  • To pick a favorite Smiths song is impossible.

  • @cacoethes138 yeah, of course nothing materialises out of nowhere, this is a thing called inspiration, very true. Two years on: older? wiser? maybe. Here i can answer my own, aformentioned question with the answer: Fish, from Marillion =)

  • The first Smiths song I ever heard, and I remember listening to it over and over and over...my favorite Smiths song.

  • This is my favorite song.

  • Fantastic!

  • Irresistibile!!

  • You literally can barely hear Marr. WTF bad sign when the bass is louder than the guitar lol

  • Dig the dancing Morrissey!

  • Fave song, obviously...

  • it took tattood boy from birkenhead lol

  • I haven't listened to this song, but I fell in love straightaway...only they can make u fall in love at first impression :)

  • Best Smiths song by far!!!!

  • What a quality song :)

  • this song makes it irresistable to turn up the stereo (shhh i know i cant spell)

  • that's what she said ;)

  • to pretend to be happy, could only idiocy!

  • do the crowd shout "OUIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!!"

  • What she read-all heady books, she'd sit and prophesy; it took a tatooed boy from Birkenhead to really, really open her eyes.----You gotta love those lyrics!

  • I bet this was an excellent concert. Shame, I was only 13 and no passport..

  • i wasnt even a twinkle in my dads eye......:(

but i still know the best band ever when i see it....

    xx

  • no doubt

  • Andy U Kill Me With UR Grandisimo bass lines....Perfecto!!!

    ROURKEY!!!!!!!

  • the best version of this song is the one of the "rank" live album,,its blistering ,,it follow the opening track the queen is dead, which is also the best version of that song, kind advice..

  • i smoke cos i m hopping for an early death....yeah that s how i live!

  • Morrisseys voice has been with me for over 20 years and it sounds like to me he is suffering from a cold during this lol I could be wrong but more than likely, can you hear it? I love you Morrissey, always and forever :*

  • 'how come someone hasnt noticed that im dead? and decided to bury me, god knows im ready.' - moz has got to be the best lyricist ever, if anyone thinks theres better please reply cos i want to know why a person can be so deluded! lol 'ps. if theres a tatooed boy from birkenhead, get in touch aswell...haha'

  • as far as i know those lines are from the book Grand Central Station I Sat Down And Wept by Elizabeth Smart.

  • @wasagoodkid if ? there must be hundreds and hundreds of tattood boys from birkenhead lol

  • @TheMightOfTheEnglish - oh I guess your right, I should be ok then after all!

  • @wasagoodkid I was a true fan of this song from the very beginning, and everytime I hear the lyrics I notice they were abou ME and of course, I needed a tattoed man from Birmigham (in counterpart of the boy from Birkenhead) to really really open my eyes...

  • The most underrated smiths song. Lyrically brilliant.

  • i love his dancing in this...it goes perfectly with the song!

  • the best song from "Meat Is Murder" imho

  • great sound , great video , great band !!

  • great song. my favorite smith's song!!

  • thanks ofr all videos .i discovered them 3 years ago.paul 37 australia

  • this is my favorite smiths song. I love how hopelessly sad and depressing morrissey is. Hes sad that hes so different from everyone else but at the same time embraces it because he doesnt want to be like the people around him.

  • does parts of it sound like blondie " call me "

  • I understand how you'd see that with the very beginning riff right? But I personally dont think anything else sounds the same. Johnny Marr has alot of funky riffs in different songs that are like this but not so much like blondie. Or atleast not intentionally.

  • now i think it sounds like dr who theme.lol.

  • @someonenoticeimdead Hmm, Marr did sometimes nick riffs from other artists (and put them in a total different context), and he liked Blondie a lot! So it could easily be.

PS: I now see that this comment is two years old, oh well..

  • nope

  • how dare you

  • thats exactly what it reminds me of whenever i listen to it, which is also a good song as well!

  • Much like Hafez.

  • i know what you mean

  • this song is pure smiths. deeply morbid with despair. morrissey injects it , however with energy and passion to appear as if there is hope. such a classic.

  • love this song!!!

  • The definitive Smiths classic.

  • niceeeee

  • ditto. definetly loving all the videos you added!

  • You are the best Suparni! I have always wanted to see the full version with the real audio, and you put it up! Thanks for making my day!
