physically speaking it is just an old star dying, yes.
but he gets his powers from our sun only because he has what I poetically called a ´red sun within´. In the movie Jor-El called it ´molecular density ´
others could call it his kryptonian legacy or his alien dna.
it is indeed a different take than the recharge scene of superman returns for example.

@pedalero Glad u liked it, it wouldnt be possible without ur hard work on this video. Check out my Supe 4 Ending, as I put ur name in the end credits.
That's not junk. That's the aftermath of Superman giving up his powers in Superman II. He kicks a few bits of it over in frustration later in the film when he treks all the way to the Fortress of Solitude to try and get his powers back.
Hey! I heard Sheik Vader is calling for an all out fitna against the Jedi crusaders. And he is calling for a ban against women super heros such as wonder woman who do not wear shrouds.
brazensteel is right. Superman being the jewish savior, and Zod being the christian savior. There are 2 scenes where an easy connection is made: at nigara falls a woman comments he must be jewish and in the next scene, Zod is walking on water
I think she said "Greek", but there are also parallels between Superman and Christ. Jor-El sending his "only son" to save us (Earth) from our sins; a messiah of sorts. Likewise, I'd always assumed the All-American Kansas bred Kent family were Baptist, Southern Baptist or some other Protestant denomination. On a side note, Reeve was a very Nordic looking Superman, IMHO. Although not stereotypically blond, he was very fine featured, tall and blue eyed.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
So was the comic book Superman. It was made by western people and is centered on western society. And guess what - that's NOT a bad thing. Should Superman be a 300lb dumpy 5'6" black guy? Or how about a tiny Asian weakling? We have standards for what is preferable and nordic is it when it comes to Superman, bigot.
When did I say it was a bad thing????? My post is actually pro-Reeve-Superman! I was just pointing out the way I view the character, as opposed to the way some other people on here see him.
Actually, Superman theme is a copy of what you will find in the Hindu ancient epic of Ramayana which describes a powerful entity known as Hanuman who could fly faster than sound and was invulnerable to any opposing force. He too had a bright red cape. The concept is copied from there....look up "Ramayana and the flight of Hanuman"
@IronManu77 what a gross generalization. I don't remember superman growing to be a large sized being. I don't remember the god taking away Supe's knowledge of his powers because he grossly misused them. So what "theme" are you referring to that was "copied"? Because Hanuman could fly? Please. That's quite a stretch, comparing Superman to the young monkey god who uses his TAIL (yes tail) to set fire to a demon village only to be named royalty later.
@evilsWa how about being invincible to anything, including the most powerful weapon. That makes him stronger than Superman. The concept of Superman is created by the Jews, and the Jews had access to a lot of Hindu books, scriptures and chants, and one of the things that caught their attention was Hanuman, who could fly with incredible speed, was extremely strong, and was celibate, just like Superman. Superman fumbled once, but Hanuman never did. And Hanuman had Lord Rama while Sup had Jorel!
@IronManu77 you are still ignoring ALL the things they DON'T share in common. The fact that you KNOW they were jews and still think they used Hindu influence is hilarious. All of the things that are "similar" are things that are "similar" in many religions. Superman's tale is way more like the Christian Jesus (sent my only son to save you) or the Jewish tale of Moses Oh by the way...that's the story that the Superman creators talk about most when they talk about Superman and his origin.
@evilsWa well obviously they are not going to talk about the concept of Superman's origins, because people like to receive full credit for their works. And definitely people do not want to back up Hinduism. Btw, Christ was a Hindu spreading peaceful teachings in the Middle East and was perceived as a grave threat to the Jewish elite, hence the crucifixion! So that makes Christians followers of Hinduism. I digress, but Indian tradition is much older and elements have been borrowed from it!
@evilsWa don't get me wrong, I think Superman is terrific, but Hanuman is also fantastic. He could life an entire mountain on the tip of his pinky and not make a fuss about it. It is the concept of super strength and ability to fly. The story of extra terrestrial origins is added to provide flavor to the concept of man's ultimate dream of flying.
@IManu77 yes but the plot devise that they use in the extra terrestrial story line is more in line with the story of Jesus (sent his only son) or the story of Moses where he is sent away in a vessel by his parents (mother) to avoid an early death. can't say 100% that they didn't use Hanuman as some form of inspiration, but I have never heard the creators or any of the later directors/artists/writiers ever site Hanuman as inspiration. I have heard them however, site christian and jewish stories.
that was the most dumbest line in a movie .. he must be jewish, superman although based on a jewish saviour seems more like a jesus figure in all aspects...but still he is just a fictionial piece of work and in no way should be ever though of as real. thankyou
In the comics there are obvious parallels to Christ, the biggest being his resurrection. But like Amsheldout said before, he was sent to earth to save humanity.
holy shoot man i didnt think of it this way zod christ walks on water makes it out to be he is a god and tells all to bow before him, there is 3 villians equaling the trinity and zod is god head,. zod almost looks christ like too with a beard,. but all in all if so then it goes to show christian bias in the movie by jews who made it. its all stupid tit for tat winding up the public crap. its a movie and leave it this way thanks..allah akbar..
yeh he was and the point........alah akbar is my signature. for allah is great for me and he doesnt have to be for u....why is it when muslims think of something others think we are trying to impose..mystery.. anyway peace all....
I am not jew but I get where you are coming from. The idea of savior is very present in the ocidental society and the Superman movies I and II are particulary orthodox in that sense. But I prefer to see the image of the hero instead of the savior, a hero like Hercules or Goliah.
Wow, howd you do that? The one thing I could not tolerate about Supes3 is the irresponsibility of not dying his hair jet black. Frequently it appears quite brown, Reeve's hair color. That and of course the obvious reasons. Neat thing you did here.
Actually, the tie doesn't rip. It sort of separates, which is indicative of the more expensive clip-ons. They're sort of like a belt, rather than an actual clip.
Because the knot is separate to the strip that is going around his neck. When he opens the shirt, he grabs hold of the tie along with it, so the knotted side doesn't move. Like I said, it's pretty much a neck belt. The piece you see coming and dangling from the other side isn't ripped, it is just a loose piece that threads through the knot and sits behind it. There is no enough force on the collar to actually rip the tie, so they used this instead.
