"You'll Never Walk Alone" This was the first song I learned as a child... I can still remember, like it was yesterday, 52 years ago my father writing the lyrics for me from the soundtrack LP.
Thank you for posting some of the best music ever written, and I'm ashamed to say that at 57, I still hav'nt seen "Carousel",, but now I'm looking forward to getting a copy and sitting down with my friends and family and enjoying the heart warming story of real-life issues,, I need some kleenex right now!
There's NO WAY to watch this movie or listen to the music w/o tears falling!!!! It goes straight for the heart just like Man of La Mancha and other GREAT movies!!!!!
I'm more touched by this song near the end of the movie and my tears fell unknowingly: ....."Now I've lost you soon I will go in the mist of day, and you'll never will know how I loved you, how I loved you.
@eagleaerie5 I share the same feelings. Ïf I Loved You" is one of the most beautiful love songs ever written for a musical play. Thank you for watching and leaving a most heartfelt comment.
Thank you for taking the time and effort to create this. The portions of the movie you used were a perfect combination. I've loved this movie and the Broadway show it came from since childhood and this video really captures the main story line and the most popular songs from the show beautifully. You cut it together perfectly. Thank you again for creating this and bringing back a few wonderful memories.
@SteveAndrade623 Thank you for your very kind words. It is difficult not be moved with a story like this played to the beautiful music of Rodgers and Hammerstein.
I wonder if the kids of today have ever heard of this great musical, along with West Side Story, South Pacific, and other superb musicals. Beautiful music and story telling. The music of today really pales in comparison to the music of yesteryear.
Interesting stereo effect here, some of the voices appear further "back" than others, even through headphones. I've heard that they could create that illusion with varying blends of delayed audio, but I've never noticed it before. By 1956, a movie of this quality would have been made with surround tracks, so I'd guess someone translated them into the enhanced 2ch effect. The video also looks terrific. Thanks for posting!
@daffonfire omg...how gorge was he...he died age 65...seen this movie ..at least 27 times...wonderful natural voice...my dads fave singer...sad..but the greiving process applies....just get used 2 someone whos not there anymore...RIP..my brother....xxx
@klongiklongi You did not finish the sentence but I guess you meant the You'll Never Walk Alone as originally sang by Claramae Turner. INGROOVES who owns the copyright to Ms. Turner's version would not let me use it on this video, Thank you for watching.
@tez601 I agree. I always thought the intro was necessary for people who may not be familiar with the story. But I couldn't do it with the old YouTube 10-minute limit. I was able to when they increased it to 15 last summer. Thanks.
Wish the copyright freaks wouldn't do what they do. I have never NOT purchased an art in any medium because I saw it on YouTube or the Internet. The opposite is true. Give me a taste and I may eat the entree.
Of course there are those who think anything on the Internet should be free. I'm not of that persuasion.
Thank you for your effort to posed this MV. I like the songs very much even the story rather sad. But, it is uplifting Hope as well. Thanks for posted. - From Singhaburi
