a fullback that was injured all of last season so consider him a rookie. Some young receivers such as floyd and nanee. Defence had a d-line that was filled with young guys with limited expereince. Lets not forget that empty safey position that a rookie and some young guys had to fill it. Either way the expereinced guys on that team are hall of famers and the young guys play great. Norv may not be too good at running any type of defence but the guy is an offence guru. People keep talking about how good the roster is at San Diego but really the pressure is always on the Chargers what so ever. People always expect too much from that team. During the jets game the pressure was all on the Chargers. The thing is this team had alot of young player this year. 3 playyers on the o-line had no nfl expereince what so ever.

The Bolts made it because of Rivers, Tomlinson, Merriman, Cromartie, Jammer, Gates, Williams, and the rest of the talent. Not Norv or Marty. I do think Marty is the better coach. Just my opinion. With all that talent a 6 year old could coach and win. The Chargers are taking Norv to the playoffs not the other way around

In defense of TYT, Norv is a bit of an enigma: he starts out terribly, then all of a sudden he wins. Wish he was better earlier on.
Having said that, Norv Turner is the Rodney Dangerfield of the NFL. He takes the Chargers to the playoffs in his first two years, further than what Marty did in his whole time as the Chargers HC, and he STILL gets no respect!
He's not the best coach, but give this guy some credit!

IMHO, I'd rather go 8-8 and get to the playoffs then go 14-2 and lose like we did to the Pats in the first round. That was a pain I don't want to re-live. Everyone at the Q was in tears that day. No one who was at that game was too sorry to see Marty go. Just get us playoff wins - and that's what Norv does, you gotta admit that.

As a Redskins fan, I can attest to the suckiness of Norv Turner as a coach. Throughout his tenure in Washington, his teams were characterized as under-performers and lacking discipline. He's a good Offensive Coordinator and that is what he should be, not a head coach.

I've been a Charger fan my whole life, and have tried to keep an open mind on Norv since he was hired (mostly indifferent). But this game was the first that really made me think.. why is he coaching this team? Just absurd playcalling. Normally I feel pissed off after the Chargers lose, but not this time, because it felt like Norv didn't even really try / want to win.
I'm glad Cenk said what needed to be said. Put Norv on the official list of Hot Seat coaches.
