avoid the PS1 one at all costs. Slow low times, it has videos but you can see them on youtube. it's a mess.

gba is what you see there, backbone game with extra dungeon at end.

psp is the gba version with upgraded graphics and some sick looking magic stuff. also I think the videos from the ps1 are on the psp.

I understand what you mean by the levels, I suppose they tried simpler stuff like Fire1, Ice2, Lightning3 in games like 7 but I suppose thye finally settled upon the cooler sounding Fire, Fira, Firaga, Blizzard, blizzara, Blizzaga, Thunder, Thundara, and Thundaga, you get what I mean. Then I notice in some of the later games there's a level higher than Firaga, etc. Which in those terms would be Firaja. Weird...

Final Fantasy 9: I like the way this game returns to the sources of Nintendo systems. This game has undoubtedly one of the saddest stories in an RPG ever, especially everything concerning Vivi. Gotta like the little fellow.

Final Fantasy 10: a "skim" game with far less skills and magics than before. I consider this game the beginning of the end.I've seen better plots, too, and gameplay is just too simple. Good, but no excellent.

Final Fantasy 7: I must admit, it IS overrated. It is still one of the best IMHO. I like Sephiroth because he is a villain with justified emotions, not a psychopath like, say, Seymour or Exdeath.

Final Fantasy 8: Avoid playing this as your first RPG. I find the junction system to be rather complicated and you just HAVE to depend on it, more than any other ability system. Once you figure it out though, this game is really great. And this game has one of the best graphics for PS1

Final Fantasy 4: The first RPG with a Luke-I-Am-Your-Father plot twist. And the first game in the series that treats every summon as a living being and not an Item. Liked a lot.

Final Fantasy 5: Ah, the pioneer of the complicated ability systems of future games, also starting the oh-so-famous tradition of No System Challenges. And the game that gave birth to Blue Magic.

Final Fantasy 6: I really like the Esper ability system. And Kefka is hilarious.

My opinion on all Final Fantasies:

Final Fantasy 1: TOO DAMN SHORT! Shorter than Suikoden I, which means A LOT. The "Garland-Chaos-2000-Year-Cycle­" was quite ingenious for that time, so I credit that.

Final Fantasy 2: Not long enough, either. Cliche Rebels-Versus-Evil-Emperor plot. strangest level up system ever. Liked that.

Final Fantasy 3: One word: elusive. I have yet to play it, but I have seen scenes. Gotta give credits to the birth of the summons tradition.

i first beated him w/o blood (missed it...) and used Rippers (they do 20xHIT after the attack).

second time i win him with normal attacks.

Umm... You're in 3 places at once, so I'll go through them one by one.

Firstly, have you shown the guy blocking your path in Leviathan the Crystal Rod? that makes him join your party.

Second, You need to train for Hill Giga and Captains. Easy as that.

Also, you can get a Pass when you first try to enter the dreadnaught to halt its build, by going to the right from where you stand when it takes off. Show that to the dude blocking your way, and he lets you in,
