i'm thinking about buying one? i see the reviews are amazing! what's your thoughts on it? did you have to do any mods to it at all? this would be my first rc
I read a lot of reviews before getting the Radian and so far it is great! I'll probaly upgrade and get a nice DLG later this year, but I'm happy now, I havent done any mods yet but I may put some "super magnets" in the wings. Other than that I don't see the need for anything else.
If it will be your 1st R/C make sure to spend a lot of time on a flight sim if you can, they really help. Also, try to have an experienced pilot help you the 1st time or two.
Actually you might want to find an experienced R/C pilot to help you. There's a huge difference between flying real planes and the "toy" ones that we fly.
@Chad9976 I'm still a bit of a chicken, but if I let the motor run I could "speck" it out at probably 1500-2000 ft. The highest I've had it up is about 900 feet when I caught a thermal that just lifted it up like it was on an elevator!
It was pretty windy yesterday so that's why the plane is going all over the place. It was alittle hard to control sometimes.
@Chev427BB Not yet, and I hope never to experience it with this plne. Although, when I was into R/C the first time I had a plane get stuck in a tree that required me to climb it and toss a lasso around the wing to bring it down.
@yuichituba It's a "super spy" micro camera, about the size of a stick of gum. Not real high picture or sound quality but it only weighs 15 grams. I just velcro'd it to the plane behind the wing.
@adramatictheme I've never tried hang gliding, and don't think I would. But, I've been trying to convince my wife to go up in a real glider which I think would be awesome.
No, I've only done airplanes. I used to do nitro planes but got tired of all my clothes smelling like the fuel. Electrics are so advanced now that it would be hard to go back to nitro stuff.
Now I know what the hawk that circles our place looking for chickens must feel like.
Thanks for posting.

@dorf68 Actually, Atlanta is fairly hilly but it's hard to see from the air.

man that thing gets some serious altitude! It stays up for quite a while from just gliding.
watch your YAW
how high up would you say it gets?

Has this ever landed somewhere that you can't easily reach?
