WOW!! I'm very impressed! Can't wait to use your recipe, it looks AWESOME! Great job teaching 'how to' make it, really simple to follow suit. Coconut creme pie is one of my faves!!! THANK YOU CANDRA! :) :) :)
@SwordofSpirit1 Thank You very much for your kind words and best of luck with your fabulous coconut cream pie!!!! You're going to love it!!! thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!
I am having trouble with it being runny. Am I not cooking it long enough? My recipe is the same, but calls for Half & Half instead of milk and I do not separate my egg. Could either of those make a difference? I am trying your exact recipe next!
@gunnerduke61 If it's not cooked long enough, it won't thicken as much. I have never made a cream pie using egg whites .. only the yolks. If you added three whole eggs instead of just the egg yolks alone, that would add more liquid to your filling and would require more thickener. I hope this helps :) Thanks very much for stopping by and taking the time to write :)
@CookingWithCandra My wife made me run to the store for ingredients!! Your recipe was THE BEST!! She kept her Half&Half but followed your advice to a T! She used only yolks and added the ingredients as you described. Looks like our coconut cream soup is a thing of the past!~ Thanks and Blessings to you!!
@gunnerduke61 That is FABULOUS!!!!!! Thanks so much for taking the time to write...I love hearing the wonderful success stories :) Have a great weekend!
i love this recepie .me and my friends had a deal to make a coconut cream pie.we didint know how to make it and we saw your recepie it realy helped us out.thank you.
5 Stars! :) Wow! This video really inspires me! I am 11 years old, & I've ALWAYS wanted to become a baker when I grow up, Especially a Pie Baker! I love Pie! &, Especially when it comes to Coconut Cream Pie! I'll try this one day!
I've made this Pie several times and it's the best Coconut Cream Pie EVER! I plan on making 1 for Thanksgiving tomorrow. You have got to try this recipe!!!
@JK30 You sure can, but it's really not necessary. I would suggest trying it without the coconut milk first and if that doesn't give you the flavour you are looking for, go ahead and use the coconut milk. Thanks for watching:)
Lol! My friend buys vanilla essence in giant 1 litre bottles as well! ^_^ his father owns a business and is part of the exclusive club that shops at the bulk supermarket and buys 50 kg of rice o.O
Fabulous pie C ! Absolutely decadent ! Your pastry looks super yummy & tender. Thanks for another great baking video ! P.S. Made your Molasses Oatmeal bread and it was to die for. I remember a commercial bread that tasted similar but its been long off the marketplace. Toasting it with lots O butter is heavenly. You're the best !
@mukwah1111 I can always count on you for great comments...Thanks! I'm glad your oatmeal brown bread turned out beautifully! It always reminds me of an oatmeal brown bread that was on the market when I was a kid. That's been gone a looooooooong time now!
@CookingWithCandra Exactly ! I remember that bread also. Its was fab. Guess its too costly to make these days? The molasses is substantial in the recipe..tho commercial bakers would certainly have a cost advantage over us "lay bakers"...oh well...guess its up to us to keep scratch baking alive eh With pleasure !
I looove coconut! You can't take my coconut away afterall I grew up in South east Asia!:) I can't wait to make this all to myself!

Can you substitute the milk with coconut milk, so it has more coconut flavor?
