@Ravens- that's wrong: top 1% pays 40% of income taxes. You have to be consistent to make a difference: if earning justifies keeping, then it does for Goldman Sachs too. If you want to defend only property rights of little guys or kids with lemonade stands, the Left will continue to win. Like Jmmcain who says Suzy is greedy. The Left always wins because they have a moral ideal (sacrifice) and they apply it consistently.

I have a solution. Every freeloading welfare person come to the taxpayers house and mows the lawn, wash the dishes, paint the house, etc, etc, etc......Arent you sick of the "Entitlement" attitude of the freeloaders? The job of an economic system is to generate wealth. At this, nothing is history has proven superior to capitalism. Whether and how wealth is shared is the function of a moral system. It's wrong to blame capitalism for moral failings and foolish to advocate any economic system in the absence of a moral system. Instead, embrace capitalism while also creating incentives for people to live morally ("...love your neighbor as yourself..."). This creates maximum wealth, freedom and sharing.

This is true as far as it goes, but it doesn't get to the heart of the issue: the moral status of the business operator and the "needy". Really consistent Leftists would say the scenario shows how bad the profit motive really is, and that we'd be better off when the state takes over the abandoned lemonade stand. Less consistent Leftists would say, "just don't tax it quite so much that it's destroyed". I don't think that's the intended message.

Most visitors are sympathetic to free trade, but unless the intent is to preach to the choir, you have to view it like an unconvinced person. They don't agree that an economic system should primarily generate wealth, but rather be fair. "At some point, you've made enough money" - who said that? When you point out that taxation is sacrificing the productive to the unproductive, opponents simply say "yes! that's what makes it good". You can't address the critics without addressing that issue.

@RavensFan2812 - you may not be worried about "visitors", but I think that's the whole point of making a video: to convince people that we're headed down the wrong economic road. Conservatives have been trying to do that for about 100 years, and they're still losing, even though every socialist system ever tried is an abject failure. Ultimately people do what they think is moral, and most people think sacrifice is moral- you can't fight that by saying "Capitalism gets you stuff".

@stevearticus it's not about saying capitalism gets you stuff. It's more that if you work hard, you succeed. Anything more moral than that? There's something very immoral about sitting on one's ass with a hand out while others toil to the bone.

And it skirts around the real issue to characterize recipients as people who don't work. It's easy to be against that, but it's not our problem. It's easy to get people to feel like taking money from a little girl and her lemonade stand is bad - but how about taking money from Goldman Sachs and giving it to a blind widow?

@stevearticus that's kind of a stretch. Most of the people paying up are middle class people, not Goldman Sachs types. So it's not about the little girl, but the reality of Joe Citizen feeding his family of 4 and getting taxed to death to pay for illegals and others who vote to keep the people taking the money in power.
