Ex: A normal slice of bread will float on water, but if I crush the bread and roll it into a ball, it will sink. The mass is the same in both scenarios, but since the volume changed, so did density.

its cuz the boat sucks, same principle as a bad boat sinking cuz water is letting in. The gas is going in the boat which causes it to go heavy which causes it to sink.

Sound travels faster in a more dense medium. Sorry Adam but your description just doesn't make sense. My guess is your vocal chords vibrate more rapidly in a less dense gas. The speed of sound can't be involved otherwise the results would be opposite of what we see... or hear.

@RoseHHS infact you can test this with a simple video editor what happens if you speed up a video and its sound it ssounds squeeky i know this isent because of the sound at this time i know it isent the same thing but it works on 80% of the same princibles

the reason is:

they used Sulfur Hexoflouride Gas as "invisible water"

and sulfur hexoflouride is 6 times denser than Air, and denser things always stays on bottom, and nothing which is least dense can go under it, like balloon filled with air! cause the denser substance pushes it upwards with a force and the atmospheric pressure pushes it down the the exact amount of force, which confuses the balloon which direction to go, thats why it floats!

if you break the glass, the balloon sinks!
