Yeah, the mini gen isn't easy to learn.

One thing I found is that the length of string and the positioning of your right hang holding the string is REALLY important.

If you hold the string too close to the left stick it makes it a lot harder to release the diabolo. Try holding the string closer to the right stick (the one that's been let go).

Ideally you want to release the diabolo with less "free" string.

Does this make sense?

The way I understand your comment is to swing the diabolo and hold the right stick(that is being let go) closer to the axle when being thrown.

@movieman12341 No, sorry. Start again. Mini gen instructions:

1. Get the diabolo on the underside of the string (reverse catch etc.)

2. Swing the diabolo to your right.

3. Let go of the right stick.

4. When you let go of the right stick, you need to immediately grab onto the right STRING with your right hand. This is what I was referring to - you should experiment grabbing the right string at different lengths.

I love your tutorial. Now, I have almost mastered this in just a few hours thanks to your awesome tutorial.

However, I really want to learn the Mini-Genocide exit and have a question:

How do you time the release because if I let go of the string to early, the diabolo gets no height. On the other hand, if I release late, the diabolo never comes off the string.

How do I do it right?

does the sun twist the string at all? or does it just help the suicide. and also do you start with a wrap or no wrap?

Good questions.

The sun does NOT twist the string. A sun between the arms means that the string is always in the same position (un-twisted).

It's possible to do this trick with NO sun - Start the trick just by grabbing the RIGHT STRING with your RIGHT HAND. This means you don't need the sun but the trick doesn't look as good :)

I start with NO wrap. The only time there's a wrap around the diabolo's axle is at 0:10.

@richardclement after catching the string seen at 0:49. Whilst twirling it in the oposite direction the Diabolo seems to be tilting heavily forward. Any sugestions

@LegacyConnor If the diabolo EVER tilts for ANY trick, it means that the string is NOT at a 90 degree angle the the diabolo's axle. i.e the string isn't in a straight line - it is on a bad angle to the diabolo. This is the same for when you start doing the basics with diabolo and also when you do advance tricks.

So, the thing you need to look out for is your left or right hand being too far forward from the other hand - are they in line with each other and at 90 degrees to the diabolo?

@GrabHenne Sorry, not sure what you mean. Unless you're talking about the loop acceleration I did. You can just start with a sun to the left from a standing still position.

@AznnDestroyer Can you post a video of it? would make it a lot easier to see what you're doing wrong.

If you lengthen the string that goes over the diabolo, it might slow it down and make it easier.

Also, practice lifting with your right hand for longer (3:08). It might give you more time with that stick.

I only use the longer ones (35cm I think). I got used to using longer wooden sticks before all the good quality sticks started to get manufactured. Also, I find the longer sticks are better for the high stuff.
