  • *whistles a few bars of Billy Joel's Allentown*

  • preach.

  • Can you image how tough it must be to have a real job right now? bosses must be tough, overtime must be constant. you'd better stick with your current job and live with your parents.

  • My advice, drop it all and wait. Move to China if you want more freedom. Ron Paul can't and doesn't really want to change anything. The government is a monster squid that will strangle America. Government is morally wrong because it uses violence to solve problems. Tax is theft. Every law is a gun to your head. Go back to America after the government and dollar fall and start a new business for free! No more fees, no more violence.

  • @ninjashade411 I suppose if your parents are paying for it, then take it if that is what they choose. But I assure you, there are cheaper ways to make friends and be around kids your age. You seem young, don't stress so much. I moved out when I was 16 with my car, a bag, and $30. Haven't had friends in years, but I run on determination, and people came around because they were attracted to that. I still don't have friends because I focus much of my efforts on other things. GL.

  • @ninjashade411 You should ask yourself, how is college going to make this right? The degree is no guarantee of a job, the knowledge is available online for free and the library if that's your thing.

I'm not against college, I am against the college system that is provided for us at this point in time. And it is a blasted shame what they are giving us for the cost. If I were in your position, I would take up a job, gain some experience, and let this tuition bubble burst. And it will.

  • Basically, the system now is designed so that new graduates cannot get jobs and are shut out of being employed in their respective fields because only job candidates who have been working for a substantial amount of time are considered.

  • 30% for a C sounds low but if the exams were that difficult it may be appropriate. I don't know if that was the case in your class and in my experience the class is usualy curved after all of the exams are taken and not before.

However, what you said about companies wanting 3-5 years of experience is true and is holding many people back. They want like 5 years of experience for people with a bachelor's degree, which is impossible for new graduates to have, and 2-3 for those with a masters degree

  • @MrFalcon675 university use the curve method to evaluate students. no big deal

  • if you listen to Peter Schiff radio, he is always talking about how hard the government makes things for business owners with taxes and regulations. There was an episode where a woman came on with about 200K in student loans to get a sociology degree, Peter advised her to leave the country. True story

  • @Steve2323ZX you have to study in mechanics, electronics, computers, to get real jobs

  • i agree with what you say in your video. A lot of jobs I've applied for often require a masters degree for menial work in invasive plant removal (spraying herbicide)

  • @NiteCrawlr2 Quite a joke nowadays. I often wonder how a business or company would feel if instead of offering them your college degree, you offer them $40,000 to train you, educate you on the job you're interested in, and give you a shot to work at their company. If you fail or find yourself uninterested, you take the experience and walk away. I think that would offer a better job at a real career than what college is giving us nowadays.

  • Traditional education is useless.

  • I generally agree with you and forgive me for disagreeing. I agree that college is whack..no doubt. However, how can you compete with those with a degree if you don't have one?? As for opening up a business, you make it seem like it's better..but only if you succeed. The majority of businesses fail and you have a lower chance of succeeding in one than you would with a college degree. In general, you're right, but people have to learn to adapt more than anything.

  • @jdoramaking Definitely, but I see this as a huge flaw in the system. A degree is no longer a true measure of knowledge. The students I see graduating nowadays are no way up to the caliber of someone who graduated say 50 years ago. At some point however, I do think this system will end, and people will come to the realization that hiring someone with a degree is no guarantee of work. In the same way an artist's portfolio will say more about the individual than his art degree.

  • @michaelhanguyen The value of a degree will decrease and increase at the same time. For most, it will be of no value. For some, in order to compete in the global market, they have to have a degree. Companies won't waste time thinking that somebody with a degree may not be the best worker. They will hire the best worker with a degree in another country!

  • Hi, I enjoyed your post a lot. Hopefully you will keep up posting your thoughts on You tube. At my college, Cal Poly in SLO, there is always a construction project going on. They finished redoing the plaza this year which looked great before, my department building got tored down even though I was happy in it, and the most ridiculous is the new gym they are building. All this while tuition is increasing in our CSU system.

  • Since your a waiter, you should really get people on board with no tax on tips bill Ron has. There are some awesome flyers that someone is printing at Liberty Forest forums.

  • @rightsman123 Been pushing it. Sadly, a lot of servers don't care. They don't notice the taxes taken on their paychecks. And the government has made everyone feel powerless to the wrath of taxes. But for the few servers who do care, I see a bit of revolution-thirst in them.
