  • yess i agree with her i am deaf and i understand everyword that was said, i lost my hearing when i was 8 yrs old and my famly only signs very lil. its very important if ur chlidren are deaf u should learn ASL as well!!! if the parents are deaf the kids should learn!! some parnets who have deaf children even refuse to help there children with there needs and rasie them as hearing that is wrong! i there is NOTHING wrong with ASL its just an other way to commuicate the same as anyother lang.

  • Wow... I can't understand it, but it's amazing that you can communicate like this.

I honestly wanna thank whoever invented it, even if they're dead! *LOL* :)

    Nice!

  • I know some asl, my teacher is deaf, so, she taught me.

  • Thanks!!! I have been looking for that episode everywhere!!!

  • I'm not a total expert on ASL, but I'm going to take a wild guess here and say she liked the show. Call me crazy.

    :)

I don't understand how you could not teach your kids ASL. I mean comon, I've been doing it for a year and a half and I knew WAY more than the older sister who had two, count 'em, TWO Deaf parents.

  • Good question, and I sincerely hope that ABC will provide an encore presentation of this episode. Never I ever seen a great response to this show, and high demand for this show to be shown again!

  • i'm a speech pathologist working with a family who are all profoundly deaf. in our session last week, the father was telling me about this episode and how amazed he was that the parents hadn't taught their kids sign and how sad the communication breakdowns were between the whole family. i would love to see it so i can talk to dad about this in next week's therapy session... anybody know where i can watch it???

  • i can't believe i missed this episode!!! i need to see it!!! i should have gone to get her autograph! i live in in papillion and she was LITERALLY a minute away from where i live. my friend chuck is neighbors with the baulisch family and he promised me he was going to get an autograph, but he never did... oh yeah i need to see this episode also because they filmed her driving by my house... that's bull! I NEED TO SEE IT!!!

  • It was an excellent show for its promotion of using ASL and promoting 100% accessible communication in the family. Thumbs Up!

  • Ahhhhh!! I missed that episode! Been way too busy that my schedule is wayyyy outtawhack. :( Lefty44745 - Hurry up and get that episode up and running so that I can watch it here. Thanks!

  • I agree with you. and yes wow I with my our children already watch show abc SUPERNANNY. that very important parent deaf need communication with no matter hearing or deaf children.

  • Do you know where I can get that episode? I reallyyyyy want to see it!!!

  • I can't believe I missed this!!!! Grrrrr

  • The mother from that episode Dorothy is my aunt. Sadly the communication problems have been going on her entire life. She comes from a family of 7 children. Out of her entire family the only 2 who know sign language besides Dorothy and Kip are her daughter Melissa and her older brother (my father). It has been a lack of initiative on our entire family.

  • Sadly that is the truth with most Deaf families. I really wanted to see this episode, if you know somewhere on line we can watch it please post it on here!!! Thanks!

  • I dont know that Dorothy were your aunt. Wow! How did you feel that your aunt were on show? I was wondering. I did watch them, but the tape that I was about to record them which it is not show in there, how sadly.

  • Im going to download the Episode to youtube sometime today or tomorrow!

    Look for it=]

  • I agree with you very realistic. Communication is a big factor no matter if hearing or deaf, because we want barrier free in home environment. I miss the show, but your comments make a lot of sense to me. Empowerment is the key.
