paid for their own damn wars instead of making us pay?!

  • lol typical propaganda ;p

  • its kinda funny how a capitalist country tells you not to spend

  • No shit its propaganda. But propaganda helps win wars. Without propaganda like this we would all be speaking German.

  • There are better quality versions of this uploaded on YouTube and those came from the official DVD set.

  • FUCK taxes

  • This taught me that the only things made in factorys are guns and planes. /sarcasm

  • @InsanePenguinX2 Ya it is weird, but a lot of the old donald cartoons during this time he was nazi related or just hardcore nazi. :/

  • Ppl don't realize this was for ww2 but were all making it sound like it's for 2 day

  • I can't believe they made something like this, but it's epic. You don't see propaganda cartoons that often.

  • If you look at this from an outside perspective, this very well seems like american propaganda.

  • whistle is saying " I DIE "

  • 15 people didn't pay their taxes

  • fucking mind controling

  • War is the only solution to any depression inluding todays

  • I hope I never have to see this again...

  • FÜREH HEIL HÏTLER!!!!

  • And the reason why walt hated Jews...

  • America sucks. Long live the Terran. Or the father land. heil.

  • @darkstorm34 lame

  • proof war is profitable.. evil evil people

  • To think, if only we raised our taxes to support our troops. Nope. We now days just give less and less taxes as people fighting on the othrer side of the world are being killed and giving their all.

Such a burden on all of you.

  • fucking propagandas no matter the country and the reason i hate propagandas

  • @anonymouscitizen0101

You hate propaganda? Why? It may be the greatest art form ever. Nothing more aptly represents what people take pride in. What they truly think. When was the last time you saw a famous artist draw Germans as gorillas and Japanese as squint-eyed stereotypes? Fine art would never accept that, but that's how people felt, and propaganda is the evidence. This is humanity. We may not be proud of it, but hate, war, and bloodshed are our history. It makes us what we are today.

  • @anonymouscitizen0101 The odd thing is, it was supposed to be neutral. I dunno how it got to be offensive. And also, not ALL propaganda was bad! Some told the truth, but this one went a bit too far.

  • There seems to be a bit of irony in that last speech, because up until Pearl Harbour, the US wanted nothing to do with WW2 except for "cash and carry" deals with Britain. I mean, if you look closely, both German and Japanese aircraft are burning, but only US planes are attacking them. Where are the Spitfires and Sturmoviks? Why not Mosquitos as well as Mustangs? Britain fought in the Pacific too. Had Britain fell, the US would'nt have been far behind (Winston Churchill, look it up...) Just sayin

  • @Hindenburg12886 While I agree with you on this subject, this is propaganda for America. Wouldn't American taxes go to American troops?

  • Falcon punch !!

  • FUCK HITLER

  • @UberTF2Crafting

Anyone who wants to play an entertaining game system instead of looking at pretty graphics

  • I wish they still make cartoons like this today.

  • Ah yes, propaganda aimed at our children. Not that I don't agree with the message, but the axis were doing similar things. Propoganda is never good, especially when it is aimed at children.

  • @TheIronweasle It`s easier to convince childs than Adults

  • @TheIronweasle

heh actually in the 40s, these cartoons were aimed at adults.

  • when i saw donald punch his nazi side i was like

    oooooooooooooooh ownage!!!!

  • Thesse USA and their war.... why not bring peace by no violence into this world. I dont belive USA 's Goverment no violence means.

  • I...I came...

  • I love this cartoon. When I was a kid, this cartoon was a good propaganda tool that my mum showed me in how to save my money vs. Spending it on stupid crap. Even though the cartoon's point is to spend on stupid taxes, it taught me to save at an early age.

  • "Welcome SUCKER"

  • Why don't you yanks do what we aussies do and have your tax already deducted when you get paid. That way all you have to do is file a tax return at the end of the financial year.

  • @MrNintoku We do now

  • honestly, only the americans would have the balls to make this and the other one of donald being a nazi.

  • banned usually means not played on TV anymore, which is true.

How cool would it be to have cartoonists help us explain to kids that its not all muslims we're at war with, just the ones who support Al Quaeda? These old cartoons clearly show that its Hitler, Mousoline and Hirohito we fought, not all Germans, Italians, and Japanese. Lousy political correctness

  • This is amazing

  • this is kind of stupid propoganda. i'll always pay my taxes, i'll never like it.

  • YAY! BOO NAZIS! YAY AMIRICANS!

  • haha see how america cares sooo much about its own country and the scottish look after a riche country awww poor america

  • i have this on dvd lol

  • Scrooge...? wow the bastard been around that long...? O.o

  • Why does the Scottish 1 boring :'(

  • Dude, what are you talkng about this isnt banned i just rcently saw it on t and bought a dvd and its on it so dont even call it that if you dont kniowfor sure

  • @Krumonthecouch It was called Donald Duck banned cartoon or something when I downloaded it(years ago) , I'm not going to change the name, though, it gets more views this way. I'm sorry if this upsets you.

  • @SapmiSatanFromHell

you are an immense faggot for falsely naming a video just to get views.

  • @SapmiSatanFromHell Then people who have spread the word around saying that this cartoon short is banned are dead wrong. This cartoon short was officially released by the Disney Studios in 2004 on a DVD set called the Walt Disney Treasures On The Front Lines that contains two DVD disks. The first one mostly shows cartoon shorts and this one is on the first disk and the second disk has the Victory Though Air Power films well as some shorts that were meant to train the military.

  • @SapmiSatanFromHell This cartoon short is also in much better quality on this DVD set and the sound in the DVD version is more correct because Donald Duck sounds more like the actor who voiced him during the 1940s (Clarence Nash) than in this public domain version.

  • 2:34 Pow Right In The Kisser!

  • disney today are greedy they want to make the most greediest buck form thier classic films so they barey release any of them cuas ethey dont want a long term dollar they want it now! so they use different excuses not to put back the films in the public they are worser than time warner

  • Taxes to pay the fat Jew who loaned Hitler cash to start the war in the first place after which people wondered why suddenly he took a rather nasty un-liking to the Jews and pledged to extirminate them all hmmm...

  • @Cityj0hn He hated Jew's because his dad was a jew and left his mom

  • @Chris9ian

I'm not even going to comment on this because judging from what you think already you will not understand.

    I'll agree to disagree.

  • A impressive and cool cartoon. No comment on propaganda. Full entertainment for me.

  • sooooo did anyone notice the door at 2:13?

  • did anyone notic that dorr was allmost a swastica

  • This makes me want to go back in time and move to America to pay taxes :D

  • I agree that this is part of history, but I can immagine that this is not very suitable for the saterday morning cartoons and thus banned

  • 2:37 v for victory

  • It's proven that the Axis Nazi had a prototype megatron at 5:01

  • I like that, "Taxes to bury the Axis!"

    Its great propaganda.

  • the americans had beter propaganda then the nazis and soviets

  • jajaja pinches gringos lokos

we are all fucked up and most importantly we fucked up our mother earth

  • They should have had a cartoon like this telling people to pay more in taxes to support the war in Iraq. That war wouldn't have lasted a week. Americans want a huge military but no one wants to pay for it. We just borrow the money from China.

  • he smoked that fool

  • Still, I repeatedly state that we should look at this carton in its time.. You cannot judge 1943, with a 2010 head.. We were at war with 3 very dangerous enemies.. And though WWii united every man, woman, and child, Japanese-Americans were unjustly interned; racial segregation ranged from the Canadian, to the Mexican border. Coscientious objectors were interned; our armed forces were segregated, and the country was plagued with race riots..And, yet, we came out a better people than before..

  • They don't make cartoons like this anymore. Support your troops. Buy beef!

  • @UberTF2Crafting BINGO! Ya got me, there, Ace..! Goes to show how little I know..!

  • they forgot to stop taxing us after ww2

  • yes propaganda, but i dont see any wrong in this, its very right what they say in the film.

  • this is a great program. To give our government every extra dime we have is a great idea. If all americans did this now there would be a better society for us. I hope the government thinks of this again .

  • all kaind of things america learns to litle kids. now i know why this episode is banned.

  • 2.09 it seems like Scrooge says SLAVE!!!! How true

  • y was the ending god save the queen

  • FTW!

  • im sure 20 years later in vietnam taxes didnt look so good.

  • @dev21a - this is a classic cartoon, before the FCC this was acceptable

  • They should of mentioned that the factory owners made the profits and kept it privately rather than it going to the government where it could of been used for the purpose this cartoon promotes. Certain U.S/Euro Capitalists made sure ww2 was a win-win happy war for the factory owners in Europe and the U.S. who made untold millions in £/$ from it.

    That was a war crime.

  • I love these propaganda shows their very entertaining and makes you feel great too. I love this stuff.

  • @dev21a

War has been the main reason for bailing the US out of debt. The depression in the 30's crippled the world economy - the states were still struggling even in the first years of the war. Look around you... Today stocks fall, the states goes into "recession" and suddenly theres a war. If you look at the financial history of the US, every major hit to the economy has been fixed by war profiteering. Im not arguing one side, just saying.

    Do some research before flaming.

  • taxes taxes taxes texes why not "join the army" shit or make ammo because all your country wants is money money money 43-45 taxes because NAZIS 55-75 taxes because VIETNAM WAR, 2003 IRAQ WAR -TAXES TAXES and your wars continue

so arent you fed up of beeing overweighted , killed , robbed by your own politicians

  • History is made by winners

  • Uncle Scrooge!! his first appearance!!

  • @protosaber363 The first draft of Uncle Scrooge at least, his first official appearance was in Christmas on Bear Mountain.

  • @protosaber363 in netherlands hes called oom dagobert = uncle dagobert

  • Leave it to Disney to make paying taxes sound badass

  • I totally agree zipper179, for most ignorance is bliss!!!

  • at 2:28 that dude reminds me of uncle sam

  • March 15th is my dog, Mindnight's (Small Black Cockerpoo) birthday!

  • omg an this was banned?! wtf screw the fcc .. this somewhat acturately depicts the propaganda that took place during the war, and it also states that the taxes people payed then payed for military equipment. I don't see any reason for this to have been banned.

  • What a moronic message about not spending...obviously they didn't know how important spending is for reviving the economy.Taxes are definitely necessary, but so is spending.

  • Patriotism=beautiful

  • I'll bet you they( damn conservatives) ordered it banned THE VERY MOMENT they saw a swastika.

  • 15 november is my birthday D:

  • "its your money, but its your war" thats a pretty tough line

  • y is the saver a scottsman ?

  • @olfox88 It's (was?) a common stereotype that the Scottish are penny pinchers. Scrooge McDuck is based on this stereotype as well.

  • so far, the only american media thing I hav seen that is for taxes, not agaist them.

too bad its 4 war proposes, and not s/t like universal heath care, oh well, WW2 was a just cause worth fighting for.

  • Why should this cartoon be banned? Why, this is American history! Maybe some parents should have the balls to talk to, and teach their children. What's the matter? Scared that you might have to break down and actually read a book? And, you wonder why there's so many overweight kids, and why terrorists like Bin Laden think we Americans are a bunch of idiots! I dare you take away your child's Nintendo, and ask him where the library is. Don't like what I said? Teach your children!

  • @zipper179 : It is true, besides, they're going to have to learn the truth sooner or later : /

  • @zipper179 I guess some people just want to forget about it.

  • @zipper179 Or Maybe because this unrealistically conveys history and is just american propaganda

  • @zipper179

To me I would rather pick up a book than play games. Everyday after school I am in the library either doing homework or reading a book. Plus I am not a huge fan of junk food, I mean I would rather have a healty bowl of cherrios with bannanas and rasins rather than a sugary cereal. So now you know at least one American kid who loves the library and not a big fan of junk food. Plus, I am a huge fan of history, World War II is one of my favorite time periods to learn about.

  • @isnormalityareality AMEN to you, friend.. WWII was a favorite part of American history for me, as well.. A pity, all the time I was in school, only one class I was in ever got to that subject.. All through school, the teaching of history was sporadic.. Too many kids, and, too many underqualified teachers, not enough textbooks; and many of those we had were outdated.. In a poor minority area, where the attitude was to keep us in line..

  • @zipper179 my parents have the balls to talk to, and teach their children.

  • Damn, American truely love patrioism. I understand this was WW2, and even though i love these surreal cartoons i gotta say they are also kinda sickening. Taking donald duck into the trip of war and death, if a kid watched that he'd be a nazi hater for sure.

Apparently you should feel guilty if you over spended what you actually needed, since it "helped" the nazis by overflowing US economy.

Taxes to bury the axis, might aswell make poor old donald duck get shredded by the luftwaffe on tv. :P

  • Guns! Guns! All kinds of guns!

I don't like the anti-Beethoven slant of this. Plays too much into Hitler's BS racial theories.

  • propaganda used against the nazi's was just a big way for the government to make money I mean come on a world without homosexuals but, you have to put up with no black, jews, or cripples that sprung america into who we are today. Now if Hitler killed highly obese people I'd love it and the rest is a price to pay. We didn't even no if Hitler was killing mass people anyway until Great Britain seen the places for themselves. Who are we to judge other peoples actions. Sorry i went off topic there

  • The secret service actually knew about the concentration camps. Polish, Czech etc governments had provided them.

  • @hecull258 Now, don't forget; Goering was Hitler's main man-a fat boy! I repeatedly say that we have to look at these things in their time.. Oh, by the way, August, the 6th, and, August, the 9th, were the dropping of the Atom Bomb(s), on Hiroshima, and, Nagasaki.. 65 years..! Just about my lifetime! (I was born in '44)

  • @zipper179 I've stood right beside the Enola Gay, it's hanging in the Udvar Hazy Smithsonian Annex, I think there are vids posted on YouTube of it. I was born in 1961.

  • @clintonearlwalker No, you didn't just stand next to it-YOU TOUCHED THE SLEEVE OF HISTORY..!! YAAAYYYY....!!! The father of a friend of my wife's pointed to a B-17, and said, "I flew THAT plane..! To have lived history..! Soon, you'll be passing it on to your children..

  • W

    T

    H

    ?

  • Judging by the awful things the nazis were doing to secure themselves as a "superior race" I'd say this propaganda is justified.

  • Everything is justified to take them down.

  • This propaganda wasn't especially heinous. Not in the least. In fact, it's good advice in general- it encourages you to save money and invest it well (in this case, in war bonds and other measures which legitimately went to help the US military in some way during WWII).

  • The first half of this about whether or not to spend / save was actually pretty good, but the second half that was just propaganda and a detailed description of what you make war with was probably not the best subject for a cartoon today.

However, you really have to take into account the time in which these were made. World War II was a pretty big deal, it deserved cartoons like this.

  • i love how the saving money duck is scottish!

  • You have to love propaganda, it's so entertaining and educational!

  • It's the same nowadays, just that the manipulation has become more intelligent.

  • I see why it is banned. It's almost boardering up to brainwashing.
