I went to your site and noticed - that if that is your photo on there then you must be on food stamps. Next, I can tell that you did not GOOGLE poverty line.
Further you have added nothing of intellectual strength to anything you have to say.
Hmmm The rich pay enough to have created a weight problem in the poor. Now they want the rich to pay the poor enough so they dont feel bad about being poor? That is going to help the problem.
you know, 13% of people were impoverished in 1964.
Billions of dollars and more government expansion later and 13% of americans in 1980 were IMPOVERISHED. WAKE UP LIBERALS PEOPLE DONT STAY POOR AND BIGGER GOVERNMENT IS JUST USLESS!!!!
1. it is not 1 out of 8 it is 1 out of 7 who live below the poverty line. the poverty line is set by the US government & is set high compared to other countries
2. If u spend more than u make u will always be poor
3. no one in amarica is starving
Even the POOR people here have cell phones, cars, apartments to live in, toys for their kids, who go to school & are not forced to work the streets, and most of those POOR people are OVER WEIGHT
@anyname666 Your comments 2-3 then the paragraph and the conclusion are all demonstrably false. In fact, the only thing you got right is WHO determines the income standards we use to measure poverty.

Apart from the very rich; this capitalist system makes us all indentured servants to a 'System' invented by and controlled by those rich people who run banks, corporations & governments!
This 'System' CANNOT survive without DEBT...OUR Debt is the foundation of this system.
If you are in debt (no matter how small), then you are not in control of your own life, period!
How many poor or middle income people own even one of the basic necessities of life...Your OWN home??
A whopping 45 Million U.S. Americans are currently living below the poverty line. There is too big a gap between rich and poor. The wealth should be redistributed.
@singlaprety12@singlaprety12 Yeah. Most Americans don't even know the differences between Stalinist Communism, Socialism and Democratic Socialism.
Why should redistribution of wealth even equal to socialism? Capitalism can help the poor to a certain extent but it's unfair that some Americans have no food and no home while other possess hundreds of millions or even billions, which is way more than anyone could ever need. Bill Gates recognizes he doesn't need his billions and is giving most away.
@bacabu30 I know. But I dont want to live in a world where I spend all day working three jobs only to have the same as someoe who never worked in there life on purpose! In stead I think they should lower taxes to the class between middle and rich so they can create middle business such as factorys so we could rebuild american industry and everyone could have weath they earned.
@singlaprety12 I agree with you. The rich should be taxed more. Socialism doesn't necessarily mean spongers living off the state while other work hard all day. Sweden is mildly Socialist and everyone has to contribute to society while nobody goes without. They have free, universal healthcare and have one of the highest standards of living in the world. This is possible even within a capitalist framework. I think people should always be incentivized to work hard but within a fairer society.
@singlaprety12 With all due respect, you're only 13. You neither understand nor should you be concerned with such issues. Enjoy your childhood while you still have it.
@singlaprety12 You will never be a child again, but you'll be an adult for many many years. Don't waste your childhood worrying about issues you neither fully understand nor can change. It's not a good idea to be too idealistic, especially so young, because you'll only be disappointed. The reality is, no matter how good a person you are and no matter how correct you are, there'll always be many people who never agree with you. Don't be in a hurry to grow up - You'll regret it when you're older.
a women writes the president my husband was laid off he has been doing odd jobs for money to fee our kids the children eat first before the adults my husband recently died of starvation i do not know what to do written on a soup kitchen paper plate and the republicans want to keep spending billions in tax cuts for the 2% rich among us and call the economic problem an ant of a problem predictions are almost 1/4 american kids will be poor and starving by end of this year.
In America the poverty line is set at 14% therefore by definition- without any accounting- one out of 7 are CONSIDERED poor even though they may not actually be poor
The Gov in America DOES NOT provide food stamps, housing assistance, Medicaid, welfare, scholarships, or any kind of assistance for those that live in Beverly Hills. Yet the people in Beverly Hills r the ones who pay the most for those programs
Even the poor in the USA have cell phones and are well off enough to be FAT
No. However I grew up in poverty and for a short period was homeless. I worked hard, often up to 80-100 hours a week, started a business, and became, to a certain degree "successful". My friends and family who remain poor, do the bare minimum and blame others for their shortcomings, usually work as little as possible, yet still complain about their situation. This is just my experiences. I wish you the best.
@lerock1000 ok, if there is work and the person is capeble of working, well then i guess the person can blame himselve. But there are many people who cant find jobs or is sick and unnable to work, theese people are suffering. That meens the strongest survive and the weak looses, now that aint right. sorry about my english
@lerock1000 your right i got lost there. But still i doubt it would be as easy as you say, just look at the number of unemployed people in us, i cant imagine there is work for all of them. Also i belive there is something wrong if you have to work 80-100 hours a week to survive, but thats just what i think.
Your BS "I worked 80 to 100 hours a week." That's just the beginning of your BS.
You said "there is nothing going beyond what is expected." If you were telling the truth, I would still say you are wrong. When you work more than a standard work week you are taking work from someone else. Corporations love to do this with employees paying them salary then expecting 60 hours a week of work. They cut their costs by having individuals do more than the work of 1 person.
@toddghall 80-100 hours a week is not rare for business owners, also, pointing out my experiences with family members and friends, while may be perceived as degrading, happens to be the truth. Please don't attempt to educate me about " corporations", I've been there.
precisely. You never worked that much. Your talking out your ass. I'm not saying you didn't work hard and earn something good in life, but your exaggerations are weak. You must be a lonely person, if you think so lowly of your family and friends. Sounds more like BS to strengthen your point. But hey, you have your business and your lonely life, dollar dollar bill.
We need to discipline (with extreme measures) every person in order to educate a patriotic mindset to God, country and corp. No exceptions. You go after weakness with disciplinary strength and strength with disciplinary weakness. Any resistance will be met with swift and unforgiving consequences.
what matter is how we could educate every single mind to the highest discipline. it doesn't follow that we focus on categorizing who belong to the first world or the least. what is important is open our eyes to the reality. we are all human beings of the same specie. Thus we should not create any differences because of race, ideology, economic status. Because we all need others to exist. we are by nature coexisting with another.
I do feel badly when I see a politition in a $25,000 suit or dress living it up. We have to change the way OUR tax money is being spent. Do you think these polititions would be in such a hurry to run for office if they were paid, minimum wage and could not afford medical insurance? I am very angry, why are so many people so apathedic about country> People please wake up!
Is it right that only the richest people in the country can become president now? We have to make changes. Our tax money has to fix our country first. Paying other countries to be our allies is unjustifiable blackmail. Our voices have to be heard, and LOUD. There is nobody running for President who is a better liar than the next. We work and pay taxes, and die. Is this what we want for our children?
I feel the expression, taxation without representation, is as true now as it always was. I am do discusted and tired of the way our country is being run. We are the laughing stock of the world. We think we are the best. I have traveled the world alot, and beleive me, we have a lot of work to do.
Why in one of the richest countries in the world, OUR children go to bed hungry? Why are we sending all of OUR tax dollors overseas? Why do we waste so much money, on useless countries, that have been fighting for centuries? Why must our children die because their families cannot afford medical care? Why has big business, HMO's and Polititions taken over our country?
I am not going to argue. The working poor are suffering in the US. We are wasting all of our taxed monies overseas. We are looking into living overseas so we can get some of our tax money back, not really. Things just have to change. Lazy people I have no sympathy for, it's the ones that work hard and end up taxed to death.
Fuck America what about all the poor people in the Asian Countries. Yes the wealthiest Country in the world. FUCK AMERTICA DIE YOU CUNTS hope you all burn.
