i have this coin and it's a really tiny gold coin that has a bird on one side and it says united states of America and underneath the bird it says twenty dollars and on the other side it has a head with stars around it and underneath the head it says 1886 this coin is very tiny and is inside a little ordinary box that has a swade holder made specially for the coin. This coin was my dad's and i found it in his drawer years after my mom kicked em out, so how much do you think it's worth?

@MrTech991 I would definitely have that appraised by a coin grading service. PCGS is good service. I think only 900 million of those were minted making it quite scarce on a world scale. Only 1 out of 6 people on the planet have that coin. Just think how jealous the other 5 must feel. Plus the caveat is medium condition!

Under the Pittman Act many silver dollars preceding the date of 1905 ( none were made in '05 to set the record straight ) were melted for their silver content. In 1921, silver dollar production was resumed with the Morgan series whereas the type variety would see its largest mintage years above and beyond any other years. The Peace Dollar was just that - it was brought into its inception to promote Peace in the World shortly following a few years at the close of WW1. Anyways, happy collecting!

Next month I'm going to get a 1980 1 oz Krugerrand set in a Turkish style 3mm solid 14K bezel. The coin awaits me it was finished being set by a local jeweler over a week ago. The 1921 Peace Dollar and 1928 Plain dollars ( most notably the '28 ) are the key dates in that Type coin.

I have around 600 rolls of state quarters till 2007 and many mint sets. My father decided to go to the bank and get $200 in rolls of half dollars and he came out the winner.
