inflation even at 2% per year means within 35 years the money supply will have doubled or in other words your money is worth half as much. This means that in a single persons life time the money supply will have doubled 2-3 times. I was in McDonalds today and gave them a twenty. The kid held it up to the light to see if it was real and gave me my change. I held the change up to the light also and said "These worthless Federal Reserve notes are just as phony as the one I gave you" He didn't get it, but he soon will.

It's no question Ron Paul can win the Presidency, but can he win the Republican nomination? Unfortunately a good chunk of registered Republicans won't vote for Dr. Paul in their state's primaries, and most states have closed primaries. So if you want Dr. Paul to be a Presidential candidate, register Republican(even if you hate Republican's or belong to another party) and vote for Ron Paul in your state's Republican primaries. You can always switch later.
I agree there is problems with feds and am not a fed supporter (partisan, etc.). Ron Paul brought up good things which first got my attention. But as I looked deeper in what he was really saying, and applying his principles, ideas, and theories in "the real world", I seen early that his head is in the sand and his understanding of the constitution is not entirely correct, and some of his constitutional concepts are unconstitutional. He's a nut.

Can you imagine if congress was involved with the money supply. We would be much worse off now because congress would never agree on anything. "The dollar is reduced" that is called inflation. Our population is growing. If we had the same amount of people and the same money supply we would have deflation because of the supply and demand of money. When people do not have access their money because of deflation it has caused many large nightmares like the great depression.
@d16923 There is a legitimate debate by economists between discretionary or rules-based monetary policy. Milton Friedman's k-percent rule is one example.
Another legitimate problem is the fact that our money supply comes with an interest rate attached. Wealth is funneled to very few bankers at the public's expense. Reserve notes are backed by taxes, it makes sense for the public to own the central bank.
There is monopoly on the "means of exchange," and this needs to change.

The Federal Reserve is a total money-making machine.It can issue money or checks. And it never has a problem of making its checks good because it can obtain the $5 and $10 bills necessary to cover its check simply by asking the Treasury Department's Bureau of Engraving to print them.

People are stupid. Before the Federal Reserve we had 29 recessions. After we only had 19, and those 19 were not as severe. Furthermore the US had huge economic expansion in the 80s and 90s, which was the longest period of expansion in US history, and this took place after 1913 when the Federal Reserve was created. Sure the Fed has made a few mistakes with monetary policy, but Congress also made many mistakes with fiscal policy. We need to stop bashing the Fed.

Isn't it funny how many people voted for Obama to fix the economy without knowing what the problem is? I knew for a fact, no matter who got in, we'd still be selling debt to China to fund our foreign policy of world policing(we spend more money on military than anything) and non of our manufacturing jobs would come back to the states. It's no question Ron Paul can win the Presidency, but can he win the Republican nomination? Unfortunately a good chunk of registered Republicans won't vote for Dr. Paul in their state's primaries, and most states have closed primaries. So if you want Dr. Paul to be a Presidential candidate, register Republican(even if you hate Republican's or belong to another party) and vote for Ron Paul in your state's Republican primaries. You can always switch later.

I agree there is problems with feds and am not a fed supporter (partisan, etc.). Ron Paul brought up good things which first got my attention. But as I looked deeper in what he was really saying, and applying his principles, ideas, and theories in "the real world", I seen early that his head is in the sand and his understanding of the constitution is not entirely correct, and some of his constitutional concepts are unconstitutional. Can you imagine if congress was involved with the money supply. We would be much worse off now because congress would never agree on anything. "The dollar is reduced" that is called inflation. Our population is growing. If we had the same amount of people and the same money supply we would have deflation because of the supply and demand of money. When people do not have access their money because of deflation it has caused many large nightmares like the great depression.

@d16923 There is a legitimate debate by economists between discretionary or rules-based monetary policy. Milton Friedman's k-percent rule is one example.
Another legitimate problem is the fact that our money supply comes with an interest rate attached. Wealth is funneled to very few bankers at the public's expense. Reserve notes are backed by taxes, it makes sense for the public to own the central bank.
There is monopoly on the "means of exchange," and this needs to change.

The Fed is a private institution that has taken over control of our currency, it's owned by a multinational bank that prints money to inflate our currency and keep us in debt while they exploit us, he's absolutely right, and this has been the World Bank's business model in countries around the world
The President isn't even allowed into the Fed, it's private property, and when Woodrow Wilson realized he'd signed control over his currency over to these people, he was very upset about it.

The Federal Reserve is a total money-making machine.It can issue money or checks. And it never has a problem of making its checks good because it can obtain the $5 and $10 bills necessary to cover its check simply by asking the Treasury Department's Bureau of Engraving to print them.

People are stupid. Before the Federal Reserve we had 29 recessions. After we only had 19, and those 19 were not as severe. Furthermore the US had huge economic expansion in the 80s and 90s, which was the longest period of expansion in US history, and this took place after 1913 when the Federal Reserve was created. Sure the Fed has made a few mistakes with monetary policy, but Congress also made many mistakes with fiscal policy. We need to stop bashing the Fed.

Isn't it funny how many people voted for Obama to fix the economy without knowing what the problem is? I knew for a fact, no matter who got in, we'd still be selling debt to China to fund our foreign policy of world policing(we spend more money on military than anything) and non of our manufacturing jobs would come back to the states.
