  • Great song Steve.!

We've been deceive people, We don't benefit from war, The governments do and the corporations behind those governments who pick our pockets with a smile.

Vote - YELL - Kick- Scream what ever you have to do, But get our troops home and out of idiots control. We've been compromised. And we're gonna fall if we let them roll this way.

The men and women fighting for our leaders don't recognize this compromise. And those who disagree with me, Are Blinded by it some how.

  • 'OUT OF IRAQ AND AFGHANISTAN NOW! IT'S UP TO YOU.

  • @chiefashley56 Out of Iraq and Afghanistan? My best friend just got deployed to Iraq last week and I'm going to Afghanistan on April 19th.

  • @GregorGrigorio

    Sure ;)

  • I just want the world to know, I, we, America was lied to, by an person who took an oath under God to lead us. This person went on to steal an election in order to, at all cost, highjack our political system. He stacked the supreme court so that now, all of our politicians can be legally bought, and sold. We are spinning toward facism and we are like passangers on a highjacked plane. Do a quick browser search for "the 14 points of Facism" Its scary!

  • @wilddeucerocks Ha Obama aint that bad

  • when did camp casey go from korea to the sand?

  • @cletistheslackjawedy

Different Camp Casey - it was an encampment outside of Bush's estate in Texas of people protesting against the Iraq war. It was started by Cindy Sheehan, whose son Casey was kllled in Iraq.

  • Love Steve Earl! He tells it like it is. Eff the rest of you!

  • I fucking love this country and shit but it kinda pisses me off a little bit when people from the military who have done tours bitchin about the war nobody fucking made u join its not like vietnam when there was a draft if u dont like the war and dont support it then why join and then bitch about it

  • i love steve earle. i'm a war vet. spent more than two years in Afghanistan. love the army and i love steve. went from one end of the U.S. to the other to see him. steve fucking earle. his music has gotten me through two fucking tours. steve, i love you.

  • @sgtakable I feel the same way, man.

  • Lovely. Love that man.

  • Served 30 years British Army , The war is wrong and the people who gained were the backers of your President as they got the contracts for the re-buliding and who suffered "Trailer Park Trash " and the unemployable from UK Housing Schemes ( Projects ) Soldiers no longer fight for freedom we fight where our Politicians and there backers send us , When Soldiers fight it is for their neighbour in the " Foxhole " and for the Regiment

  • I agree with all of what you say, you're 'on it', as they say.

I live in Scotland, a place where the Brit Army have also been able to aquire their cannon fodder easily; unemployment, traditional industries almost disappeared etc...

There are young men & women coming back here in body bags, sickeningly regularly, if we're to believe the BBC and the images they transmit. There are only 5 million people here In Scotland. (continued)

  • From (continued)

Each generation seems to produce another stripey trouser 'brigade', who seem to encourage war and get these contracts that you mention, it's blood money really, don't you think?

THEY ought to be the ones to go and carry out their own filthy business of war and leave the 'youth' alone. The son (or daughter shouldn't fight the fathers (or mothers) war, as did Bonnie Prince Charlie & George W Bush

I'm aware that it's a volunteer force in the UK (continued)

  • From continued 2 ((There's no such thing as a trully Scottish Regiment) and once you're in, you can't say NO, to anything obviously. oldiers are bereft of politics

I don't think the population expect their young people to actually die in these conflicts which seem to be ultimately about money / loot.

Some would say that Iraq was about oil, and Afghanistan was about drugs

(ironically from the innocent poppy which is symbolic of something else in the UK)

  • (last part) sorry about the rant.

Steve Earle doesn't have to deal with this subject in his music, (I just wish he'd do the song and cut out the preamble) but if he don't, there's not that many who will. He's an artist, this is what we expect from certain artists and they are beyond my critisism in that context. The world needs artists and dreamers. Send the OAP's (i'm nearly one myself) to the effing wars. Peace

  • I am Scottish and live there

  • I totally agree brother,my daddy was shot in the face in vietnam, never got over what he did and saw, people are so naive, when did it become when you criticize the war, its equated with accusing the soldiers, us poor boys ought to wake up.weve always been cannon fodder for rich mens wars!

  • I'm an ex marine, viet nam vet and I volunteered because I thought we were fighting for freedom of humans...not for a flag, country or philosophy... I still believe in freedom, I was willing to die for yours and now I'm willing to kill for mine. I love Steve Earle because he is honest & true to himself... that to me is freedom. Steve isn't about entertainment. - He's about change. If you haven't walked in someone elses shoes then why do you think that you know them well enough to criticize em.

  • OK, point taken. My thought is it cost the Dixie Chicks their career, rather than cashing in.

  • music is the voice of the people....some people that entertain have oppinions....I cant say for sure...But i dont think that steve had dollar signs in his eyes when he did this...

  • its funny you picked the only leftist country singers when there are numerous country songs about america "kickin' ass," keeping god in the pledge of allegiance, etc.

if you turn on CMT it's basically a minstrel show for white people, stereotyped fake cowboys who have never worked a day in their lives doing stereotyped things, appalachia, kansas, and oklahoma used to have the poorest white folks and the biggest socialist movements

  • i agree country music today is lame and cheesy and commercialized. i dont want to hear anybody singing about war, right or wrong. if i want politics, i'll watch CNN. why does music need to be serious? i love SE, just hate this kind of topic, period.

  • music can be fun, but war is a great source of pain for many people and it's only natural they'd want to work through that pain with music...

the dixie chicks I can't comment on but Earle and Van Zandy both struggled with despair and addiction all their lives so it's natural they'd find an affinity with such topics and work on them through music and actual charity too

  • kewl sounds

  • thank you for serving.

  • I just came back from Iraq not too long ago and went back to college. I get tired of people who have never served talking down on what we do and all I have to tell them is that if they want to change it then they should go serve or go into politics then at least then they are in a position that allows them to do so. I was glad to be back in school but I volunteered to go to Afghanistan so school is now on the back burner. To change the subject, I always liked Steve Earls music. Takes me back.

  • Thank you for serving.

  • Thank you for your service to this country, it is greatly appreciated. God Bless you, and come home safe.

  • thank you from the UK. our people are being killed out there too & I have a friend in Afghanistan. You're right, though, Steve's music is great!

  • No one put a gun to the head of "our people". They are trained to kill, and as such must be prepared to die. Dont romanticise on such a serious subject.

  • If you think the war is immoral, you should participate in it? That's a bizarre strain of logic.

I don't have anything against people who serve but I'm not gonna thank them for going over there either, the war is immoral and there are a million and a half dead innocents for the economic gain of a few.

Even everyone in the intelligence community will say that the two wars weren't about "keeping us safe" because the taliban and terrorist cells are stronger than ever because of the mass death.

  • my daughters boyfriend was supposed to come home in three weeks. Then the army told him time in boot camp don't count.. He had his papers and they took them back. I want him home!!!!

  • This war isn't being fought to protect America, it's being fought to secure Israels borders. The Arabs have their lands and we have ours. Soldiers do not have the luxury of political discourse. You follow the lawful orders given you. NEVER criticize anyone doing their duty as a citizen. Instead criticize the politicians sending our troops into an alien war being fought for alien interests.

  • Or if money was not on the line, no one would join. THE PROBLEM IS MONEY!

  • Such a great song. my favorite from the album was "The gringo's tale", about an american casualty of another illegal war in the 80s but i can't find that song anywhere on youtube.

  • You're a moron. If you like the war so much, JOIN the fuckin army. I've been there.

The song is not indicting particular war, but war in general.

You'd notice that if you listened to the third verse, which is all about a Palestinian who sets off a suicide bomb.

But since you can't even spell "illegal," I'll just assume you're a kid doing research for school project who doesn't know any better.

  • Thank you for your service, btswanfury. I think the US Army should start drafting the trolls on these forums (I mean you fatirishguy).

  • I agree bro, 13F10 U.S. Army.

  • The title is from the War Between the States. In the Confederacy, the rich plantation owners who owned a certain number of slaves or more were exempt from the draft. Poor Southerners said it was a "rich man's war and a poor man's fight." In Union states it was similar. People with money could hire a substitute to take their place in the military. So the Union army was filled with working class men and new immigrants such as Germans or Irish.

  • george bush tony blaire you fucking murdering bully boys

  • Steve Earl rock the house!

  • freespeechnetwork (dot) ning (dot) com

Standing united to safe guard free speech for every being the whole world wide!!!

  • Any questions?

  • Great songwriter, great song and a great and interesting debate! It's amazing when the mudslinging and swearing gives way to interesting and intelligent dialogue plumbing the depths of the reasons for this foggy and controversial war.

Both sides bring interesting stuff to the table hear, keep it up!

  • Has anyone here ever watched that HBO series called "The Wire"? Steve Earle played the N/A counsellor. I didn't know that untill I started surfing through the interview section.

  • The Wire is the most realistic show ever aired on TV, the grittiest, scariest, truest moments I've ever seen, whether it's dealing with cops, dealers, politicians or working men. I can't recommend it enough.

  • its very hopeful that a simple artist/song make so many people open political conversations.

  • I sure wish the goverment had to abide by the law, like us common folk.

    Blink!..Blink!....Geneva Treaty.

I just know somewhere in the bill of rights and that constitution is says something about equal treatment under the law.

    I could be wrong........doubt it.

  • Ok. I think we can agree to disagree. Your opinion is that 1441 does not authorize force, and I say it does. So does the US and UK gov'ts. Also, no charges have been brought by the UN. I think you will agree that if a law is broken, then the governing body must act to enforce that law. Thus, we can reason that no law has been broken. But, I don't think I'm going to change your mind. It's a pleasure having reasonable debates like this, and if we did it more, maybe we wouldn't have wars.

  • the un is a joke israel has broken more un rules than anyone and nothing is ever done history will judge america and the uk it is an illegal war but i respect your opinion but do not agree with you

  • Assessing the Legality of Invading Iraq

    Sean D. Murphy

George Washington University - Law School

Georgetown Law Journal, Vol. 92, No. 4, 2004

You can download the paper from SSRN. No one who is even half serious is prepared to argue the war was legal. Nonetheless, that paper goes into detailed discussion of the argument that the war was legal. Murphy concludes the war was not legal.

  • Comment removed

  • What part of the UN said it was illegal? First of all UN resolution 1441 authorized the use of force against Iraq. Also, No member nation has brought charges against the US or Bush, which is required. The ICC has not brought charges against anyone related to the invasion. The only person in the UN who used the word illegal, was Kofi Annan, which akin to Bush speaking for all Americans. You can call the war immoral or unethical but to call it illegal shows a severe lack of knowledge.

  • The US, like North Korea, Russia, China, Israel etc. refused to sign up to the ICC; I wonder why? As a UN body the US can block any resolution anyway. But the UN did not sanction an innvasion. And there were no WMD, as the UN had told Bush. The war is illegal under international law which is why the US had so few supporters. It is legal under US law, but that is ist. Even the US army state Iraq is under occupation! What do you think that means? And charges can still be made v Bush and Blair.

  • What international law? Be specific. Tell me the jurisdictional authority (probably the UN), and what code it is listed in. I've been very specific with UN Resolution 1441 authorizing the use of force against Iraq. Also, there have been 34 countries involved in Iraq with combat and support personnel. There are currently 21 countries. So all these countries are conducting operations in violation of international law? I don't think so.

  • It is a lie to say that Security Council Resolution 1441 authorized any country to attack Iraq. It authorized the UN inspectors to do their jobs as they are doing. The resolution demanded Iraq come clean on its nuclear weapons. Well, even Bush admitted that the US intelligence was faulty and Iraq had no WMD. Neither did it support terrorists or sponsored 9/11. The UK is leaving Iraq, now has small force there. Other countries give aid but do not do military actions and did not commit war crimes.

  • I've said it before, and I will say it again. Tell me exactly what makes the war illegal. Exactly. For something to be illegal, there must be a law which states it is illegal. Show me that law. Show me that law. I've given you exactly what laws make it legal. Now show me the law that makes it illegal. Show me the law that says we can't invade another country without being sanctioned by the UN.

  • It is illegal under international law to invade another country unless it is in self-defence. As Iraq never threathened the US the war by the US/UK was illegal.

  • Wars without international legality (e.g. not out of self-defense, not sanctioned by the United Nations Security Council, and not sanctioned by Article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations) can be considered wars of aggression.

  • Show me where we declared war.

  • Check your facts CONGRESS gave the go ahead to declare war & invade Iraq

  • There is laws called war laws. And you're not allowed to invade a country that doesn't intend to attack you. Face the facts. The Bush administration Attacked a country that was no threat to the US. They attacked with no intention to protect the US when they attacked Iraq.

  • amen brother. you hit the head on the nail!!!

  • The "coalition" that your obviously supposed to remember is the one forged to drive Iraqi occupation troops from Kuwait in 1991, an alliance involving dozens of countries--almost all of whom condemned President Bush invasion of Iraq. There were a few Australian special forces courtesy of the country's former PM John Howard, but that was it. Hence the need for hired guns and mercenaries.

  • No I'm not remembering the one from 1991. There have been 34 countries which have supplied troops (not just 'aid') to the current war in Iraq. Look it up. Also, 1441 does authorize the use of force, and it doesn't refer to only WMD's, it also refers to Iraq's violations of the no-fly zone, iraq's refusal to pay reparations to Kuwait and a host of other violations of preceding UNSC resolutions. And you said 'nuclear weapons'. Come on. No one has EVER said Iraq had nuclear weapons.

  • Have you noticed the prick with the guitar never has the uniform to show off it's true colours......

  • god how i feel for those guys, our soldiers who put on a uniform & were suckered into a war for money ... our soldiers were raped by the powers that be in this country. i'm on their side.

  • Uh, I like this song! Steve Earle has balls.

  • INTERNATIONAL LAW SUPERSCEEDS NATIONAL UNLESS A NATION CHOSES TO WITHDRAW FROM THE TREATES BINDING THEM TO THE HIGHER POWER, THEREFORE ANY ACTION TAKEN THAT DISOBEYS INTERNATIONAL LAW IS ILLEGAL. Get it now, the war is illegal unless the countries involved choose to withdraw themselves from the UN. Exactly the same case for all countries involved in wars who are part of the UN and do not have the agreement of the UN that the war is legal.

  • The people of a nation give their governments a mandate to govern by electing the party they fell best represent their goals and ideals, this is how a government becomes soveriegn, the power given to a government by the people can be transfered through treaty to a body whos law supersceeds that of the nation for example the EU or the UN, by signing up to the UN our governments pass our sovereignty on tothe UN therefore......

  • It could be construed as illegal in that it did not initally get the okay from the United Nations.

  • North Korea didn't start a war? Really? What do you mean by illegal war? I'm against sending our troops into any part of the world in a 'preemptive' attack, but to say our presence in Iraq is illegal is ludicrous. Bush can (and did) send troops where ever he would like without any kind of consideration from Congress. As did every president before him. Remember Somalia? Oh, and call Ft. Bragg and tell the 3rd Special Forces Group that we don't have a troop presence in the Congo.

  • You're a moron...

  • Please. If you want to see a fascist nation just check out China North Korea, or pick an Arab monarchy. I'm the last one to say that the USA is the end all be all, but come on. Go to another country, even Saudi Arabia, and see how the women are treated. And then come back and say were the worst gov't ever to walk the face of the earth.

  • Bush and Blair started an illegal war that has created much death and misery for many millions. North Korea has not begun any such war though it greatly abuses its own people. The US-UK has done what one of the exix of evil states has not done. Let that be your standard to judge the Bush and his administration. By the way women are raped and brutalised in the Congo, alas, there is no great oil reserve in the Congo so no US presence.

  • Your ignorance is astounding.

  • Perhaps you would like to tell us what part of what I wrote is untrue? Better still, try and employ lodic and intellect in your response.

  • im left and proud. but still very defiant. very defiant. i dont look like a handful. but believe me.. i am a hadnful

  • we need a new government system, even the parliamentary system cant help, canadians just gave the country to the neocons again, I dont think i'm gonna work or pay taxes, whats the point, they just waste it all on destruction and death. only thing, my student credit line is cosigned by my parents, and i'll have a hard time convincing them my dept isn't real

  • I'm watching this for research. I am learning this song at the moment. I'm going to sing it our next folk club meet. Four days before Remembrance Sunday (UK) My nerves are shredding already.

  • Dear person sporadically clapping during this video,

What is wrong with you? Let us know.

    Signed,

    ramblinokie

  • Don't matter who you vote for, they all work for the rich. We're just the sheep that feed the wolves.

  • you know George Carlin was sayin this for years, it doesn't matter who you vote for the united states was bought and paid for a long time ago, and no new president will make a difference cause all they are is just another puppet of the big red, white and blue propaganda machine that controls the minds of the american public...AMERICA IT'S TIME FOR A REVOLOUTION!!!!

  • Everytime I hear this song I get tears in my eyes. This song may have come out awhile ago, but what Steve is saying still matters. Keep McCain out of the white house.

  • and the alternative for McCain is Obama the lap dog???

  • You don't need an "alternative" to McCain--all that is important is that that lunatic, PST-affected, Flip-flopping, pandering, ass-kissing piece of shit and his equally nutty, fundamentalist psycho VP is kept the hell as far away from the White House as possible!

I'd vote for ANYONE beside McCain! Except another asshole--so many of whom are criminals inside the Republiscum Party!

  • Keep Palin out of the white house - she wants to drill in the Alaska-Yukon Wildlife Reserve. She doesn't care about Polar Bears or Bears of any type - she even advocates shooting them from airplanes.

Palin "stood up to the oil companies" the same way Danny Williams did - by making sure he got his cut.

Palin is anti-abortion because why kill your children at birth when you (meaning Palin) can later send them to Iraq. Let the military get some use out of them first. Go Earle!

  • The alternative for McCain and Obama is Ron Paul! Write him in!

  • How about Nader? The Green Party and McKinney? We do have choices. Unfortunately, the corporate controlled media tries to hide that from us. Those of you who care, seek out other sources of information. It's out there, keep looking! Hope reigns supreme so long as there are living, breathing human beings. Look at South America. The US has become so involved in the war and oil that we have ignored them. This has allowed for real change there. And if it can happen there, it can also happen here!

  • i am a 75yrs old english woman hippie.and i want to tell you that this singer and his song takes me back to those 60s days when we thought we could end the war and end corrupt regimes.but we were crushed.i sing a sad lament for that.but now i see a flowering of the seed we hippies left behind and this time we must not fail.we must brng the love and peace back to our countries and leaders.god is LOVE and that's all ya need put the vibe out friends.july 4th peace march,be there, all cities inworld

  • The unfortunate aspect about our 2008 political system is that our politicians are doing exactly what you and I are allowing them to do.

We cannot blame the politicians anymore than you or I could blame each other for picking up a $20 bill laying in the streets.

Our politicians just walked in and picked up all the power we were willing to leave lying around and unclaimed.

We the People are to blame for our political problems.

    WorldWideWeb(dot)PortablePublishing(dot)com

  • Out NOW

    KILL BUSH

    OR

    Mccain if he gets elected

  • this man is a national treasure and should be treated as such. steve's that rarest of creatures-the liberal redneck, the hippie hick with an open mind, the good ol boy with a heart full of love for his fellow man. we need thousands more like him. listen up, yall! the man's trying to tell you something. just like ol ronnie v.z. was

  • that is really odd you compare him to ronnie can zandt because I just watched an interview and steve says he HATES Lynyrd Skynyrd.

  • another reason to love Steve!

  • Steve Earle ROCKS!!! I humbly thank you for writing one of the best "protest songs" since some vague date in the '60's, and for your unswerving integrity.

In times like the dreary Bush recent, Steve Earle often flashes at the top of the list when I ask myself, "Well, what's GOOD about the USA?"

Steve, Thank you profusely, and thanks to "jackynjimy" for posting this great stuff.

    Cheers!

  • Illegal war is right, the government mocks our Constitution. Congress has the duty to declare war, according to the law of our land. God bless Steve Earle for standing up for what is right.

  • Fuck Bush and his cronies....this country marches into foreign lands and kills the poor and innocent for big business greed and the major corporations unquenchable thirst for profit...

  • Steve Earle is the man! This jarhead says, "Ooh-rah!"

  • Steve has always been a folk artist and folk artists like most rational people are always against war... do you really think people are going to buy a Steve Earle album because its anti-war?! of course not they are going to buy it because its F'in Steve Earle who has not and never will sell out!

  • i get the first part but can you elaborate on the second part?

  • Who started this war? Do you believe Iraq did? Do you believe the Arabs did? This is blowback my firned from American foreign policy.

I have no idea if youre a vet or not..but I am and let me tell you this i regret ever trusting my country.

  • Couldn't have said it any better, awesome song by an awesome singer. Keep up the good work Steve......

  • How many of us "sell out" eveyday? Its time to stand up so we dont have to. He may have sold a song. Thats what artists do. We all have to pay the bills. As a vet I feel this song , it stirs old memories. So I say cut him a break hes still a perso with dreams for himself and his peers, so embrace him, so what he sold a song, next time you fill up your chevy with $4.00 a gallon gas, think of those of us who were misinformed and went to fight.

  • You know there is always some moron who doesn't realize that selling a song is how a musician makes a living. Do you think the record companies are charity organizations? That's where most successful musicians sell their music.

As for the comments about, "another dope smoking lib, blah blah blah," well we were right about Viet Nam .

When the dust settles after this war, the hawks will be shaking thier heads and asking, "how did we get fooled again?"

  • Steve Earle - Rich Man's Whore.

    Claims he's a "borderline Marxist,"

    Writes "The Revolution Starts NOW,"

    Sells song to Chevy corporation.

  • Earle talks the talk and doesn't walk the walk.

He let down a lot of fans when he sold out.

  • I see that I'm not the only one who feels betrayed by Mr Earle's perfidy. "Rich Man's Whore"--good one. And sadly apt.

  • I wonder if there is any song that Steve Earle would not sell to corporate America. Maybe next he'll sell "My Old Friend the Blues" to a pharma company. Is anything sacred to this man or does he have a price tag on everything as he did with "The Revolutions Starts NOW"?

  • Selling to corporate America? He has kids to support jackass...and as his cousin, I have to say that I'm not only proud, but honored to have such a brilliant, GOOD man in my family.

  • I love Earle, but BMYRA is being critical, give him a breaK AND BE CRITICAL TOO...i agree with him, but i would defend earle saying that we are slaves to capitalism

  • I'm not an American, so maybe I shouldn't comment, but what is with some Yanks, who cannot see that sometimes, the Govt gets it very badly wrong. When that happens you need dissenting voices - It's not running down your country, It's speaking up for what your country could/should be.

We, here in Europe, have developed a culture of dissent against our Govts, when they step over the line, and with our past, long may it continue

  • Thank you for your very positive comment.

I wish I could live in Europe.

  • However, as critical as BMYRA is, he should remember that Kar Marx and Noam Chomsky and Frantz Fanon all SOLD their books too....

  • No you don't. Europe isn't any better than the U.S.

    I'm sorry to say it.

  • Do you live in Europe? Is there any politician there as bad as Bush/Cheney?

I am an atheist, but they make me believe in Satan!

  • How about Bliar? Le Pen? Griffin? They're all tokers on Satan's custardpipe if you ask me. Which you didn't, but hey...

  • Have you even been to Europe?

  • Steve Earle is a great writer, but he can't back up some of his beliefs. that is where he loses some credibility.

  • Agreed idahodad1. This failure to back up his beliefs (e.g., claiming he's a "borderline marxist as he sells his "Revolution" song to Chevy) makes him a hypocrite. And not a borderline one either.

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

  • Do you have a child in Iraq? A friend? A relative? Lets bring them home. You do not have to carry a rifle as they do. They carry a rifle to protect their lives and the lives of their friends in a bad situation. You do have a weapon just as important as their rifle to secure safety for them. Ron Paul. Your dollars are his bullets. He needs ammo now! Dig down our active vets are in peril and need you. Any amount will do! Just do it!

  • "In our country, one class of men makes war and leaves another to fight it out."

Civil War General William T. Sherman

  • libertylobby:

    you disgust me.

  • Steve Earle - Rich Man's Whore

  • Screw you S.O.B.

  • libertylobby- LOSER

  • If you want to see someone with integrity, who hasn't sold out to corporate America via Chevy, see the Night Watchman.

  • bmyra! Wow! He sucks balls! He sits on his fat ass, and talks shit on the internet! He's jealous S.E. is making a living and he's not! What an asshole you've become!

  • Earle is amazing, a GREAT song writer and a true patriot. I'm just another Vet who LOVES his music and message. Peace

  • HOW true no blood for oil .ynwa

  • Yeah Go Steve!! Good singer, good attitude to Yankee expansionism, and Ameerka sould listen to him!!

  • Earle is a great musician. Now he's also a worthwhile dissenting voice who hates the very government that protects warmongers and allows big business to prosper. Besides, his music kicks ass.

  • Earle is a great musician. Now he's also a worthwhile dissenting voice who hates the very government that protects warmongers and allows big business to prosper. Besides, his music kicks ass.

  • I'll take communistic traitor as a compliment anyday

  • So do I.

  • You suck nowadays,besides!

  • takes balls to disagree with the bush war machine, its cowards that sing hail to the cheif

  • money and greed. you nailed it. wars dont come out of nowhere, they're a timeless racket by criminals--in plain sight. "when will we ever learn" good job Stev earle you pierced my heart.

  • nikthenyetminder, your wanted to go to war on terror. Report immediately to Irag.... you f*ckwit

  • I was already there for 14 months. What's up? Oh I forgot, it's your opinion so it's right. ha ha ha ha my ass....
