the Myth Busters are "not" able to bust all Myths, I emailed them about 2 biggest and most common Myths in the world that they have not busted and got no reply from them, FAIL.
SF6 (Sulfur hexaFluoride) is a greenhouse gas that when compared to CO2 is 22,000 times more harmful. So remember that when you release 1Kg of this gas to atmosphere is has the same effect you would have releasing 22000Kg of CO2.
Plus it is a greenhouse gas regulated by the kyoto protocol.
If he put the tinfoil in upside down, it might have floated because air would get trapped between the gas and the foil because the sides would retain the air.
@mrnobodyouknow this is truee, but then they wouldnt be busting the myth that they saw in the video, the boat was right way up in that, very true, but not what they were looking for
@alvachan88 You are wrong. The huge ships you see out on the ocean are made of heavy metals, usually steel, which is much, much heavier than water. The same concept applies here.
@alvachan88 You're forgettign that density is dependent on both mass AND volume.
Ex: A normal slice of bread will float on water, but if I crush the bread and roll it into a ball, it will sink. The mass is the same in both scenarios, but since the volume changed, so did density.
OMG OMG !! WHAT DID HE INHALE SECOND?! THATS IS VOICE WAS SO AMAOZING!?!? CAN I BUY THAT IN GERMANY IN A NORMAL STORE?! PLS REPLY ME SOMEONE!!! :C i didnt understand him :(
its cuz the boat sucks, same principle as a bad boat sinking cuz water is letting in. The gas is going in the boat which causes it to go heavy which causes it to sink.
Sound travels faster in a more dense medium. Sorry Adam but your description just doesn't make sense. My guess is your vocal chords vibrate more rapidly in a less dense gas. The speed of sound can't be involved otherwise the results would be opposite of what we see... or hear.
@RoseHHS infact you can test this with a simple video editor what happens if you speed up a video and its sound it ssounds squeeky i know this isent because of the sound at this time i know it isent the same thing but it works on 80% of the same princibles
they used Sulfur Hexoflouride Gas as "invisible water"
and sulfur hexoflouride is 6 times denser than Air, and denser things always stays on bottom, and nothing which is least dense can go under it, like balloon filled with air! cause the denser substance pushes it upwards with a force and the atmospheric pressure pushes it down the the exact amount of force, which confuses the balloon which direction to go, thats why it floats!
My favorite phrase, "And my voice gets really low, and yet somehow I'm still funny! It's scientific!"
