Hmm... the only movie i can remember in my childhood that i first watched in the theatres was a Pokemon movie. It's funny, cause i remember clearly that the audio stopped working and it was taking too long for them to fix, so we just left. Ahaha!
first move i saw was bambi for the 50th anniversary re-release in cinemas. i think this was in 1992. hmm, but i would've only been 2 and i remember it really well... maybe it was 1993..
I also remember seeing Ghost Dad and... Alladdin, though there was one other movie before Aladdin that I saw, but.. I cant think of it... Fern Gully ?
does finding nemo count?? we had to go really late and i was only 6 so my dad kept telling me how much i was going to be punished if i didn't go to sleep immeditaely after we came home. The sad thing is, i don't remember anything about the movie except for the pelicans.
I think it was Lion King. But I'm sure I actually saw something else in theaters before, I just don't remember. Lion King was the first Disney movie I saw in theaters but I think I saw others at my house... maybe?
first disney movie i think is cinderella.. i love cinderella! i love the notion of living happily ever after...hhahaha... i remember my younger sister loves little mermaid so much that she actually wants to become a mermaid!! and i cried that time coz she's gonna leave me and will reside in the deep ocean if she's going to be a mermaid..
I don't know what I saw first, but the earliest movies I remember seeing are: Beauty and the Beast, Lion King, Casper, Starship Troopers, Mars Attacks &Jurassic Park like you x] &there's gonna be Toy Story 3?? What in the world!
That is true, it is pixar. I hope your right...They have been on a pretty good streak lately. Speaking of Movies Did you see the new tron trailer? thats about to complete my childhood.
My movie is: Escape from the witch mountain.... I googled the title and found out that the title is actually "Escape to witch mountain." This is a Disney Movie, too and you can watch it here on Youtube.
I remember sitting on my step father's lap and hiding my eyes because the Nazi scene in Sound of Music terrified me. That's my earliest movie theatre memory. And the coolest part is that my step dad saw the Von Trapp family, the one the movie is about, perform when he was in college. So I feel connected to that film. Don't remember first Disney, but my fave is Robin Hood (who, yes, was my imaginary playmate when I was 5).
My first movie was about dinosaur. I think I went there with my cousins and some adults. The screen was too big and dinosaur was so loud and scared me. Hmmm, I don't know which one was my first Disney movie. Maybe the Lion King? Or Toy Story?
I seriously can't remember what was the first movie I've ever seen though I remember the first Jackie Chan movie I've ever seen in theaters was Rumble in the Bronx..
As for the first Dysney movie... I saw the attraction parks in Orlando before I've even seen one movie (^ω^;) and to my memory perhaps the first one I've watched was Bambi or Fantasia?
In theatres it would be Lion King. The one I've watched the most was Aladdin like 6 times.
The first movie I remember seeing in theaters was Raiders of the Lost Ark. I was 4 but it made such an impression on me! First Disney movie was Robin Hood.
Referred to my mum on the first question. Her response, "Hell if I know! ...good question, though." Haha.
I feel like it might have been the '90 Fantasia
As I delve back, it seems I was raised by Disney movies... Hm. No idea which was the first I saw, perhaps 'Snow White' or 'Bambi'. My parents kept the tapes on the lowest shelves so I could pull them out and watch them whenever I wanted. Eventually, they put a portable TV in my room for them. :/ ...I still know every line to the Lion King. :P
hmmm I think Oliver and Company was my frist movie in theaters..it's also a Disney movie so it works... but I think the first disney movie I watched on VHS was either Marry Poppins or Whinnie the Pooh. aaaah I'm a late 80's kid ^_^
I clearly remember Lion King as one of the first. It was summer and fuckin hot as all hell. I musta been pretty little then cause i could get away with wearing my bathing suit just about anywhere. haha. good times.
Though, it seems that i saw Jurassic Park when it came out cause my little brother was absolutely in love with it. It scared me shitless. LOL. Maybe it scarred me for life and i blocked it out of my mind. LOL.
I do remember my first Disney movie was kinda a weird one, but I was 4, and I think my first was was the same one. I think it was.. The Little Mermaid... either that or it was Beauty and the Beast. one of those two.
the first movie i ever saw was E.T. yeah i am that old. i dont remember it at all. the first movie i remember seeing was indiana jones. my first disney movie was fival. i once saw poltergeist when i was like 6. fell in love with horror movies after that.
First movie I saw in theater was "Hong Kil Dong" or "Shaolin Temple 3" I was about 10 years old that time. First Disney movie I saw..ehhh... I think it was "Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas" on VHS.
I think the first movie I watched in theaters was Pocahontas. I can't remember anything before that but I know I watched the little mermaid obsessively when I was like 2.
Return of the Jedi is the first movie I know I saw in a theater, I remember driving to the theater, I remember what the theater looks like on the outside, I remember seeing one of the Halloween movies there when I was in high school, but I have no memories of seeing Jedi in the theater itself. Weird.
Both questions have the same answer: Beauty and the Beast! But...I don't remember seeing it...I just know that I did see it XD My parents just told me about it. Other than that? I really don't REMEMBER what my first one was...
Holy crap Brian... you still remember what movie you saw first in theaters?! I just remember the first movie that had a major impact on me was Forrest Gump. I left the movie theaters at age 5 telling my mom "This is the greatest movie I have ever seen in my life." Other than that I remember watching movies like Austin Powers, The Matrix..
And as far as Disney, A Goofy Movie and Hercules were the first. And they rocked my socks. I still watch the DVD's to this day lol. (And Toy Story too!)
Hmm the first video I remember seeing and the first Disney movie was Pocahontas (I'm so spelling that wrong.) But that was the first movie I remember seeing at the cinema. I'm sure it probably wasn't the first but my memory's vague...
My first movie in the theaters was Pocahontas. Back then I use to think cartoon characters were real people so after the movie I cried and cried because I wanted to meet Pocahontas. =)
I've had more years to forget which was first, but it was probably The Love Bug or one of its sequels. The first I distinctly remember was from seven years or so later. I remember seeing Midway with my dad, grandfather and sister in 1976. My sister wasn't old enough to understand what was going on, so my grandfather had to explain who was shooting at who. It's the only time I ever remember seeing a movie with my grandfather, so maybe that's why it's still my favorite war movie.
First theater movie I remember was probably Return of the Jedi back in 83 or The Empire Strikes Back in 80. I remember something "star wars" definitely. :)
First R movie was definitely Fast Times at Ridgemont High.
Disney movies in the early 80s were limited to the old classic stuff I think... meh.
The weird things, is that I basically stopped going to theatres, I guess I don't like the experience, and would rather sit comfortably in my bed watching my TV.
i think the oldest one i remember is star wars ep 1 cuz i remmber we had to wait hours in line for tickets XD i dont really remember my first disney movie in theaters. prolly was toy story
hahaha. yea since i watched the first screening in my town there were tons of people dressed up and etc. and when the movie started everyone raised their lightsabers in the air...... i felt so left out XD
About regular movie I really don`t remember seeing any in the theater becouse i live in small country and it wasn`t so common to go to movies when I was under 10
I think King Lion with Simba and all that stuff but maybe the title is wrong couse It was long time ago and translated in latvian and I haven`t thought about since now. I remember I had a book also about this story and when I watched the movie I cried when the top lion was killed :D Oh well it was long time ago.

YEah, it was a fun day with the mother. Wish I could remember which cinema it was but it's changed names a couple of times between the 80's and now. For some reason I think it is what's now known as Greater Union but can't be sure.
I think I saw one of the batman movies in theatres when I was ultra young like 2 or 3... I think my dad didn't think it was gonna freak me out but it did.
Woah you've actually got me. I cannot remember the first movie i saw in theaters... that's probably because i've been going since i was very small.
I don't remember which movie i saw first... especially since i was a girl growing up in america during the 1990's and have therefore grown up watching disney movies since birth. But i do know my favorite when i was around 2 or maybe even less was "The Little Mermaid". I would force people to watch it over and over and over and over. and over...
first movie I saw as a kid in a movie theater was Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi(saw it in like 98 99 or somethin S:, fell asleep halfway ~_~. First Disney movie is umm, either tarzan, mulan, or some other movie i cannot remember ):
I think the first movie I ever saw in a theatre was a Disney movie - Fantasia which we went to see in Wellington in 1982. Second flick was Empire Strikes Back, also in NZ. I didn't really start watching movies and understanding them until I was in Singapore in 1983 (6-7 years old), where I saw Return of the Jedi, E.T., Raiders of the Lost Ark and so on.
The first movie I /remember/ watching in theaters was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II. It's still a great movie to watch with pizza and beer. The first Disney movie I remember is Jungle Book.
The first movie i ever saw in the theaters was also a Disney movie. The Lion King. I think i fell asleep while watching it but i got it in vhs and loved it.
Hmm... the only movie i can remember in my childhood that i first watched in the theatres was a Pokemon movie. It's funny, cause i remember clearly that the audio stopped working and it was taking too long for them to fix, so we just left. Ahaha!

I would force people to watch it over and over and over and over. and over...

Good times, great vid!
Peace
