That's not junk. That's the aftermath of Superman giving up his powers in Superman II. He kicks a few bits of it over in frustration later in the film when he treks all the way to the Fortress of Solitude to try and get his powers back.

brazensteel is right. Superman being the jewish savior, and Zod being the christian savior. There are 2 scenes where an easy connection is made: at nigara falls a woman comments he must be jewish and in the next scene, Zod is walking on water

I think she said "Greek", but there are also parallels between Superman and Christ. Jor-El sending his "only son" to save us (Earth) from our sins; a messiah of sorts. Likewise, I'd always assumed the All-American Kansas bred Kent family were Baptist, Southern Baptist or some other Protestant denomination. On a side note, Reeve was a very Nordic looking Superman, IMHO. Although not stereotypically blond, he was very fine featured, tall and blue eyed.

Actually, Superman theme is a copy of what you will find in the Hindu ancient epic of Ramayana which describes a powerful entity known as Hanuman who could fly faster than sound and was invulnerable to any opposing force. He too had a bright red cape. The concept is copied from there....look up "Ramayana and the flight of Hanuman"

The concept of Superman is created by the Jews, and the Jews had access to a lot of Hindu books, scriptures and chants, and one of the things that caught their attention was Hanuman, who could fly with incredible speed, was extremely strong, and was celibate, just like Superman. Superman fumbled once, but Hanuman never did. And Hanuman had Lord Rama while Sup had Jorel!

All of the things that are "similar" are things that are "similar" in many religions. And definitely people do not want to back up Hinduism. Btw, Christ was a Hindu spreading peaceful teachings in the Middle East and was perceived as a grave threat to the Jewish elite, hence the crucifixion! So that makes Christians followers of Hinduism. I digress, but Indian tradition is much older and elements have been borrowed from it!

It is the concept of super strength and ability to fly. The story of extra terrestrial origins is added to provide flavor to the concept of man's ultimate dream of flying.

@IManu77 yes but the plot devise that they use in the extra terrestrial story line is more in line with the story of Jesus (sent his only son) or the story of Moses where he is sent away in a vessel by his parents (mother) to avoid an early death. can't say 100% that they didn't use Hanuman as some form of inspiration, but I have never heard the creators or any of the later directors/artists/writiers ever site Hanuman as inspiration. I have heard them however, site christian and jewish stories.

I am not jew but I get where you are coming from. The idea of savior is very present in the ocidental society and the Superman movies I and II are particulary orthodox in that sense. But I prefer to see the image of the hero instead of the savior, a hero like Hercules or Goliah.

Actually, the tie doesn't rip. It sort of separates, which is indicative of the more expensive clip-ons. They're sort of like a belt, rather than an actual clip.

then how does the side with the clip stay on one side when he rips it and there is still tie cloth hanging from the other side?

Because the knot is separate to the strip that is going around his neck. When he opens the shirt, he grabs hold of the tie along with it, so the knotted side doesn't move. Like I said, it's pretty much a neck belt. The piece you see coming and dangling from the other side isn't ripped, it is just a loose piece that threads through the knot and sits behind it. There is no enough force on the collar to actually rip the tie, so they used this instead.
