This is an absolutely mind-blowing, unparalleled TREASURE!!! Thank You doesn't cut it. Beyond grateful ^_^ It's so glaringly obvious who blazed the trail for all the talented acts to follow (even right up to the modern day neo-psychedelia & shoe-gaze type stuff, e.g. the amazing Brian Jonestown Massacre)...it was certainly 13th Floor Elevators who inspired all such followers to "elevate" their game into this niche genre created for the all-too-few members of the "musically cool" audience. Wow.
Roky Erikson was to the U.S. what Syd Barrett was to England: Guitarist, Vocalist, Performer, Adventurer, Traveler, Gyspy, Sage, Shaman, Acid Casualty, Hero, Musical Daddy, Victim and Victor.
She must be my grandmother's age. I been lookin for years at these people, the girl in light colored with dark trim right under Roky. So excited about the music! Where are these people? You know how many cool bands they've seen? Any of y'all out there? Sure would like to know what it was like back then!
Holy crap. Dude, this video is incredible. Where did you find it? I never noticed the foliage in the background in the other versions. This is so clean! I bet I watch it 20+ times before work looking for what else I've missed. Wow. Very nice. Thanks so much for the post.
Between Bandstand and Where the Action is there are 100's of videos. I feel he defined the Garageband genre by putting all those bands on his shows. I hope that company releases them. All mine are crappy quality with timestamps.
A real Sixties gem and snappy video. But what is Charlie Sheen doing in the pool and why is the announcer on the 15th floor?
