  • man i missed this sic tune

  • I LOVE this song!

  • Oh man, I freakin love this jam! I bump this on my way to wednesday night bible study! Me and my homies like to roll the windows down and scream out bible versus at random ppl passing by lolz, John Reuben is the definition of hard.

  • This album was when he was in him prime. Every album he has made after this has gotten progressively worse (Although I did like hindsight but it was still not nearly as a good as Are We there Yet).

  • do not not tell me what i can and cannot do please God, this is the people who yearn to here your voice.

  • @Bemersd actually, Jesus was a real man. Mixing rap and religion is just another way to praise God, so I really don't think that it is dumb. Many people do believe in Jesus and His salvation as well, I would wonder if you had heard/understood the message because if you had I wouldn't think that you would be saying this (:

  • Make your order now # lushfmlk.info #

  • the do not in the background is a little bit annoying

  • hes not "good for a white guy,"

hes not "good for a Christian rapper."

    he's good. period.

it's not on the radio because the radio is for music that can't stand on it's own. good music doesn't need the radio.

away the childhood memory came back!

    I love the video!

  • Why is a Christian music video tagged as nude and lesbian?

  • @PeachyBoyForChrist to convert the perverts who search for lesbians on youtube

  • @PeachyBoyForChrist raise views.

  • @PeachyBoyForChrist LOL...I have no idea. Or maybe it was to attract those viewers seeking fleshly things to listen to this and be enlightened. Then again...who knows...

  • he looks like the napolean dynamite

  • I just saw him live last night haha he is SO awesome he was so funny and had so much energy he's so fun :) and he has great music!

  • is creation still at the agape farm? i havent been there since like 04. The best time was when they had it at hershey :D

  • It was at Agape this year. And next year I think. I loved it (:

  • white boy can rap

  • love this song!

  • SweetSongDudeeeee

  • i luv this song!

  • do not can i can i rock!

  • It's "Do Not Tell me what I can and can not do when I Rock".

  • Dope track.

  • I love this song, wish there were more like this played on the radio/tv today :)

  • beast

  • I must disagree, KJ 52 is decent enough and I actually got one of those (LP?)'s he released but John Reuben is more my type. He may not rap so much but his message comes on more then words and a looping beat. Not all wrong (Big respect for Mars Ill, T Bone, Red Cloud, ect) but John's better with word play and feeding people "Brain Food". It comes down to your preference. Just my 2 cents. Peace

  • good point hiphop is what speaks to you .... i like mars ill and playdough

  • Great concept for this video! WOW!

  • He's not just a good christian rapper, he's a good rapper period. I wish his stuff got more radio play.

  • dude is toooooo sick!!!!!!!

  • if you like rap check out lecrae hes got good music

  • im into rappers like kanye, lil wayne, eminem, and young jeezy. but john rueben is the shit

  • yeah, i think he's better than that fool asher roth

  • definately.

  • ok so if u ppl wat an altunitive to enimem look up kj-52 hes preety cool but john rueben is awesome to

  • get a little coke-fry-and cheeseburger going on, hilarious song =D

  • You know, I wasn't all that impressed with this song, but he was a Christian hiphop and I just wanted an alternative to Enimem, but now I listen to this and find it good both lyrically and meaningful. His raps got better the older I got.

  • I'm not trying to be pro-east coast underground or anything, but when you compare the lyrics of today's Christian hip-hop to stuff from 2000, we've steered away from great poetics and hard-hitting messages and more towards banging beats with a shallow message (actually that's hip-hop in general). That DJ Premier sound with turn-tablism and lyrics like John's are the definition of great Christian hip-hop. If only flavour like this was still common today, cuz it ain't old skool.

  • lol

  • hes look so much younger here lol man

  • i create for the creator not to impress you

words to live by. love this song

  • Haha mann what a good video, John Reuben knew how to keep it old school better than any other christian artist i know of. Even in his music today he keeps it old school. D.C. Talk, Newsboys, Pillar, P.O.D., Skillet, and a few others had some of the best old school music, but it's just not the same any more :-(

  • what about kj-52 his music is pretty old school have u heard his songs? actually most of his songs sound like something from the 80's

  • Ah of course you can never forget KJ-52 one of my favorites. My dad and I really like the song plain white rapper in a plain white minivan. The words are hilarious. My dad is not a fan of rap at all but he likes how plain white rapper debunks the rapper stereotype.

  • yeah he is a pretty funny guy...if you have not already then u should hear his song "coke, fries, and cheeseburger" lol just classic

  • I LOVE KJ!

  • haha like stuck in the 80's!

  • Lol nice job huh? Ice cream man... John Reuben is such a good cristian artist! My little sister (soon 12 years old) LOOOOVES this song.

  • lol "ice cream man incites riot." he looks like such a whiteboy in the video but he's amamzing!

  • best (and more or less only) Good Christian rapper

  • I know John and we went to school together at Reynoldsburg in Ohio. He has some skillz and I went to a couple of small shows he had in Columbus.

  • Yo, tell me he doesn't look like Jamie Kennedy!!

  • This song was the shits back in the day, even now it rocks. ^^

  • and they don't think it's weird when he just starts singing while serving ice cream. i love this, and i've loved it since it first came out!

  • Original Material My Crew Non Stop!! lol

  • Do not tell what I can and cannot do when I rap. I love thiss :D

  • nice

  • I like this song! Yeah, do not!

  • love(d) this...love

  • ooo, I've loves john reuben since I was like 4 when my brother told me about him, and now I'm 12!! ever since that he's been my fav-or-ite!!

  • ok the vid was a bit cheesy but i get the message the song brings. the last like minute though was sad 'cause in so countries though u can not do "what u do when u rock" (in other words share ur faith w/ other ppl)i love though the vibe the song gives off- u can't tell me t be quiet so u just betta get used to what ya hear- type of thing ya know?

  • dont worry i dont get the vid either

  • I luv this song. It has a good message. But i dont get da music vid...Can someone tell me? My fave part is " do not tell me wut i can and cannot do when i rock"

  • hahaha! i luv ths stuff!

  • sigh... i wish reuben would get back to his roots. i miss the old stuff. his first 2 albums were his best, in my opinion. pro rapper was good but you could hear the transition to that more electric sound. then he threw that annoying buzzy synth in every song on boy vs the cynic... which i think had its moments... word of mouth was a little better... i just really hope his new album is more like hindsight. i really really miss that old school style.

  • John Reuben POWNES KJ 52!

  • John Reuben and KJ 52 are actually friends, man. Besides, Mt. Dew Anonymous is probably the better song of these two. :)

  • well i know hes his own person but a goofy white christian rapper? its been done before that being said im not saying i dont like him i just think its kinda repetitive BUT the only thing that matters is that there both christian and love God and wanna Live for him so all this ranting im doing is pointless haha.

  • wow someones a wannabe kj-52

  • KJ's awesome, but John's his own person. =) <33

  • CAN'T FORGET LYRYCYST.

  • why is it as humans we cling to only what we know, never expanding; steppin' out that comfort zone"

  • "do not stereotype the individual, 'cause what you hear on your stereo is not the typical"

  • I can't get enough of this song...i've been listening to this cut for 10 years and it hasn't got old

  • LOL!!!! I've loved this song since when it came out!!!!!!!!!!! John Reuben is my total fav.!

  • i just like the little girl's part & the beat.. lol the beginning killed it

  • I love this song, this was all I listened to....

  • lol oh my! i remember watchin this vid some time ago- now i can understand it better :)

  • Wow it's got a punk style, but a hip hop beat

  • I searched for this to relive some memories. Hah, good times.

  • ahh, i love this song :)

haha, i mean, how can you not like it??

  • OMG, this song is awesome. I remember when this song first came out and I still get hyped when I hear the first few seconds. Woot!

  • This song is amazing.

  • Oh my gosh! I love this song! LOL

  • i used to turn the speakers up.... wow my best song by J.B

  • "I create for the creator but not to impress you" I love that attidude he has. its just great. His lyrics really challenge people to take a look at themselves and figure out what they are living for and who they are really trying to impress. When it comes down to it the only one worth impressing is God.

  • Woot, woot!

  • haha i love john reuben

  • I love this songs.

  • Amazing.

  • this is tha shit man! i saw him live at the eo youth day in the netherlands, and it was great!

  • I've seen him perform this live a few times, its such a great song.

  • Ha. And people say that Christian music,R&B/rap sucks. This is the perfect song that shows it's just as good as any other rap music out there. Because today, there are many rap artists that can't even rap clean..which to me, is pretty hilarious.

  • not only that, but they rap about THE SAME FLIPPIN' THING!!!

  • I saw this in Barbados years ago... such a tight song.

  • John Reuben is offically my fav artist. The guy is incredible!!!

  • I remember this video

  • john rue is untouchable, what more can you say?

  • John Reuben- Certified Gangsta* Lol, did u guys catch dj Form & Coffee from Grits in the vid? Their part of the swat team.

  • That's good! :0)

  • Yes yes.

    =)

  • Awsome ^^

  • I love his music <3

  • Awesome song and awesome music video! Goes perfectly together, and it's so true!

  • I don't get it.

  • John Reuben is very good about having his songs about individuality. Don't be afraid to be who you are meant to be and who God meant you to be.

  • thanx

  • "I don't get it"

The video is in the workds of John Reuben himself "an icecream man that want's to perform so bad he startes breaking down perfoming in front of kids who don't care."

as for a clearer meaning of the songs read the words and it makes sence.

  • ScienceGeekJesusFreak The song is about a guy who is desperate to preform and rap about God on stage, noone books him so since he wants to rap so badly he starts rapping in front of kids who clearly don't care and just wants their Ice Cream :). I like this song

  • I hope you meant the VIDEO is about that. Cause obviously the song is about people who have all allowed themselves to be stereotyped into a mold and he wants people to break free of tradition but remain respectful and loving human beings...

  • yea the video.

  • good song... stupid dance
