Whoa! I'll be receiving my Dano 63 Aqua Reissue next Wed and already have the Superchamp XD (Great amp tone) but I have yet to hear THIS sound using the Dano AND the Superchamp! Thank you my friend for an excellent demo of what this guitar can sound like... from the rest of the videos I had heard, it made me rethink my purchase, but just the same I was getting it as I had lived those years and was 5 in 1963 when rock & roll was on the radio ... Can't wait til Wednesday slide time yeah!
Hi there, just saw your vid. Very nice! Am thinking of getting one for open-tuning slide, can you tell me what string gauge your using? Also, did you have to adjust the nut height at all?
@drewfasa Thanks! I'm using 10s and the there is no adjustment to the nut at all. The string height at the nut is a little high and I think that helps, plus I raise the action quite a bit too.
God damn this thing has some attitude, makes my 59 sound really tame. I'm getting one, just gotta decide what colour. Just hope it sounds as good when I'm holding it!
Sounds good to me, mate. Your graceful playing is swaying me slightly I'm sure, but if I have any complaints about the 59...it's that it lacks treble and twang! I write alot of songs, and I'm moving towards a blues/rockabilly sound...with a bit of Sinatra in there for good measure. I have a couple of bits recorded(only boneheaded rock bits, though), check my channel, would love to know what you thought of it.
I'm surprised to hear the your 59 lacks twang. The 63 has tons of it! Just checked out your channel; love the surf tune. I'm not a surf player but I love listening to it!

The pickups might be a bit hotter than your 59. I was surprised when I first plugged it in.
